This is a small cozy hotel at Batignolles district of Paris. It is decorated in dark red colors, with some references to the time of 2nd empire (as follows from the name). It does look stylish! Nice combination of wallpaper, furniture and tiles in the bathroom. The location is convenient, the center can be reached by a pleasant walk, but there are many public transport connections as well (i prefer walk or cycle in Paris, it's too beautiful to traverse underground). The windows face the railroad leading to Saint-Lazare station. I particularly enjoyed the view of colorful trains going back and forth in the evening. The breakfast was good, but mostly French style, that is, don't expect scrambled eggs and bacon. On the other hand, it matched the hotel. The coffee for the breakfast was made in a "professional" coffee machine by an employee, so it was way better that the average "automatic" machine that you see in many hotels around. Overall, the stay was pure pleasure, it would be solid 10 if not the point mentioned below.

Personally, i strongly dislike any additional money transactions beyond what is common everywhere. This was the case of this hotel. I was asked to give 50 Eur deposit for the minibar. The money were returned at the check-out after the staff checked the room. Imagine i didn't have the cash. Than it would be likely holding/unholding money at my account (after some time). I don't take it easy, to be honest, i would prefer not to have minibar rather than to keep these transactions in mind. May be it's only my problem. As mentioned above, it would be solid 10 if not this issue. Note that it is also not mentioned in the house rules you see at the booking (this is a must in my opinion).

We had a lovely stay at Maison Eugenie. The location is great..the metro and bus station are right across the street. There are restaurants around the area, the hotel restaurant has good Spanish food! The bed was really big and comfortable and had multiple pillows. I personally book it for the old-fashioned French look and loved it, so if you are looking for modern rooms look elsewhere. I read few comments about noise before booking and was worried, but we didn’t have any issues. Our room was on the side street, but we didn’t hear any noise. Not even from the hallway. The employees were great, we even arrived super early and didn’t expect to get a room but they went above and beyond and got us checked in quicker than expected. The breakfast was alright, I looked forward to the croissant and french baguette each day.

Service was a bit slow from the cafe/breakfast area.

Breakfast and the coffee were really nice. I really appreciate staff preparing us an actual coffee during the breakfast! The staff were helpful and friendly. Room and the bathroom looked clean.

I noticed a few details that raised concerns about hygiene. Our bathroom items were rearranged, including our toothbrushes, during daily cleaning. I found my toothbrush positioned near the sink, laying. While these may seem like minor details, I would recommend being mindful of such situations. Additionally, the restaurant staff's aprons appeared quite dirty. Upon entering the hotel, a noticeable fry oil scent, likely emanating from the kitchen, greeted us. This smell persisted on our floor.

The room was much better than expected. It's perfect for a solo traveller or a couple. My balcony also gave me a great parisian feel. The room was cleaned daily, and everything was done perfectly. The staff are super nice. I forgot my EU plug, and they just provided me one when I arrived. They helped me find my way as well. Their breakfast was also great. Not only taste wise but also the number of options you have too was great. The hotel is right next to 2 metro stations and 2 bus stops. All can take you to landmarks or shopping stores. Overall, it was a great choice, and I will definitely stay here again once I'm back in Paris.

August 2023

We spent 5 nights in the hotel in July, in a quiet room with the windows facing Rue Dulong. We felt very comfortable. The room was very clean, staff very friendly, internet speedy, breakfast good. The hotel is conveniently located with metro, regional train station and bus stops right in front of the door. Contrary to our concerns about the railroad tracks along Rue de Rome, the surrounding area was quite nice, especially the square at Église Sainte-Marie des Batignolles. We would come back at any time.

We really loved the location close to the metro M line, some busses and the RER trains. We really enjoyed the breakfast bistrot-style restaurant. The food is Spanish, which is a bit “weird”, given that everything else is in a very classic Parisian style, but it was delicious (both the sweet and the savory food). The staff was a bit slow and never apologized for bringing the coffee when we already finished breakfast even though the restaurant was almost empty, but in general they were very kind. The room is very nice but everything is outdated, especially the bathroom (the furniture was chipped, there were permanent stains etc…). The room was overall clean but it’ s just about time to renovate.

The room was so cosy and pretty, the atmosphere was great and exactly what I expected. The bathroom was of good size and there was enough storage. The room was quiet and calm despite being close to the stairs and the elevator, and the bed and the pillows were very comfortable. Friendly service at the reception. I loved this hotel.

The options at breakfast were a bit slim to my taste but the variation was pretty standard on French levels.

Somehow not spectacular, but had everything for a comfortable stay. I asked for a room in the upper floors not facing the busy Rue de Rome, both was provided. Room was big enough, had some older wooden furniture, which I liked. Everyone was really friendly, bed provided for a good sleep. Very close to the metro, nice neighborhood, great park (Parc Clichy Batignolles) nearby. Healthy breakfast with organic juices, enough fruit.

Breakfast was good, as long as the crowd was mainly business people, but last day - though I arrived at the breakfast room just 15 min. after it opened - staff was overwhelmed by tourist group, things were already empty, guess cause the group helped themselves to pack lunch from the brekfast offers as well. Not really the hotel's fault though, maybe just have an eye on these cheapskates.

The room was lovely, great view from my balcony, nice bathtub, comfy bed, local TV channels, a lift, etc. The breakfast was beyond yummy and amazing and easily worth every penny. I would happily go back - in fact, I changed to another hotel as previously planned so I could experience a different district on the other side of the river and wished the entire time that I was back at Maison Eugenie. Definitely a nice place to stay!

There was nothing I didn't like!

Ideal location for tourists! Delicious chic breakfast, scrambled eggs, eggs, yogurt, granola, pastries, meats and cheeses, and coffee is brewed by very nice baristas. Very kind staff, very good service. The room has coffee and drinking water.

The window overlook a noisy street. We expected a bath in the room (like in photos), but got a small and old shower room. Booking shows two windows in the photo of my room, but in fact it was one. Instead of wallpaper - a soft fabric, it is very difficult to clean, so it is covered in stains and dust. The hair dryer didn't work in our room, so we were given the keys to the next room to dry our hair.
