Corte Meraviglia - Relais0

Having said that wherever you are in Lucca you are never more than 20 minutes walking from any attraction, Corte Meraviglia - Relais is no more than 10 minutes (and often much less) from most of the famous sites and places. The room I stayed in was spacious and well equipped, with a large window, several light points, a comfortable bed, a large mirror, and it was extremely quiet. The bathroom too was provided of everything you need, with a large shower cubicle. Did not have breakfast included but tea and coffee were free and the coffee machine did a good brew. A large court with garden must be really enjoyable in good weather.

I would suggest to add a blanket as an alternative to the duvet because the first night I felt a bit hot. Also some lubricant to the hinges of a noisy door and a piece of string to keep the window open

- Right in the historic center next to everything - Gorgeous place, the garden area is such a nice addition - Soft comfortable bed (might be too soft for some people's taste but I was very comfortable) - Staff was very nice and helpful giving tips where to eat etc - Signing in was super simple, same with leaving - Free coffee/tea and cold water in bottles

My room window was facing a little inner area between the buildings, some apartment in the same building (not people from Corte Meraviglia) were watching TV quite loud late in night, so I couldn't keep the window open to fall asleep.

The location was excellent in the centre of the Lucca. We had been travelling to other cities and this was our last stop so we wanted somewhere we could relax - we weren’t disappointed! We had our own terrace from our ground floor apartment and also a large garden to relax in for drinks or to read in between exploring Lucca’s narrow streets with plenty of bars and trattorias. It did exactly what we were hoping it would! The kitchen area was well stocked. The dishwasher wasn’t working although staff did try to fix it very speedily but it wasn’t a problem as we weren’t planning to cook and were easily able to wash up what we used by hand.

We hadn’t been sent any precise check in details. It said on Booking.com details that luggage could be left there at any time so we arrived at 2pm to leave our bags before checking in but were unable to get in to the whole area. However I rang the contact number and spoke to Paolo who came to the property within minutes to let us in and we were able to check in then too. A very minor point but would have liked some flutes for our Prosecco that we were so kindly given on arrival but we coped with wine glasses.

We travellers are very lucky when we get the chance to have such an extraordinary experience when accommodating in places like this one. It feels like you travel not only in a different city, but also in a different time. The garden and the entrance to Corte Meraviglia - Relais gives you this feeling. You could barely imagine what lies behind the huge door when entering the property. We had the apartment on the ground floor and a table reserved just for us in this amazing garden. Good coffee in the morning to go well with this place.

The kitchen could use a fresh paint.

Great place in an old type building in the centre of Lucca, room decor simple but perfectly corresponding with the area of the old Tuscany town. Good location, we had mini living room and kitchen shared with other room and free coffee from espresso machine in the reception room, which was a surprise because we did not expect such extra amenities. And the owner, such a kind man, gave us a warm welcome, showed everything around the building, gave great tips for traveling around - he has done such a good work with the place! We'll be back for sure.

The property is located within the walls, i.e., in the central part of the city. Sightseeing places can be reached within a few minutes. Helpful staff.

There is no elevator, which can be difficult for travelers with luggage. There is a restaurant nearby that runs until late, and significant noise could come from there. A neighbor played guitar with an amplifier attached, While that may be good for music lovers, it was annoying for me who was preparing a lecture to be conducted that evening.

Very friendly and helpfull host, relaxing garden, super genius loci - a decadent touch of the palace/place. Convenient temperature in the (basement) room during very hit season. Roomy, spacious apartment with little kitchenette. Very central location, comfortable parking arrangement close-by.

Windows to the atrium meant some noise (building door slamming), echo of the garden restaurant. The hot season meant dry and fresh air - yet I can imagine the smell in the bedroom in more cold and dump periods can get worse - we took it as a part of the "historical experience".

Beautiful courtyard garden in the historical centre of Lucca. The apartment was spacious and well-furnished. Being able to get a coffee at the reception was much appreciated. The thoughtful owner talked us through the sights and activities in Lucca and took the time for questions. Great WiFi connection and speed!

Driving to the B&B was supposed to be a short drive from the city walls, but we missed a turn and nearly got stuck in the narrow one-way streets of the historical centre. The recommended parking was very conveniently located, and we would have prefered to leave the car there rather than drop off our luggage at the B&B first. It would have been nice to have some more information about the traffic situation and parking before check-in. The shower had limited hot water, insufficient for two people to shower in succession. It did recharge relatively quickly (in about half an hour), but it was something to take into account before heading out.

The warm friendly welcome. The rooms were very clean and well furnished with good facilities. Lovely garden. The location is excellent.

Other customers cigarette smoke at night coming up into the room. It would be preferable, if possible, for there to be a smoking area away from the rooms maybe? Nothing else, everything was great!

Well, I fell in love with the garden! Booked a small single room, but it has everything I needed and when I had the time, I was down in the garden as it's so lovely. Wonderful staff. Truly attentive, one feels more in a big home, than in an accommodation. If you look at the map it seems "further", but actually only about 5-10 minutes from the city gate, despite what most of the tourists don't come this "far", so perfect.

I liked it as it is. No issues.
