Mar Ipanema Hotel

the staff were all very friendly and helpful. our room was nicely styled we enjoyed the breakfast every morning a lot of the staff can also speak English which helped a lot

I wish there was a microwave and a kettle in the room. We were eating out all the time because of this and even when we had leftovers from the restaurant we couldn’t take it back with us because we didn’t have a way to reheat the food.

I stayed here with my 14 year old daughter. It was a lovely hotel close to everything. Fantastic Breakfast!!! Great Location. Nice Room. Marvelous View from 11th floor on the lake and Christo. Cool Roofterrace. Friendly Staff. I believe the hotel lets you borrow chairs and a beach umbrella for free. I did not take the opportunity because of the 'cold' weather but it's a nice gesture.

On Friday night the hotel's bar on the sidewalk had some loud music playing. It got really noisy in our room as if we had our windows open and were located immediately next to it but in fact we were staying on the 11th floor! I didn't mind so much though but I can imagine that people do.

Nice room, not huge and no balcony. But friendly and well run. The bar on the ground floor is a great place to hang out at night, good music and atmosphere. The best thing is that it’s in a busy, well lit and safe street, with all the shops and services you need close by. (the beachfront two blocks away doesn’t feel so safe at night)

Great place to stay in Rio in a fun neighborhood a few blocks from the beach, staff was super helpful and friendly and spoke English very well. It was fun to hang out in the roof bar and also very convenient to have breakfast downstairs, we even had a delicious dinner in the restaurant as well one night.

Sometimes we had to wait a bit longer for the elevator but it wasn't too bad.

The breakfast is very good, with a variety of breads, cakes and fruits, and the room is comfortable, although small. Also, the location of the hotel is wonderful! It is in the middle of Ipanema, close to interesting stores and two blocks from the beach. The staff is attentive and polite. I plan on coming back again.

The bathroom wall has glass bricks that let the light from the bathroom into the bedroom, which can be disturbing if one person is sleeping and another is in the bathroom.

Customer service very polite and helpful (check-in could have been expedited, but...) Location is perfect: Safe and centric. Super Gay/LGBTQ+ friendly. Room had a massive bed, It was big but also felt too tight.

Rooms could use a little bit of renovation and rethink of the space use. But they were nice and comfortable.

Mr. Pimentel and other assistants were very helpful and gracious. We were not happy with what was supposed to be an upgraded room ( though seemed less appealing than those on the images. Booking has the hotel listed as 4 star and those illustrated seem to be only the ‘Plus’ floor ones. In a central area next to good eateries etc and not far from the beach. The Plus room in its own floor was large and bed was comfortable. This is twice size of the room we had been upgraded to. Breakfast offers variety. Overall a good experience though I see that there are better priced properties with pool (4 star) available for much less...

No pool. The breakfast and seating did not respect distancing as it’s a well frequented bar /eatery that is more widely known than the hotel ( partnership likely). Gloves weren’t being used and ‘cause it’s open the general public this is more of a concern: not so clean. The TV is 11 years old so not ‘Smart’ connected.

They are under construction and just told us 1 day before the check in, so we are sharing elevator with works and they just elevators.

The breakfast is great and so is room service from their restaurant. All the staff is very helpful, polite and friendly. The location is the best in the city! Full of great restaurants and commerce around and super close to Ipanema beach.

The size of the room. It's a little bit too small with two small kids. But we didn't spend much time in the hotel anyway.

Late check-out wasn’t allowed by the staff, even though there were rooms available for booking.
