The Leela Mumbai

I’ve traveled the entire globe for over 30 years, and I can say that the Leela Palace Hotel and their exceptional service is a unique and truly worthwhile choice. We were treated like royalty the entire time, and no attention to detail was left out. Our amazing butler Keyur was top level, with an unmatched method to balance peace, discretion, high service, efficiency, speed and humor. Our butler Keyur would appear and disappear with quick service, anticipating all of our needs. It was magical. Don’t hesitate to stay at this iconic Leela Palace hotel, where you will be blown away by such elegant and humble service people, eager to complete their job with excellence, as our butler Keyur. Seriously, he and the Leela deserve some type of hospitality award. Thank you Mr Keyur butler, and the Leela team, a million times.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Leela Mumbai for five nights, and I must say it was a truly remarkable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the hotel's beauty and its ideal location. The Leela Mumbai boasts an exquisite ambiance that combines elegance with modern comforts. The amenities provided by the hotel were outstanding. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the necessary conveniences. It was a delight to indulge in the luxurious facilities such as the swimming pool and the spa, which added an extra touch of relaxation to my stay. One of the highlights of my time at the Leela Mumbai was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were incredibly attentive, helpful, and friendly, making me feel welcome and valued throughout my stay. I must give a special mention to Rohini, who always greeted me with a warm smile and genuine care during breakfast service. Her sincerity and natural approach were truly refreshing and set a positive tone for the rest of the day. Such impeccable service in the morning truly made a difference. I also want to express my gratitude to Akshay and Sandeep at the concierge, who went above and beyond to locate a few items for me and ensured their swift delivery to the hotel. Their dedication and efficiency were commendable, and I greatly appreciated their assistance. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the Leela Mumbai, and I would like to thank the entire staff for their exceptional hospitality. It was a pleasure to be surrounded by such genuine care and attention to detail. I will definitely consider returning to this fantastic hotel in the future.

We stayed here for one night prior to our flight home to London after spending 10 nights in India. The hotel is in a great location for the airport and feels like a resort hotel rather than an airport hotel which is nice. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a deluxe suite on check in which was a very nice surprise. The room was huge with a separate sitting area with sofas and desk, dining room, small kitchenette, bedroom, main bathroom and separate toilet. The decor is a little dated but all very comfortable. The pool and surrounding area was very nice and relaxing. We ate in the Indian restaurant Jamavar and service was good, food presented nicely and tasty. Breakfast in the morning was served in the main restaurant called Citrus, it was fine with lots of choice and cooking stations taking orders for eggs, dosas etc.

Decor a little tired and dated in the main corridors and the room.

The hotel is only a few minutes from airport. It smells and looks lovely. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We loved that we weren’t forced to use their own taxi and they were happy to get a ‘street taxi’ for us. The Indian restaurant is superb and Aneesh made our dining experience very memorable. We’ve stayed in other similar priced hotels in India and felt very out of place, however did not experience this here and made to feel welcome. There is something for everyone at breakfast.

The hotel didn’t have our reservation when we checked in and after travelling for over 15 hours we just wanted to go to our room and shower etc. they were quick to resolve this while we waited in the lounge/bar area.

Our stay was just perfect in every sense. Be it comfort, cleanliness, service, food, value or quality - everyone and everything at Leela made it worth the choice. Right from the get go, it has been such a relaxing experience. We returned here after several years but the property is so well-maintained despite having been in business for almost decades now. They have upgraded and updated their services to ensure the highest standards. It offers the best of authentic hospitality combined with a touch of modernity. The staff is oh so helpful - be it the ones who have been there for over 30 years or the new ones - service runs at the heart. And you HAVE to try the Jamavar restaurant! We had the Veg Biryani - it was simply amazing and the best part - they cooked it based on our request and it was so tasty! And the paan to complete at the end was delicious. Even the breakfast spread thanks to Chef Kamlesh and his team - it was absolutely delicious. Never seen such quality food in a buffet, every dish looks and tastes fresh as ever. Loved the Usal Pav and Chole Bhatura. Except the chai which could be better! Special mentions to Nikhil, Anil, Naitik, Ganesh, Kartik, Rohini, Anil, Azim, Dev, Illa, Harish and Nikita for making our stay oh so special and memorable. Loved every bit of it and recommend it for a short or even longer stay!

