Hotel La Ville

The staff was so nice and helpfull, they did not speak english fluently but they tried to communicate. :) Breakfasts were okay: croissants, toasted bread, salami, cheese, cakes and many different things to choose :) You can drink juice, water, tea or coffee. Basic breakfasts but really tasty : ) Rooms were spacious, clean and comfy. The hotel is places close to the city centre, 10mins to Via Etnea, and 2mins to bus centre which is really goos if you want to travel around the East Sicily.

There is a one thing which we didnt like when it comes to this hotel… the area around this property :( it is located on a very dirty and scary street :( so if you want to check the night life in Catania choose something different, cause you will not feel safe while going back to hotel.

Location is great in relation to the main train and the coach station. Easy walk to the main cathedral square. The neighbourhood is not exactly clean, however, the hotel is spotlessly clean. The hotel is in an old building with thick walls, so the rooms are cool even when outside temperature is 44 C. We even switched off the aircon from time to time. Rooms are larger than one gets in large hotel chains. Nice breakfast with cold cuts, cheese and freshly baked warm pastries. Staff were helpful and handled the city-wide water outage well. Always responded to queries on Whatsapp promptly.

We liked the location due to short way to the Sentral Bus Station and Sentral Station. Our room was big and comfortable. The service was exceptional, espessially Natia and Melena: always polite and helpful, friendly, fast and smiley.

We didn`t like the nearby area. The streets around are dirty. They have an iron, but no iron board. Simple breakfast. We would like to have some more to choose from. All the staff should be able to talk english.

Gaitano was a great host, always friendly and even a breakfast at 6.30 was no problem.

The Hosts are very nice and kind people, very very hospitable. I was earlier at the hotel and Host Lady prepared me a room earlier, I got the breakfast also that day which was very nice after long trip. The room itself is very clean, nicely smell, it's warm, has all cosmetics available and all replaced when asked. The bed is very comfortable. All pictures shown on the website are facts how the room and whole hotel look like. The breakfast was good, always served with tea and coffee to the table. It is a good place to go to the city center, only 1km away, walking distance. The hotel offers airport transfer which I took and was nicely drove to the destination. I had a nice time there, rested, relaxed and will recommend this place. A presto! :)

The host at the reception was amazing. The service and the attention to detail from him was more than we expected. We booked an airport shuttle for 4 in the morning at a very reasonable price (40 euros) and were served delicious european breakfast just for us two before leaving at such early morning time. The shuttle was very comfortable, great car and driver.

The dishes at a kitchen counter of the room were a bit dirty. Also there was only 1 water glass and no appliances to wash the dishes

Room was very clean and spacious with 2 balconies on a small street. Staff was very nice and Gaetano also prepared a good coffee prior to my early morning flight along with other breakfast items. Breakfast included fresh bread, warm croissants and pastries, different fruit and juices, cereals, and good coffee and the lady (I did not get the name sorry!) also made sure we had gluten free and dairy free items for my son, along with a variety of milk. Thankyou! These little things matter a lot!

The area outside is not the cleanest but this is beyond the control of the hotel as it is more or less like that around the centre

Good location, 10 minutes to the station, not so far to the historical centre. The hotel is clean, stuff is fine. Furniture is maybe older, but ok. Breakfast is quite good. Shampoo and soap in the bathroom.

Near street was full of garbage, but unfortunately it is almost everywhere in Catania. We had an apartment with a small kitchen, so one can expect some dishes there - plates, spoons etc.,but there were only 2 glasses. There is also an induction stove, but no pot or frying pan, so I am not sure how it is meant by the staff - if guests can cook there or not.. Maybe it's better to offer the apartment as just a room. We did not plan to cook, so for us it was not a problem. The window is oriented to the inner yard (it was quiet at night) and is tinted, so it was a bit dark inside.

Our second room was lovely - spacious, airy and comfortable. It was the best of 10 or so on our trip. Overall the property combined old world charm and character with modern facilities. Very hand for the bus station. Lovely staff

When we arrived, we had been assigned room 101! It had no outside window and I was very disappointed. But I had a word with the night porter, and he arranged for a better room the next night.

The breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful at all times, especially Gaetano. The place was kept very clean with plenty of towels supplied.

The hotel exterior signage is very small so it was difficult to find it. The sign needs to be bolder and illuminated. It would also be very good to have detailed directions to give the hotel as streets are not properly signposted. It would be good to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
