The interior design is absolutely lively.

The Savoia once was a lovely hotel, but now huge cruise ships, sometimes bigger than the hotel itself, park right in front of the hotel, though I do not know how often. The rooms with with sea view should correctly be renamed rooms with a ship view. There is no possibility to get Cappuccino before the actual breakfast starts. For me, the Savoia always was THE best hotel in Triest, but with the cruise ships the charm has gone.

Very elegant hotel with lovely staff. We liked the afternoon drink in the lobby bar. You can have a nice drink/cocktail and they offer complementary sandwiches and snacks with it. Very classy service. The breakfast is high above the normal 4* standard.

Normally we loved everything. Our one and only small problem was that when we ordered breakfast to the room and asked for specifically have the breakfast on the balcony in advance the lady didn’t bring table cloths just put down the tray and left. The food was perfect though.

Truly a grand hotel in the heart of Trieste. Originally built in the early 1900s I believe, the Savoia Excelsior Palace offers a first rate experience for guests. We stayed in one of the balcony suites so had plenty of room and a great view. The room had superior appointments and a very comfortable bed. I especially liked the large and relaxing lobby with a full service bar and views of the harbor. The hotel is easy walking distance to Piazza Unita and many fine restaurants and cafes. The concierge was very helpful to us in arranging a day trip to Lake Bled at the last minute after our tour operator cancelled on us. A wonderful place to stay.

The hotel is housed in a beautiful and stately old Grand Hotel, tastefully renovated in the style of the building. The room was very spacious, with beautiful high ceilings and marble bathroom, and very good beds. The breakfast buffet had everything for a decent, quality breakfast. The staff were very friendly and service-minded. The hotel is very well located close to the city's main square.

On the outside, the hotel lacks some sparkle in its appearance. The porch at the entrance could have a brighter, more colourful colour and some flowers or more plants on the facade or on the balcony on the first floor would give the hotel a very different look like grand hotels on Lake Geneva or the Côte d'Azur. A working point for the management to take the hotel to the next level.

Everything was great. The stuff is helpful and speaking English. The place is beautiful and elegant, including lobbies, restaurant and the room. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Great sound and light proofing. Very nice room amenities. Nice breakfast with great selection of delicious pastries and cakes that were different each morning.

The room lacks electrical sockets on bedside. I was missing salad or fresh veggies at breakfast (only tomatoes) , but other alternatives were great, including cooked vegetables. Unfortunately, I got room without balcony or view and with twin beds. However, my friends got one with balcony and double bed and it's a very nice upgrade.

A hotel with beautiful decor on the seafront. Pleasant efficient staff at Reception, always willing to help, providing timetables, information & suggestions. The accommodation was very comfortable with views overlooking the sea. We had asked for an upgrade on arrival. The room was clean, spacious & warm. The bed was very comfortable with a choice of pillows & bedding changed regularly. At breakfast, served in the hotel dining room, there was plenty of variety both hot & cold choices. The staff were friendly & worked hard making sure there was always food available.. One evening we had a meal in the restaurant . The service was excellent & the food beautifully cooked & delicious. Altogether a lovely stay in a beautiful city.

The Bora, a cold wind blowing from the alps for several days whilst we were there.

Breakfast room was beautiful, and the breakfast itself was wonderful too. Choice of items was great, layout was practical and the setting was lovely. The signs indicating that 9am could be a busy time allowed us to be there earlier, when it was very quiet and calm. Room was lovely too, and everything worked really well. Room (junior suite) and bed was clean and very comfortable. The shower drained well, which we especially appreciate. The heated towel rail worked well too.

Maybe our only suggestion would be that we would have liked the "hand-held" shower rose at bath level to be able to be held up higher...maybe with a "hook" on the wall. ..making it "hand-free" to use. We much prefer having a shower rose on a "rope" ...not the "rain-shower" type of fitting.

Beautiful Hotel, great located and staff etc. everything really nice.

The blanket for the bed is kind of weird, it's basically just a sheetsand-wipes and in the middle is the uncovered blanket. Maybe that's how it's usually done, but for us it was strange. There is also only one big blanket and not two separate ones. In addition, the egg dish at breakfast tastes very strange, smells strongly of corn - maybe the chickens are fed differently in Italy, for me it was a bit strange. But these are really two very small points of criticism based on personal sensitivities, the rest of the breakfast was very very good, and even so the hotel and the staff are top.

Checkin fast and efficient; bellhop very helpful; room (suite) was fine; restaurant was very good at dinner; hotel very convenient to cruise ship terminal (short walk maybe 250 yards); price was very reasonable; very good breakfast but don't go late!

Bathroom tub extremely slippery (asked for a mat and they delivered it); rain shower head sprayed water everywhere needs replacing; no umbrella or luggage rack in room (both delivered when requested); TV remote didn't work. All minor issues but shouldn't have to complain to get these items which should be automatic in a 5 star hotel!!
