Majestic Hotel

The location is beautiful and close to centre of everything + wonderful sea views from the front of the hotel busy

we ate in the bar - our meal wasn’t good ,both were just warm ,mine was very disappointing +a dry piece of chicken ,veg + lukewarm mushroom sauce in a jug ..The waiters were very few and very bus at the bar .not their fault. 4* breakfast .. Not this time !! No pastries .croissants or anything continental and we ate early 9:15am but the basket remained empty …pity as I was hungry following unappetising bar food the evening before…Big wedding the precious night + hotel busy but No excuse .

The room was recently refurbished and the bathroom was lovely.

The breakfast was good except limited and they were slow to refill bowls, juice etc

I stayed in one of the newer refurbed rooms - very nice indeed. Front desk staff were super friendly and professional. The only drawback was the breakfast - we went down at 9:30 and everything was pretty much gone, so we were either standing around waiting on the food to be replenished or just taking whatever was left. It made for a very frantic start to the morning. €25 is charged for breakfast and it’s most definitely not worth that much. Also - major cross contamination between each section in the hot food - black pudding and tomato next to eachother using the same utensil. I’m vegetarian so I was put off by that big time.

The only minus was the breakfast If you’re used to a good quality Brekkie, I’d say book the room without breakfast and head down the town for food instead, it won’t cost €25 that’s for sure

Sent Our meal in the bar .very unsatisfactory, it was cold , meals were not served together, pasta had to go back to kitchen to be reheated as it was fridge chilled .my fish meal was also cold and one child did not get his meal until we had all finished

Spacious room, clean and comfortable. Staff very nice overall.

Got steak from the bar menu, though nice, was very overpriced for what you got. Very hard working young girl in the bar on the Saturday evening, very pleasant. Chef came out and gave out to the young barman behind the bar in front of residents.......very unprofessional......keep grievances back of house!!

Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable room. The desk with overhead lighting was particularly useful, as I had to work. The WiFi was fast and reliable. Everywhere appeared clean. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach and promenade.

The room was well equipped, but a mini fridge would have been a bonus. The hotel is a little dated, but they make up for it with friendly staff, and little touches like free newspaper and bottled water. My room faced the rear, and there was a hum of a generator, or something, all day and night which made it hard to sleep. I would stay here again but I would go for a room at the front.

I take my special needs brother frankie here every year for his birthday, he loves to stay at the majestic hotel, we are made feel very welcome, while it was quite expensive to stay there this year, I could only afford 1 night as appose to 2 nights, it was and always will be a beautiful experience.

There's nothing that I didn't like everything was great,,staff are extremely friendly especially in the bar, excellent service, if I had to be a little critical I suppose for me, while I don't like to be critical or in anyway confrontational I didn't like the staff on breakfast duty, they weren't rude to us but I could clearly see and hear them discussing a guest, I understand we all like to have a gossip but for me i don't like to see that, other than that it was a lovely experience.

The staff and the food were excellent and the lady in reception was above and beyond helpful to us during our stay.

The shower was the old fashioned kind that shared a button with the bath the you have to press to get the bath tap to work...the door to the shower was loose and the water came out onto the floor....my mother wanted to have a bath as she has mobility issues and can't really stand in a shower but unfortunately there was no plug in bath so we couldn't use it. Other than those issues the room was perfectly fine. Although could use a few extra channels on TV as we had early nights to bed.

excellent location within walking distance of the prom. lovely and clean, quality of the facilities is excellent. the breakfast was fantastic, had everything you could want for breakfast

it says there’s on site parking but it’s actually on street parking. when I rang the property to ask if my child who’s only 1 meant I needed to book to include 3 people on their website they said I did, which is pretty unusual given her age, we stayed in another hotel recently and under 2 was free as she can stay in the double bed with us. I got same room for €30 cheaper on booking.com. check in wasn’t until 4, and check out at 11, completely shocked by that considering the price for one nights stay.

Efficient use of space in room and very well decorated, have stayed in larger rooms that felt empty/cold, a standard room here was far superior. Breakfast includes continental and cooked options and as a vegan I was able to eat some of the cooked food. I asked if it were fried in butter and the employee immediately knew the type of oil that was used without needing to consult the kitchen - which made me feel like less of a nuisance. There are plenty of nice walks by the sea air and fun activities nearby for children, as well as restaurants and a nice little garden centre.
