Grand Hotel London

I stayed at this comfortable, well located hotel for 7 nights - it is well positioned within easy walking distance of Varna's major attractions. My studio room was very spacious and well appointed, beautifully furnished with period peices. The a-la-carte breakfast offerings (included in my room rate) were great.

I was surprised to discover that only one bottle of complimentary water was supplied during my entire stay - it has been my experience in every other hotel I have stayed in that this is replenished on a daily basis. Also, I'd suggest going out for coffee, a long black at the hotel costs 6 lev!

Good location in the city center, convenient for work. Large rooms. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel is located in an antic building in the center of Varna. The owners gave it 5 stars for some reason - I would honestly give it 3! The hotel does not qualify for 5 stars. Once upon a time, he probably looked pathetic and presentable. But now everything looks depressing. The furniture in the rooms has traces of damage and has not been restored. The equipment is old. The elevator moves like a turtle. There is not even a bathrobe in the room - and this is a 5 star hotel!

I particularly enjoyed the location, and the parking just in front of the hotel (it's a public parking, not owned by the hotel, and subjected to availability). I have read several poor reviews of this hotel and I don't necessarily agree. I liked the room, the breakfast (although we have received a message from the hotel, about breakfast, which made us set quite low expectations :). We only stayed 2 days but I don't find the case for low expectations, I could say quite the opposite.

The bathroom needed some renovation. I could see the stains and damage from a previous leakage. The bathroom door was in a very bad condition. It's not very serious but not welcoming either.

We absolutely adore this hotel We were here in December 22,and loved it, and as my husband had his 70th birthday earlier this month I thought I know we're I can take him for a special treat, we had a 4 night break and had an upgrade to a jnr suite , just to make him feel extra special, and special it was we felt like a king and queen for the time we were there ❤️, the room was wow wow amazing and the staff were brilliant,nothing was too much trouble Well defo be back at some point this year love it And thank you all for making my husband special jubilee year so special for him xxxx

Very beautiful (and old) building at the heart of Varna. Spacious rooms, retro style decoration. Very friendly staff ready to help with all that you need. Exceptional breakfast - the guests are presented with menu and can make a choice of variety of options which are prepared at the moment.

If you travel with a car parking can be a problem: there is no parking at the hotel but just in front of it there is municipal parking. During the day it gets very busy (due to the central location) and one might not find a parking place at the parking and need to look for parking in the neighbourhood.

Room was very large, the bed was very comfortable. It was lovely and warm. The staff were helpful, polite and always had a smile for you.

We were disappointed that the bar was only open till 5pm and the restaurant was closed . This would be fine if you were informed when booking or on arrival. Having read all the wonderful reviews about breakfast we were left very disappointed. The eggs and bacon were both cold. This usually happens on a buffet breakfast. However there were very few guests in the hotel and breakfast was supposedly cooked to order!

Location was great. Bed was comfortable. The staff were nice and brought up an iron when we needed one. Room was clean. Breakfast was good for the price. We never left the breakfast hungry. I saw some poor reviews for the breakfast but I would say that they are incorrect.

For a 5 star, they could have refreshed our water every day. We understand that it’s an old building but there weren’t many outlets and we had to put the kettle on the floor to use it. An extension cord would have been nice to have in the room.

Everything was amazingly charming from the minute the taxi pulled up, Lovely welcome although 2am Very pleasant young man greeted us The room was fabulous, huge comfy bed, clean linen Staff all very friendly and extremely helpful

The breakfast was a little sparse in Variety but ok the young man on our 1st morning was very pleasant but the girl on the 2nd morning was a little ☹️ I asked for some hot water as it was cold for the tea , but i think she didn't like a complaint , but she didn't spoil our stay, it was fab

Exceptional location, right in the city center and within walking distance to the beach and most attractions. Despite the very central location, it was extremely quiet. The rooms are huge and beautifully furnished and the staff was very nice. Bottom line - great value for money, would recommend, will definitely stay again if in town.

The breakfast was good, but not really up to 5 star standards from a variety standpoint. The restaurant looks amazing though, so you can say it's not a huge minus, but it might be worth setting your expectations a bit lower.

The staff were great, really friendly, room was spacious and elegant, fitted with lots of antique furniture and tall windows. Bed was really comfy. Great place and close to the centre of Varna, everything to see is in walking distance

TV wasn't working, mini-fridge in the room wasn't working. Gym was 'under construction', in-house restaurant only served brunch and the menu was quite basic.
