it’s a shame they don’t have a bistro.

I've stayed at the Gateshead Tavern Motel many times in the last ten years as most of my family are in Newcastle. As such, I know what to expect in terms of comfort and price and helpful staff; easy access to your car and a great pub, bottle shop attached and close to the city.

Um.., all good, but this time in Unit 9; I've never seen a totally black toilet before and it freaked me out a bit. Ha ha, true! But if that's the worst thing then there's nothing to complain about. I'll always stay there when in Newy.

I never have breakfast but did enjoy lunch and dinner at night. I was in Newcastle earlier than expected. I contacted the establishment, they were so friendly and accommodating. The room was ready and I received a message notifying me of this. All the staff are so polite and friendly - reception, bar, and the room service team. Where the tavern/motel is situated, could not be better. Close to the private hospital, large shopping complex and entertainment. Entry and existing the site, is not stressful.. I personally have no issues. Just a quiet, relaxing rest stop. Great shower, plenty of hot water, air-conditioning and a cup of hot coffee. What more could one want.

I cannot think of anything. The stay was all I required.

This budget accommodation Motel was exceptional value for money. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this Motel for any group booking, nothing was too hard for Cal to help out with when the Canberra City Band stayed in multiple rooms over Easter. Food and drinks are available on site and the Tavern is open 'til late so late check in is not a problem. I would stay here again.

We stayed there overnight for a concert we were attending, and we were so happy to have chosen this motel. The staff were friendly and nice, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and ready for us promptly upon our arrival. Kim and Neville went above and beyond, to help us out and get us to our shuttle bus stop on time. We highly recommend the Gateshead and will definitely be back. Thank you. 😊

There is nothing negative I can say

Good question, we waited for room service, and when that didn't happen, we sought food from a nearby outlet

The discontinued free day if we stay 7 night. Many locations such as yours will loose customers if there is no incentive to stay. We have been regular clients for many years, and the little thing that keep changing will eventually restrict our need for Gateshead Tavern

Extremly lovely staff!! Always helpful, The cleaners are beautiful and very easy to talk to. Always made sure we had enough towels and anything else we may have needed during our stay! The room was perfect for my sister and myself! Good showers too!

How small the bathroom was, was very tight but other then that it was lovely!

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I also won $500 on the poker machines which was lovely as my partner and I are under slot of financial stress and experiencing some temporary homelessness at this time so to take a chance putting $20 in a machine then winning $500 was awesome. So I'm happy we stayed with them and I'm sure we will stay there again. Thanks Guys for all your help. Kel n Nate.

Nothing I didn't like.

location is awesome, easy to get to, even if your not familiar with the area. Pub Menu, is small but the portion sizes are great. when our meals came out the patrons, saw the size of portions and started ordering it was great.

the air conditioner, was stuck in German language settings, thankfully a staff member was able to fix it, we could get the horizontal flaps moving, but weren't able to get the vertical flaps moving, blasting the wall of the room all night, eventually the cool air made it to other parts of the room. Literally the only negative of the stay,

It was cosy. Hot water, and they made the room up for us both nights. Close to 7/11 so we could get stuff for the room

No coffee machine as stated, we had to call up for the iron and hair dryer and also no kids area so we couldn’t go into the tavern.
