LUGANODANTE - We like you

Location is great, right in the city center and literally at the entrance/exit to the funicular to the train station. Easy walk to the lake, breakfast was quite good, staff members were nice. The contents of the mini bar were free (non alcoholic) so that was nice. Air conditioning worked well, it was pretty hot. Bathroom was good sized and the shower was huge

Seems minor and it is, but a few tv stations would often freeze (especially BBC One and Two). I assume that’s because it was satellite, but it was annoying as I would have liked to have watched a couple of Wimbledon matches. But that was really it, I liked the hotel and would stay there again

It is located close to the train station. Super modern, very nice, spacious rooms. I truly liked the small details, the free non-alcoholic mini bar, tea, coffee, comfortable bed, air conditioner, the little sofa in the bedroom, charger station, toiletteries in the bathroom. The breakfast was super good with various choices. The rooms were clean. I was honestly impressed, I really liked our stay. The stuff was also incredibly nice and helpful. Many thanks! If we ever return back to Lugano, I would choose this hotel again.

Exceptional staff; attentive, responsive and accommodative, especially the breakfast staff. Breakfast was incredible. A fantastic selection to satisfy all types of diners. Of note, there was the immense selection of fresh pastries. The room (double) was small but beautifully decorated. The bathroom could accommodate two people and the sink was big enough to wash delicate items. Everything in the refrigerator was part of the price (no alcohol) and replenished daily. Decent size desk to work on your laptop. Also a bench seating area. No chairs but there was a backless stool which neatly slid under the desk. Provided a discount Ticino card for free transportation. Hypoallergenic bedding was provided as requested. Offered water on checkout. I forgot some things in a drawer and they sent an email to us before we got home. They shipped those things the same day. This is great customer service. Despite their business we were able to get a late checkout. Wonderful stay. My strongest statement is that we will return to hotel in the future.

I had to ask for creamer for the coffee. It was not provided in the refrigerator. The international multi point charger did not operate as advertised. Great idea but only the two main plug in ports worked. The six wires designed to attach many types of devises simply did not work on any of our devises. The shower size was super small. I am 6.2 and I made multiple contacts with the walls and shower door. I realize noting can be done about that. The small shower allowed for more room in the bathroom. Finally, over an 18 day period every hotel but this one provided a washcloth. Fortunately, I carry one for all trips in Europe as it is not standard practice at boutique hotels.

Location of the hotel to the station , lake and old town is excellent. Staff were wonderful as was the breakfast. We had a special tasting dinner which was very good, however everything, including the speech explaining the wine, was only in Italian though there were many non Italian diners as well as ourselves. Very pleased overall with this hotel.

The shower in our room, whilst great, was far too big for the shower cubicle which was very small. The hairdryer was the type fixed to the bathroom wall....absolutely hopeless for drying longer hair as it ran cold or hot and kept cutting out because it overheated. It was so very different from everything else in the room and needs changing.

When locals ask you where you’re staying and you mention Luganodante, they happily nod affirmatively, reassuring you made the best decision. And they’re right The hotel is right in the city center, everything is within walking distance (this includes the historical city center, the lake, the Cathedral, the funiculars of both Monte Bre and San Salvatore, train and bus station). The staff is probably the best I’ve ever seen, and I travel for business all the time. They’re genuinely kind people who will do everything to help make your stay the best it can be. the breakfast and the restaurant in general is 10 out of 10 Michelin guide recommended - the selection is just everything you can ever wish for. The room was clean, comfortable, regularly maintained. Pick Luganodante, you won’t be disappointed.

everything was fantastic

This was the best room we stayed at for our 10 city 2023 winter vacation. Very spacious and comfortable room. The lighting and light fixtures gave the room a wondeful "vibe." It is also located about 20 feet from the funicular stop from the train station, make sure you get off at the "Lugano" stop, not at the Lugano Paradiso stop. 1.3 CHF per person for the funicular, but easier than hauling your bags and luggage. The shopping area is all around the hotel. They even had complimentary soft drinks and water in the mini-fridge that was re-stocked each day, a first for us in Europe. Felt like a 5-Star hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions.

Can't think of anything we did not like about Luganodante Hotel.

Even the smallest room doesn't make me feel like I'm trapped, with good organization of the space. The rooms were completely renovated about two years ago so everything is in good shape. I asked for a quiet room and was provided with one, so I slept very well. The beds are comfortable and the bed sheets are soft and clean. The breakfast was exceptionally good, and the variety was a bit overwhelming. The location is superb.

The price. This time it was crazy expensive, especially for a 12sqm room.

The most important factor which made our stay awesome was simply the quality and genuine friendliness of staff. Always with smile on their face and going well beyond their responsibilities. Our 3 year old son got treated so well that he leant Italian words. We really felt welcome at this hotel. I travel quite a lot around world and this genuine service is quite very rare even in 5 star hotels. We will definitely come back.

That the hotel resto starts at 1900 :) with toddler it's quite hard to manage.

we LOVE Luganodante! From the check-in (and even before digitally) to check-out it was an overall amazing experience. It has been my 3rd time there but not my last. It was the 1st time since the total renovation and i LOVE the design. The bed is absolutely comfortable, the extra pillow menu super cool. Thank you for the free room upgrade - it was a pleasure. We also had dinner after a long working day at the FLAMEL Restaurant - a perfect experience from Cocktails to Dessert. The staff (reception and restaurant) are so friendly and always in a good mood, which is not usual recently. From our side a 12 out of 10 :-)

Lugano train station is at the top of the slope where the main town is located at the lower of the slope, please pay 1.30 for the funicular which will bring you to the door step of the hotel .. or it is also cover by Swiss Travel Pass. Once after check in, you will activate the free access to the transport also.We missed this and pushed our trolley down all the slopes. Room is modern design and clean. The breakfast spread is fantastic, best among our whole trip, lots of hot and cold varieties. Refer to pic for the subset of the hot food spread. 👍
