Suryaa Villa Jaipur - A Boutique Heritage Haveli

Nice looking property in a great location. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the pool and dining area were lovely. Some ok eating options in the same street. Property is clean and nice view from the rooftop.

Food options were pretty basic at the hotel. Some more varied options would be good. Strangely, the rooms have a main power switch on the outside and staff kept turning our power off during the day, I assume to conserve power?? We needed to keep the fridge on to store medication so we had to tape a sign to the switch telling them not to turn off.

The breakfast was very good and diverse. We had dinner at the hotel twice and found the food very tasty and good without being overly spiced/hot. The staff was very kind and helpful to organize taxis and sightseeing. It was great to relax in the swimming pool after a walk in the very busy Jaipur centre.

While helpful with the sightseeing they were not very helpful in clarifying how much time it would take to do the sightseeing (we visited the City Palace and the Amber/Amer Fort). The Fort is huge and typically requires 2 hours to visit, without counting the time to go there with traffic and the time spent at the City Palace and time for lunch. Thus instead of the four hours suggested by the hotel it took us significantly more time and we had to pay an additional fee that had never been mentioned. In a few words, this is not a serious issue, and partly our mistake. The rooms do not have a fridge. The hotel is a bit far from the city centre, which means that you will likely need transport to get there and back.

1. The hotel’s location. It was a calm oasis in a city where there is a constant roar of traffic and beeping of horns. This hotel was slightly set back from this, offering peace, safety crossing roads and a generally more safe feeling environment. There are a couple of other hotels and restaurants surrounding it, offering great food and a relaxing drink. 2. The staff were helpful, courteous and professional at all times. The hotel has a very ‘family run’ feel to it, which made you feel part of it and included. They also offered cookery demonstrations, Bhangra dancing and even yoga on some days. 3. It was all very clean, with a hot shower. The roof garden was lovely, we watched the kite flying contests from all the different rooftops. The kitchen staff offered food and drinks up there, which was all a great ending to our stay in Jaipur.

I was more than satisfied. Sometimes there was music from a neighbouring hotel, but I quite enjoyed this - it was better than traffic noise in other hotels we stayed at.

The ambience was beautiful. Warmth and initiate , as a home. Centrally located from heritage sites ( Pink City) Easy access to Meena Bazaar , traditional restaurants and also fusion restaurants.

We took a deluxe suite with double bed + 1 single bed. Room was spacious. The single bed, could be improved with its bedding and quality. It was creaking and shaky. Amenities could be improved. We carried our own toiletries, however hotel could provide for disposable tooth brush and paste. Shower head needs cleaning, and re-adjust the pressure. Water was trickling and leaking. Suggestion: Keep spare bin bags in the room.As I travelled with a baby, soiled diaper needed to be disposed. However staff was long enough to collect it everyday. Fridge could be stocked with soft drinks and juices. Can be charged on vacating the room.

Comfortable, hotel in a quiet location - away from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur. Serene garden and verandahs overlooking the pool great for relaxing in. Breakfast was not included but the menu picks were reasonably priced - I did not think the buffet was worth the money though. The reception organised a car for us for a day tour and a trip to Agra which was very convenient though perhaps shop around for competitive pricing just to be sure. Would recommend this hotel just for the peace and quiet!

Would be better if the shower was fixed in our room as the water sprayed everywhere and the bathroom was very wet. Hot water takes a long time to flow but was good in the end.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, always checking everything was ok, ensuring we had everything we needed and also helpfully organising a driver to take us out for the day. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated, the whole hotel was decorated really well. The food was good and reasonably priced, and nothing was too much for the kitchen staff. There are two nice restaurant/bars extremely close to the hotel so this made up for the distance to the main attractions. I would definitely recommend staying here for your visit to Jaipur.

The location was the only down side, however it wasn’t much of an issue as to get to the Old City it was around 100-150 rupees (£1-£1.50).

Breakfast not included and be warned that the buffet meals are only available if you are part of a group. We were 4 people and we had to order on the main menu. Buffet breakfast also not available if a large group is not staying so They won’t bother. And you need to order off the main menu. On booking it said that it was available for an extra fixed charge this is not true. And prices are different to what is advertised. We were charged individually for everything. No lift.

The location is very nice, in a silent little street yet easy to find and close to main attractions. The place is very beautiful, it is really a heritage hotel, owners are very kind too. There’s a bakery an many restaurants in the same street. Rooms are super clean and water pressure in the shower is amazing.

Staff is very kind but they really need to improve their manners as service is very bumpy. I was asked in non kind ways to come immediately to pick up laundry and pay cash and also to pay in cash in the restaurant. There are also communication issues in between them, they are not able to organise the tours and activities they propose.

Suryaa Villa is a spacious heritage property - a haveli turned into a hotel in the middle of Jaipur. The owner family runs it in a hands on way and looks after all operations, along with its well trained staff Pros: 1. Comfortable, air conditioned, large sized rooms with fast WiFi 2. Excellent restaurant with an exhaustive menu. The service staff deserves a special mention for their attentive and responsive service 3. Buffet breakfast - with a nice mix of Indian and continental food choices- possibly the best in the business 4. Great location - very central 5. Personalised attention to all guests 6. Housekeeping is super efficient: hot running water 24x7, extremely clean premises at all times, all essentials looked after and cared for well 7. Car parking with free valet service 8. Splash pool, Courtyard seating, Terrace restaurant 9. Progressive practices e.g. solar powered geysers, RO water in rooms 10. Before I forget, it’s a pet-friendly hotel!

Cons: 1. Access road is a partially hidden from view but it’s not a big issue 2. Some popular channels not available on the DTH service 😊

Very good room but the major bonus was the common area outside the room where there were tables and chairs with view of the pool below. Breakfast was as required and staff were very "Indian" by which I mean over attentive and rather than deposit the food and stand back kept enquiring as to 'more tea/more toast etc' but India this is and that's the way of the land so really can't complain. Enjoyed the stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Longer stay but Jaipur traffic these days is vastly more frantic than previous visit 8 years back but that's progress I guess.
