This is a great budget Hotel in the center of the City, it is close to all the attractions that Dublin has to offer. The trams are located within a 1 minute walk of the Hotel, which are a great way to get around Dublin. The Hotel is clean, has really friendly and helpful staff - this is not The Ritz, it is basic but comfortable and clean - in terms of location, it is great.

We had a 2 night stay, we went to the Hotel at night to sleep, and left each morning at 9am to explore the city. Staying in a City you will get some street noise - but after a long day out and about, it did not bother us.

Great customer service (they offered us another room if we would like to have less noise under the window). There was no need to leave a cash deposit (just a copy of a card at the reception). Location is fantastic if you want to be in the center of Dublin. Great traffic connection as well.

There was some trouble with the shower so the maintenance took a while to get it repaired. Once it was done everything was great but it would have been nicer if everything worked properly.

The room was very clean. I told the receptionist that I like sleeping in very warm rooms, so they gave me an extra heater(although it was warm before that). I slept like a baby. All the receptionist that I met were smiling, warm, very friendly and ready to help. The hotel is very close to the city center and just a few steps away from the high street where you can find food, shops, cinema and even an Irish tavern with Irish country music and dancing (amazing!). If I go to Dublin again I definitely will stay at the Gate hotel again. I highly recommend it to all.

I guess it's obvious it is not a 5 star hotel. But the stairs were a bit too old for a hotel and the bed was comfy and soft, but also needs changing soon. But these were minor things, especially considering the low price. I would definitely recommend it.

This was our last night in Dublin and we chose this hotel for its location and price. We were about 20 minutes from Dublin airport, with airport coach (8 euros) five minutes away. The hotel is old and would benefit from some redecoration and less creaky floorboards, but our room was cosy, clean and comfortable with everything you needed to hand - comfortable beds and fresh bedding, overnight toiletries, efficient shower, tea/coffee tray, television, wifi, iron, hairdryer, efficient heating. Booking in straight forward and pleasant reception staff member with sense of humour. We were warned of possible noise from nearby pubs, especially as World Cup was on, but apart from expected bouts of loud cheering and boiler quietly kicking in through the night, all was well. On leaving, we were greeted by a second bright and friendly receptionist asking if we had enjoyed our stay and wishing us a pleasant journey home. It was a lovely end to a brilliant 5 days in Ireland. Thank you Gate Hotel :>

I saw quite a few negative reviews. They mostly complained about the noise. If you’re staying in Parnell Street you should obviously expect noise ? It’s the middle of Dublin City? It’s a cheap hotel in Dublin however the security was excellent, staff were very friendly and the rooms were really nice. Having read all the negative reviews I was quiet nervous I’d made a mistake booking but after having stayed there I would 100% stay again.

There was a window quiet high up that I couldn’t close and the staff weren’t able to close it so it made it quiet chilly. However, I didn’t realise there was literally a pole in the room to help close the window. Maybe the staff could just make that a bit more clear.

The staff were so friendly, the room was really clean, with comfy beds. The location was so central. We stayed for gig in The Academy which was a 5min walk away and then finished the night in Fibbers which is the bar downstairs. Great night!! I left 2 of my rings behind and called a week later when I realised I'd lost them and they had them kept safely for me at reception.

The hotel is old, no lift and the corridors are a bit grubby but the room was immaculate

The property was clean and well-kept. I was surprised when I walked into the room and saw two double beds as I was expecting two single beds. This was a great surprise and the beds were extremely comfortable, so I had a great night’s sleep. The location of the property was perfect. It is located in the city centre and is close to everything. You don’t have to worry about getting public transport to get close to things to do in Dublin. The location of the property allows you to walk to everything.

The room got very hot and even with the fans provided, the heat of the room could become uncomfortable at times. Windows were open but there didn’t seem to be fresh air entering the room. The room was also very dark. It would have been useful if there was a light on the ceiling of the room, but instead there were lights on one side of the wall of the room.

We asked for 2 rooms close together and we got rooms right next to eachother. Room was basic but had everything we needed and is in a very good location to explore the city. There is a tram stop right outside and its very close to one of the dublin bike stops which we used mainly to get around. Staff were friendly and helpful and always on reception. They arranged a taxi for us to get back to the airport on the last day (with no notice) and also let us store our luggage as we had a late flight. Great location!!

All amazing except outside noise which ofc is no fault of the hotel!! Our rooms were on the front of the property so when everyone comes out of the bars drunk, they tend to linger outside waiting for taxis etc (between 2am-4am ish) and its very noisy so you get woken up/cant sleep!

Location is perfect, just near the city's most famous street, walking distance to the pub district (Temple bar) and pedestrian street, river, bar, cafes. Airport shuttle stop and our tour starting point was just few walking minutes away. Friendly and very helpful staff.

As already informed by hotel at their profile, there is a bar downstairs so till around 2 am there is a noise (music and crowd noise) coming from outside. Some days more loud but we were tired and still slept well. We knew it will be like that, worth the location and price. But do not book if you look for silence and bird songs :)

It was a nice hotel with great helpful staff, our room as clean the bed was really comfortable, hairdryer and iron in them, we had a choice either the 2 single beds or open the other door in that room was a double bed and shower room.

The only negative thing I would say was the radiator in the double bedroom needs bleeding, had the gentleman who checked us in been on when we checked out I would have told him,it makes the gurgling noise.
