Urban Elephant Suites

I would rate this place as exceptional. Rooms very comfortable; very clean. Location a 5 minute walk to train station and local busses. Shops everywhere. Bus to airport can be picked up at train station. Everything quite modern. Price was right. Great communication with off-site managers.

Of course no one is actually at the site. I had a bit of a problem getting in as there are actually two key boxes (apparently one for parking). There is a sign directly over the door with the parking key box saying Urban Elephant. The proper key box is on the (other) door to left; and of course, both key boxes accept 4 numbers. Oh well 🤭

The property was really easy to find and to check-in/check-out. The room was super clean with a bunch of clean towels and had everything we needed for 6day stay (iron, nespresso coffee, mini fridge). There is free parking on the street and around the apartment, but to be extra safe we booked parking place(10€/day) and it was easy to use and really good. Generally great experience for the money we paid and really nice stay.

It is a bit further away from the city center(if you walk 20-30min) but if you have a car it is 5 min away. The sound isolation is not really good and you can hear people from other rooms and cars on the street( we were lucky to have really good neighbors at the time of our stay they weren’t super noisy). Beds/mattresses could be renewed they are a bit old I think.

We originally had somewhere else booked but the accommodation wasn't suitable. We found the Elephant Suites and loved the modern look. We stayed for three nights, and it had everything we needed. The room has storage, a small safe, extra towels, air-con, tea and coffee and a TV. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was really nicely decorated. The hotel also has a lift. It's a little way from the centre, but still within walking distance. It's fairly central to the bay, shopping mall, the city and an area with lots of restaurants and bars (Ano Poli). We were booked on a few trips that met at Aristotelous Square which was a 2.4KM walk (about 20 minutes) so it's around 20-30 minutes walk from the centre of Thessaloniki. We checked in ourselves with a code. We booked on the day we arrived so it took a little while to sort out the questionnaire to get the code, but the staff communicated with us via WhatsApp. We had no issues getting in and out of the hotel. We didn't see anyone in reception during our stay, it said reception was temporarily closed. But you could pick up extra tea and bits from reception. There's also a little laundry area and kitchenette on the lower floor. Our room was spacious, and the view from the balcony was quite pleasant. We didn't use it during our stay as it's was quite small, but it was nice to have. If we ever visit the city again we'd stay here, or in one of their other properties (there were a few around the one we stayed in).

The shower in our room didn't drain too well. It wasn't too much of an issue, we just ran the shower at a lower pressure to make sure things didn't overflow. Not a dislike, but an observation. No expense has been spared on the renovation, but the hotel almost looks out of place in its surroundings. When we visited it was next to a closed shop, the buildings around aren't as modern, some are closed down and one behind the building is half built. This had absolutely no impact on our stay, though. The area was fairly quiet.

It was easy to self checkin even though I arrived quite late. The room was simple but comfortable and had everything that you needed. At night things were quiet and I could get a good rest. The location is relatively good being near the train station. The walk right into the center of the city is doable, although if you're doing it multiple times you would probably want to get a bus from by the train station. Overall, I would say good value for money!

There were only a couple of things that were slightly annoying. Occasionally, the code to get into the room didn't seem to work. I think you need to be quite careful about which buttons you press. Secondly, it took me a while to work out that the windows open by sliding as opposed to tilting which is what I'm more used to.These were not big problems though!

Overall, it was an excellent stay. The room was exactly like what we had seen in the photos and the staff memberrs that we talked on the phone to were polite and ready to answer our queries. We didn't have any problems entering the building using the instructions we had been sent by e-mail. The room included everything mentioned in the BOOKING.COM description. The air-conditioner was not working though. We informed the staff and Stathis, the person in charge of the building, came over and took care of the problem immediately. The following day we found a bottle of wine waiting for us with apologies for the inconvenience and a thank you note for being patient from him. A very polite person, indeed! Concerning the location, admittedly it is not a beautiful one but, since we were travelling by car, we opted for it on purpose as we knew there was ample parking space available in the streets nearby and around the building (Thessaloniki is notorious for its lack of parking space in the city centre). It is about 10' from LADADIKA and 15-20' from Aristotelous Square (on foot), which we knew about. We didn't bother using buses/taxis.

Location is good and the best thing is a private and safe parking (extra payment)

This is a good place to stay in Thessaloniki in close walking distance to the harbor and center. The door opens with a code they send you before you arrive. Our room was clean and had everything we needed - comfortable bed, desk, kettle, safe, fridge. The shower was spacious and had great pressure - honestly a big highlight. Check out the awesome Q Roasters coffee shop around the corner for good morning coffee ☕

⚫ We did not see a staff member once during our stay, not even in the morning. It was totally unclear when staff would be there, so there was no one to ask when we had questions or needed more toilet paper. ⚫ We confused this location with their other location, Elephant Suites, and went there first. Not sure why the names are so similar.

Very modern, upgraded facilities, good lighting, very clean

Two locations with similar names in which case I went to the first one which was incorrect, had to wait on the phone with customer services 30 minutes and then find the other location. Should consider changing name completely of the other location instead of "Elephant Suites" it is too similar to "Urban Elephant Suites" in which case is confusing for guest. Also, not having any staff there to change the coffee makers can be an issue when no one can have a coffee in the lobby or enter the building.

Modern clean interior, helpful (but remote) stuff. Comfortable common area at ground floor with tables. It is convinient to have a meal there or co-working. Good TV in room with Netflix and Youtube. Free Nespresso.

Access to laundry room has to be arranged with stuff. Usually laundry room was busy with hotel's linens. It is ok, but I suppose it should be announced in advance. Neighborhood quiet scary, but I don not have any problem during stay. The safe in room very small, document or laptop can't be fitted in.

The renovated, beautiful hotel caught my eye with its modern design. The fully automated setup, though lacking personnel, was quite unique. The room was excellently equipped, and I particularly enjoyed the fantastic terrace with its grilling facilities.

The surrounding area seemed a bit run-down and had a suburban vibe. The view from the hotel was quite disappointing, as it was obstructed by deteriorating buildings. It's worth noting that the non-functional coffee maker was a minor inconvenience and didn't significantly affect my experience.
