Continental Parkhotel

Outstanding in every way. Breakfast is phenomenal. Ate once in the restaurant and service and meal was top class. The pool is immaculate and well looked after with complimentary towels on hand. The staff are very friendly and helpful and multilingual. The location looking out over lake Lugano is exceptional and I would recommend a room with a balcony and view over the lake. The location is also a few hundred yards from the station and despite that the rooms are noise insulated so you don’t notice trains. Access to the centre of Lugano is a 2 minute walk to the station where a free of charge electric train takes you down the considerable hill straight into the town centre which is fully pedestrianised with loads of quality eating places and shopping.

I got a room with a view which was very nice, the room was spacious, the bed was confortable the illumination was good and the shower very confortable. the place is in the top of the city there is a funicular that can take you down town, and walking is about 10 min it is steep but ok. The hotel is in front of the train station that can take you to lots of places, and the hotel gave us a code that let us use the train and ferry for free to go any were in Switzerland. The breakfast was very good and the service was great too.

the noise from the train station, but with ear plugs you solve that problem, it is a bit tricky to get there by car.

Location next to the railway station - comfortable if you plan to travel around by train. Clean, comfortable, nice bright rooms. Very friendly staff. Good restaurant with own winery. Nice park area with the good-sized seasonal swimming pool. Rooms have balconies. Bathrobes and slippers. No animals allowed. All rooms are non-smoking. Own free parking. Air-conditioner.

Rooms with the lake view are very noisy because the hotel is next to the train station. Not in the city center, but there is an easy way to get to the center of Lugano - use a Funicular at the train station. Cold floor in the room (no carpet). Would be nice to have hooks in the bathroom. No ventilation (19th century historic building).

Continental Park hotel was a good choice for us arriving at the peak season, but having not much budget to spend for long weekend. Great value for the price. The hotel has a long history and we were impressed how they cheer it with numerous old photos and pictures. Polite and helpful staff, very clean and convenient rooms. Amazing breakfast! And very good location: not far from the center, you can use funicular for free to go up and down to the center if you don’t want to use the stairs. We didn’t use the pool, though it looked nice.

I wouldn’t say that we didn’t like it, however it is good to know that if you have Lake View room - it will be overlooking to the railways which separate lake and central part and the hotel. We were super tired everyday, so slept as babies and didn’t hear any noise from the trains. But I would recommend to take garden view to those who have sensitive sleep.

Very attractive well maintained hotel with spacious elegant public rooms, comfortable bedroom, fine swimming pool and attractive park and garden.

We were disappointed by our original choice of upgraded double room which was not as calm and quiet as we had expected it to be for a four night stay. The hotel reception and manager responded very positively however to our request for a quieter room on the park side of the hotel and we could not have been happier with the service we received.

Nice hotel above Lugano, yet easily reachable via the furnicular at the train station. Bright and sunny room overlooking the lake, with balcony (shared with room next door). Firm bed. Excellent lighting, but a bit difficult to figure out. Ample closet space. Very functional bathroom. Breakfast delicious. Pool fantastic, with plenty of chairs and beds, towel service, and a great bar. Easy parking.

No coffee or tea maker in the room; this should be a standard for a 4-star establishment.

Beautiful hotel, you wouldn’t guess it’s so close to the station and so handy to get to the city center. I loved the fact that it was quite grand and really had so much ( eau to fil outdoor space with swimming pool, restaurant, breakfast, bar, etc), yet it was so close to the city center. It’s by the station but from our bedroom we couldn’t hear any train with windows closed and we were facing that side. Honestly really beautiful and lovely staff

Maybe the restaurant food could be even better

Our room is having the full lake view and at mid-level. Just 2 minute walk to the train station with a very nice and quiet park adjacent. Our room is so large with a long balcony overseeing the Lugano Lake. There are also large garden and swimming pool inside the hotel. The small grape yard at the back is a wonderful surprise.

You need to walk downhill or uphill for around 30 minutes if you wish to reach the lake side and the downtown area.

Location as well as style/ambiance were high points. This property is ideal for travelers using the train system, with the station a 2-minute walk away. The indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant areas as well as the pool area are beautifully landscaped.The rooms, albeit on the small size, are nicely appointed.

Wifi somehow did not work for everyone in our party, but good coverage could be found at the SBB station nearby. Breakfast (all buffet) was ordinary if ample and filling.

Overall, we had a nice one night stay. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good. We had a “lake view” room but it was more of a partial view and overlooks the train station (which can be a little loud) and other buildings. The bed and room were very nice and comfortable though.

It was a little hard to find as you have to exit the train station from the back instead of the front and our maps provided us wrong directions. I wish it was explained in the welcome email.
