Hotel Villa Ceselle

Walking down a meandering path set in beautiful lush green gardens I walked into reception and was greeted with a warm friendly welcome. My room was large, bright and opened onto a terrace overlooking the gardens. The bathroom was large with bath and shower. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit,sweet cakes & croissants ,cheeses,salami ,eggs and plenty of coffee & tea options. This is a family business everyone is so friendly & helpful. It's a little bit further out but is only 10-15 minute walk to the main piazza of Anacapri. If you take a taxi from Marina Grande expect to pay 35 euros plus however the scenery is worth every cent ! May be the bus on the way back .

It’s a beautiful, well run, sophisticated space in Anacapri. We loved the fact it was a quiet haven well away from the madness of Capri. The staff were lovely without exception. The breakfast was perfect with friendly people and great coffee on tap. It was just a short walk to the centre of Anacapri which was beautiful. A wonderful place.

There was nothing we didn’t like. A couple of points to mention though: Capri is very busy indeed so getting off the ferry and finding a taxi to the hotel took time and patience in the heat. The hotel pool isn’t at the hotel, but the hotel does provide prompt free transfers (but the pool isn’t free). It is however one of the best pools and restaurants I’ve ever been to with incredible views and we had a very memorable day - but the total bill brought tears to the eyes. In summary this place is truly wonderful but not for those on a budget!

The property is nice, clean and well maintained. The breakfast in the morning is wonderful and the setting in the garden is just peaceful and gorgeous.

When I made the reservation I forgot to change the number of occupants of the room to 2, so when we got to the check-in counter they charged me an additional 30 Euros for my husband. I booked a double room as me and my husband celebrated our 12th anniversary so I found it a bit distasteful to charge additional for the second person. I have worked in hotels and stayed at many different hotels around the world and never had to pay for the second occupant of a double room. Also, the beds are two single mattresses pushed together, so it constantly opened in the middle during the night, and was uncomfortable. Regardless, it was a very good stay overall.

+ Size of the room + Aircon. Although the upper floor (bedroom area) is so hot that it was impossible to sleep there. Had to sleep on downstairs sofa. + Breakfast. Quite basic, not bad, not great. Bread, yougurt, scrambled, some fruits, Juice, ham and cheese on breads. + Lovely garden + Anacapri much more nicer area and quiter than Capri, so location.

- Aircon. The upper floor (bedroom area) is so hot that it was impossible to sleep there. Had to sleep on downstairs sofa. - Bad water pressure in shower.

Quiet, peaceful, friendly staff. Rooms are gorgeous and I had the cutest terrace. 5 minute walk into AnaCapri (the quieter part, maybe 10 mins to the centre) - which is so quaint and lovely. Lovely coffee at breakfast and nice selection of continental items.

This is nothing to do with the hotel but a word of advice if you are in the garden - stick to the path as I encountered many lizards and a small (surely harmless) snake in the grass (and I probably shouldn’t have been stomping through it off the path!).

We are so glad we chose to stay at Villa Ceselle - what a wonderful find! Our room had a lovely terrace but if that wasn’t enough there was a beautiful roof terrace with day beds and shaded areas. The location was great, within easy walking distance of the centre of Anacapri and options for scenic walks further afield. The staff were helpful but we were especially impressed by the kindness and courtesy of Rosa. She is a credit to the hotel.

A beautiful location in Anacapri, we are looking forward to visiting again. The hotel arranged dinner reservations for us at the sister hotel along with a shuttle - the most amazing view of our whole trip. The next day we booked a private boat tour through the hotel as well and again it was a highlight! Only thing we would change is arranging for a taxi ride to the hotel after arriving on the ferry, the bus was crowded and the walk was long with our luggage in tow- they are very helpful with arranging transportation as they got us a taxi for when we checked out. Highly recommend!

However, the location was sweet, clean, conveniently located to the area attractions and the landscaping very attractive. The smell of jazmine in the air from a nearby trellis...incredible!.

The air conditioning only cooled the lower level (we were in a Quad Room with an upstairs and downstairs/loft). The people downstairs were freezing and we were too warm. Also, the man, at check out, did not like or agree with the decisions involving our lodging that the staff made the previous day upon our arrival. He wanted us to be charged more...it was an uncomfortable situation to be in the middle of. And, I didn't appreciate feeling pressured into a different financial arrangement than what I already agreed to and had paid the previous day.

The staff was excellent, very friendly and so helpful. They suggested various restaurants in the area and shared travel options via bus or taxi. Breakfast was excellent. Location was good. The only negative was the safe in our room was not working properly but all else was excellent. The grounds were beautiful and well kept with lots of our own green space. I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel and grounds. We were surprised that most of the properties in Anacapri had tall walls and private gardens (including this hotel) versus the views we expected on an island up a tall hill. Breakfast was good

There was no bar or place to enjoy happy hour. It’s a quick walk into town but would have been nice to have alcohol for sale to enjoy the evening at the property.
