Bush Hotel

Great location in the town with excellent parking facilities. Hotel was like a museum (in a good way) with lots of local memorabilia to see and read about. Fascinating history available to guests. Breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely nice and helpful. Hotel was very quiet as it was mid-week and no functions on. Maybe different if there was a big party in the function area below our room.

Hotel was a little 'tired' in places and the decor looked slightly past it best. However after the last few years of disruption this is not surprising. Not sure why the main bar was always closed but the local bars in the street were great so this was only a minor negative point.

The room was spacious and comfy, loved the old style of the building, the breakfast was lovely and the check out receptionist Dee was also lovely, very friendly.

The hotel was way too warm for us, the Australian receptionist rang me when we were on route to see if we were still coming and said we might have 'forgotten' which was just bizarre and irritating. Then on arrival she was hard work, terse and gave us no info about breakfast time and check out time and we couldn't pay cos she said she'd shut the till after asking us if we wanted to pay now! Otherwise everything else was excellent.

We had a super short stay for one night. The night receptionist (I think her name was Dee) was exceptionally nice. The other staff were helpful. The lady that booked us in was professional but a bit cold and short. Our room was very comfortable and super clean. The hotel is beautiful. Parking is great and safe. Food is adequet and nice. Don't expect pub sized food, it is more normal portions which is nice as you don't waste food. Right in town centre so it's ideal for shopping and walking around the beautiful city.

Some weird characters (non english speaking) constatly smoking at the side door alley entrance, and giving people a look but I cannot blame the hotel on that unless its staff but they were not dressed as.It made us feel at unease but again the town itself and hotel is safe and nice. My only complaint if any is that booking.com showed only 1 room remaining before we booked and the hotel seemed pretty empty to us. We had dinner/breakfast in an empty diner so not sure how could the hotel be fully booked but again its nothing against them.

Nice room , good value. Hotel close to everything. Nice effort at little mementoes adorning the walls and on barrells in the corridors .

I went to the bar balcony at 7 a.m Sunday morning. An male member of staff asked could he help me , and I asked if it was possible to get a coffee ? He replied that service didn't start until 7.30 ; which had me wondering , why even ask if I needed anything !? As the coffee machine was a simple push button affair I found his attitude strange . Ask if I needed anything then quote rules that i was happy to go by only he seemed eager to be helpful, then wasnt lol The full ' Irish ' breakfast had steamed mushrooms, tasteless , bland .

What incredibly friendly staff, from the ladies on reception, the restaurant staff and the waitresses at breakfast all were a delight to come into contact with, superb service. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the icing on the cake was the upgrade to a wonderful suite, impressive to say the least. The dinner in the Bistro was excellent as was breakfast the following morning. Would definitely stay here again.

There were a couple of hen night parties in the hotel with music until after midnight but to be fair didn’t cause too much upset.

After I booked the last available room online I contacted the hotel to enquire if we could be allocated the Michael Collins room as I had read some lovely reviews about the room. The hotel very kindly gave us the room and it did not disappoint. It was like stepping back in time, there are a lot of interesting artifacts on display in the room and some great reading to be done with all the news paper clippings that are framed on the walls. This was our first time staying in The Bush Hotel and I can genuinely say it exceeded our expectations, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel itself is very central, car parking is complimentary and is situated right behind the hotel. Our breakfast was piping hot and delicious. We will definitely be returning to this hotel very soon.

Breakfast was an additional 12.50 euro. A little on the expensive side given that I was a resident. That said. The breakfast was tasty and the overall cost of BB was very competitive when compared to the rate on offer in the nearby Landmark Hotel.

The room was lovely and the breakfast was beautiful. The hotel is steeped in history, I loved looking at all the photos ect .

The price we paid , I think the breakfast should have been included .it was Friday night , but I still think it was expensive for a room only .

Have to admit I was very impressed with how prompt Laura replied to my inquiry via email. And made notes of my request etc. Lovely hotel old world charm about it. Staff were all local and friendly. Room was amazing and absolutely hugh. Great value for money. I also ate both breakfast lunch and dinner in their restaurant. Again outstanding service and food. Keep up the great work guys. Stayed in this location a couple of times now. It's a quirky and wonderful gem of a spot located in the center of town. It has gone through some management changes the past year I believe, but it is still maintaining it's great standard and approach that has made it such a wonderful spot for 3 decades. Great onsite bar and restaurant with friendly staff always willing to help and advise about what you can do around the town and further a field.
