Palazzo Dipinto

A beautiful, quiet hotel in a very peaceful corner of Lucca. No more than a 15 min walk from any of the main attractions and places you could want to visit. The room was beautifully appointed, very clean and well-maintained - particularly impressive was the very quiet air con system (it was 40 degrees celsius during my visit). Breakfast is plentiful and varied, and the dining area (including outside terrace) was never busy - it’s easily big enough to accomodate all guests.

The minibar in the room is outrageously expensive - I wouldn’t necessarily expect it to be complimentary, but 4.50EUR for a small box of pringles, for example, is excessive. Additionally, whilst bar area is lovely, (the terrace is a beautiful place to sit in the evening), and I appreciate it is not a restaurant, it would be great to have even a small selection of good quality bar snacks in a hotel of this calibre - just some small crostini, or bread and olive oil, etc. My server brought me some Doritos (presented beautifully, I admit) with a drink, but I feel a boutique hotel like this could offer a little more.

Kind and helpful receptionists, and they speak English well. They are responsive even before your arrival. Very good location (although you have to go through narrow streets; so the bigger your car, the more so if you drive well ;)). Foam pillow. Tea making facility in the room.

You need to keep the warm of the room: you turn off the air conditioner, but if you leave, it restarts. You ask the receptionist to turn it off, but when you leave, it restarts. It is very fancy that the shower has no door, but so a lot of water flows out. They sit in to your car if you ask parking place in the garage! Breakfast staff is not kind. The recommended “cocktail bar” (which we asked) is a cafeteria with basic cocktails (with slow and very rude staff).

Location fantastic although we arrived by car and hotel was difficult to find. Receptionist talked us through it as we drove and stood outside to wait for us. They have parking inside but you need to reserve. I put on my booking.com request but they didn’t forward to the hotel so suggest you deal with hotel directly for the parking. We had a junior suite which was very spacious and comfortable. Complementary shower gel etc very nice quality + presented beautifully. Good quality hairdryer with attachments !! Breakfast was very good although the 2 staff at breakfast a bit miserable. Reception staff very helpful and cheerful. Hotel modern but charming. Nice terrace outside for breakfast and drinks. Very close to all sights. Would highly recommend Also in July check out music festival which has top class acts

This hotel and the location are unbeatable. The staff was wonderful, the hotel was in pristine condition and clearly showed how much the staff cared. Speaking of staff, they were exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help with any requests and questions. The room was wonderful spacious, and well-equipped (a lovely shower during hot summer days was a special bonus to long days of exploring).

My only issue would be not having free drinks and snacks in the mini-fridge. I believe once you enter a higher-end hotel status(4stars +) this must be a included.

I cannot say enough about this hotel. It was without a doubt the best hotel of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip…everything from the lobby, location, staff, room size, breakfast buffet, wifi, bed....it was terrific. The website photos are indicative of the hotel, rooms etc. (look at the gallery and you will see photos of the buffet, rooms, common area etc). First, its in a great location in the old town. Half a block and you are in one of the main plazas. 5 min and you are on the main shopping street of Via Fillungo. The hotel is actually on a bit on the edge of the old town…shortly after you come through the main gate ….so it was VERY easy to drive to ..and drive out of..without getting lost on all the small streets (note: we used google maps and it was telling us to turn just as we got to the hotel..but we saw the hotel just a bit down the street in front of us) On leaving I asked the front desk the easiest way to get out and he said, turn left, then another left..then right…and we were then headed out the main gate of the city. Could not have been easier. The hotel is on a small plaza so easy to park in front of it to unload your luggage..and they have valet parking...for a fee. Front desk staff was super helpful throughout out stay. Our room was very modern, with a great bed, plenty of desk and other space, plenty of plugs, and a large bathroom with a big shower. Wifi was fine. Breakfast was by far the best of all the ones on our trip. Plenty of hot food items, many different pastries, cheesecake and other assorted baked items to choose from, smoked salmon, cold meats and cheeses, plenty of different fruits..and on and on. They also have a nice outdoor patio area on the plaza which made for a wonderful start to our day. Overall, I cannot think of any other hotel I would consider to stay in Lucca. This one has it all.

Absolutely nothing. The hotel is perfect!

An amazing experience. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Good coffee. Very helpful staff. Beautiful view from the room, one of the most clean and amazing bathrooms I have ever seen in a hotel. Even though it is a bit more expensive, the money is absolutely worth it.

Just the absence of own parking or garage, which is understandable though, for there is ZTL zone in the hotel area. Furthermore, there is a nearby parking lot that is very cheap.

-Good location, many bars, shops and restaurants around the hotel. - Inside the ZTL zone, you can park near the hotel for 25 euros per night or 5-8 minutes by foot you can park to the public parking for around 10 euro per day.(sometimes is hard to find parking) -The rooms are big/modern and very clean and well insulated you can't hear anything from outside. Bathroom is very spacious also. -Breakfast was nice. Kind staff also.

Palazzo Dipinto was first-rate in every way. What a wonderful surprise to book a hotel sight-unseen on a website, for under $200/night, and then to arrive to find the most charming, elegant, welcoming hotel we’ve stayed at in years. Right in the middle of Lucca, steps from everything, this place will certainly be your favorite hotel in the city, upon arrival. Every detail attended-to, spacious rooms, elegant dining room & outdoor area. And, of course, the most important part - staff that is happy to see you, accommodating to a fault, and able to speak to any question or need. We loved this place !!!

Honestly, not a thing.

Very nice to be upgraded to a room overlooking the piazza. Super-comfortable, high-thread-count sheets on the large bed. Very nice bathroom. Modern fittings but perfectly in keeping with the historical location and building.

Easy directions to reach the hotel would have been helpful. Although it was only a couple of hundred metres from the drivable streets, we kind of went round in circles a couple of times, and went to the tourist office to find out how to get here through the one-way and pedestrian-only alleys. In the end we just follwed the sat nav to the hotel's front door. Hope we didn't get a fine!

Everything was perfect, very friendly staff which explains what you could see in the city. Excellent breakfast (the best of our trip in Tuscany) and quite place to sleep. The room was very confortable and well decorated
