Hôtel Saint-Paul Rive-Gauche

A great hotel in a super location with very friendly and helpful staff on reception -Valerie, Stephanie and the gentleman who started his shift after Valerie. (Apologies, I cannot remember his name.) It’s ideally located for some great bars and restaurants in a lively area, but the good thing is the hotel is on a quiet street. We had the best of both worlds. We slept well and the toiletries supplied were a good quality as were the towels. We will definitely return to stay here again.

The bathroom is on the small side but there is nothing the hotel can do about that. The shelf for storing all our toiletries was directly over the toilet so we had to remember to close the lid in case we dropped something and it disappeared down it.

The property and staff were welcoming and the room a good size for Paris. Air conditioning worked really well and much better than other places we’ve stayed in Paris. This hotel is in a neighborhood, yet only a short distance away from touristic sites like Luxembourg Gardens, Place Saint-Michel, Sainte-Chapelle, Notre Dame, etc. We were very comfortable here and felt safe walking to the hotel from the Odeon metro station at all hours.

There is nothing we didn’t like about the property. We love to walk, and were looking for something away from the busy tourist sites. We didn’t try the breakfast there as we were out and about for breakfast.

I really like the style of this hotel and I love the neighbourhood. The staff is very nice. I stayed at this hotel over a decade ago and everything is as great as I remember. The breakfast is of great quality, as were the macarons I ordered as an extra. Adding another night and a late check-out was easy. Efficient and prompt communication. WiFi worked fine. The height of the room and the extra long bed made up a little for the lack of square footage. I loved that I could let in plenty of fresh air through the large window and they respected my covid-hygiene-motivated wish to forego housekeeping.

Some small errors with in-room breakfast order (black tea instead of green tea I ordered; two coffees instead of adding a pot of hot water for my own tea the second morning). The room was really small and it was a bit cramped for two people (usual for Paris, though).

The decor is unique and quirky and everything I love about eclectic upscale interior design. The staff are the most helpful and friendly humans. Stephanie and Valerie were particularly lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed all of their recommendations and nice conversations each day.

It was just by chance that I stayed in this hotel due to the other Parisians hotels in the 3ème and 4ème arrondissements (where I usually stay) all cancelling my reservations due the shortage of clients during the pandemics. I didn't regret a second. Despite the lockdown in Paris, coupled with a curfew after 18:00, the hotel staff has made everything it could to maintain this stay as enjoyable as possible. They had even kept a dinner for me (as I was arriving to Paris after 18:00, i.e. the curfew time) and served it in a small room for me individually, so I felt like dining in a private restaurant. The four-stars hotels in Paris never offer anything luxurious, conventionally expected in other cities, alas. Nonetheless, my room was simple but convenient and absolutely decent. It had all basics needed and unfolded a cute view on a quiet internal yard. Likewise, the breakfast was simple but adequate and sufficient despite the limits placed on the hotels due to the lockdown. The receptionists were extremely helpful and pleasant both via phone and in person: it was an absolute delight to communicate with everyone in this small cozy hotel - merci cordial pour tout!

The staff have been wonderfully helpful and had some good advice for me.. The rooms wre clean and well set out, functional and very easy to access everything.a good location for those who love the left bank The toiletries in the bathroom were lovely . I am planning to stay again.

I now have a favorite hotel in Paris! Perfect location--easy to walk to all the major sites in the historic core, plus cafés and restaurants of all types are close by. The breakfast is healthy and has enough variety to keep you going until lunch (and the breakfast attendant, Kholia, is very attentive and keeps everything freshly stocked). Very comfortable bed and wonderful shower, quiet room and super staff (the front desk folks are very helpful and speak excellent English). I'll be back!

We had the continental breakfast in our room each morning. The coffee and baked goods were excellent. Service was quick. The best thing about the room was the quiet and super efficient air conditioning. It was 30 degrees when we were there and we are so grateful for a good a/c system. The windows blocked out pretty much all noise when closed and the curtains blocked out the light. So sleeping was good. The location was excellent.

The bathroom in our room was quite small but I am used to that in European hotels in the city centre. The towels could have been thicker and nicer for the level of the hotel. And a few more hangers would have been nice

The hotel is a little bit of a walk to the main touristy areas, but not bad at all. Several years ago we stayed at a different hotel in the same area, so we knew it was a good spot to be in.

The particular street the hotel is on, and the short walk to the main streets can feel a bit isolated. My wife would probably not have felt safe walking it alone. That said, two or more women/people would probably feel fine.

The staff Stephanien anna and valeria and the gentleman who worked evening shift were all extremely kind and and helping. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I liked everything it was wonderful. A superb stay.