The Chai!

1. A traditional welcome with namaste from all the staff starting at the security gate to the check in counter. 2. Cooperative and professional staff at check-in counter. Another staff showed us the property facilities and then took us the the room. 3. Rooms was neat and clean. It has a nice fragrance upon entry. Beds were comfortable and cozy. Bathroom facilities were hygienic and well maintained. 4. My parents visited the hotel spa. Mr. Amit welcomed them and gave them a good price for their spa treatment. My parents had a relaxing and calming spa session, the freshness on their faces said it all. They were given green tea at end of their session along with vouchers to use again at their next visit. 5. Variety of Indian dishes at the breakfast every morning. They have live dosa and egg stations. A delicious spread of fresh lassi and smoothies which is rare to get at breakfast. Chef try to accommodate any special request you have. 6. One of the best points for this hotel is that it’s just 5 mins away from Mumbai Airport. Even in traffic it shouldn’t take more than 15 mins to reach there.

The premium city view room is not sufficient for 3 adults. It is quiet spacious for 2 adults but after adding the extra bed, it was little cramped up and got little difficult to move around.

Hotel was lovely and the staff were so lovely, all of them! I felt very looked after whilst there and anything I needed was made available so quickly. The concierge Pargat Singh was especially helpful, including prior to me arriving he went over and beyond to help me book travel, book restaurants, help me with finding my way around and in all honesty making my trip to Mumbai a comfortable and rememberable one. Fantastic customer service.

The prices of buying a juice were steep - a carrot juice was nearly £8 which is expensive in london where I’m from, let alone Mumbai. The price quoted for the taxi pick up is also quite expensive, when you are able to get an Uber for less than half the price (sorry)

All staff were courteous and professional and greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was exceptional with a wide choice of menus, special thanks to Kamlesh Kumar Choubey who went out his way to speak to us and explain the business end of running the kitchen, this was most interesting. He and the rest of the catering staff continually asked if we were satisfied with the service and the menus, this was well appreciated. The taxi service from and to the airport was excellent and again professional with quality. Our day excursion into Mumbai was wonderful and again special thanks goes to Azim who was courteous and arranged all the visiting places efficiently and we had additional commentary all through the trip which was very welcome. A truely magnificent experience in 5 star accommodation.

Wished we could have stayed longer !!! Could not fault anything.

I think this was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! Location: It's located practically next to the airport. Centrally located in Mumbai, you can go anywhere easily (as far as it's possible to go anywhere in Mumbai!) For people taking flights, it's really a great place to stay in. Ambience: What can I say? I didn't even feel like it was in Mumbai. Spent the evening in the outside seating at the bar and it was so relaxing with very light background music that didn't bother my ears. Why don't other hotels / bars stop playing loud music? Great place if you actually want to relax and / or chat with other people instead of becoming deaf. The coffee shop was very comfortable as well. Staff: Very friendly, very responsive, and very professional. Truly five star service! Food: I can still taste the desserts at breakfast. So much variety and I hogged so much because everything was delicious. I will definitely try to stay in this hotel again if only for the food!

Room: Okay, no openable windows in the whole hotel, so it was mildly difficult for me. But the room was spacious enough to not trigger my claustrophobia. Please have some openable windows! View: Unfortunately overlooking a slum. But what do you do; it's Mumbai!

Choice of breakfast is phenomenal. Really like the view from the coffee shop of the waterfall. The service at the indian restaurant was par excellence. I think Nagaraj/Illiaraj (dropped his card) the manager was very attentive. Server at my table, a Nepali gentleman was kind to get me some dal with my Galauti kabab's. Was taken care of and felt at home!

View from my room was a bit sub par. Am also surprised the reception did not have my details on record as I must have stayed here atleast a few times in the past. I guess minor inconveniences...:))))
