The Modernist Hotel

Great breakfast with super coffee! City location, walking distance to antique Roman theater, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. King-size bed very comfy. Interior design of the hotel, the bar and the room is interesting, inspiring, use of quality materials, old-wood reused for furniture and decor. Guests get 15% price discount in the nearby parking lot in walking distance, cca. EUR17 per day.

The street Corso d' Italia is very noisy even with closed windows. We could not sleep with open windows for the noise. Air conditioning must be run overnight - noisy too.

Very good location, beautiful building. In the middle of busy city center but the rooms are extremely quiet, no noise from the street at all. Very friendly staff. Beautiful design. Elevator available. Spacious and clean rooms.

There wasn’t really a place to park the car. However there is a public undeground parking right nearby (San Giusto parking). We parked our car there and walked with our bags (2min walk). The hotel also does valet parking when requested. Breakfast was very nice but unfortunately pastries and eggs were not replenished after 9 ‘o clock…

Very good location, nice and clean rooms (esp. also the bath room), helpful and friendly staff, air condition works very good - for me it will is one of the first locations to check for a stay in Trieste

WIFI didn't work (access problems, code on TV was invalid - due to time reasons I made no complaint but used my own hot spot - so this might be probably easily solved in case support is requested), safe is very small (only big enough for money and documents - normal camera, iPad and of course laptop are too big to fit in)

We LOVED this hotel - it is quirky and fun and the decor is very original and funky. The staff are supersuper friendly and fun and so kind and also very knowledgeable. We loved it here!!! The dinner recommendations turned out to be fab and the sweetest thing happened when we arrived: we were just settling into our room when there was a knowck on the door and the hotel manager and a staff member came in with a bottle of Prosecco, glasses, lots of aperitif nibbles and their best wishes for our wedding anniversary!!!! Total stars!!! This is the nicest thing anybody did for us on our whole 3 week journey through several countries and we were so grateful!!!!!Thank you staff at modernist!!!! Also breakfast was gorgeous and plentyful and of course crowned with amazing cups of delicious coffee. The location is also hard to beat - you can walk anywhere worth going from here!!! Fab location and if you book parking your valet just takes away your car and you never have to worry about it until you leave - when it will be returned to you at the correct time. Perfect!!!

The location is great in the heart of the town! The Hotel is so clean!! And Reception all the staff is so gentle, polite ,well mannered so helpful!!! Marta was so helpful and very well mannered with a lovely smile that gave us such a warm welcome and made our whole three days memorable one. Thank you MARTA and all reception staff. The room was being kept so clean and everyday they changed bed sheets and had all the amenities in the room. I was amazed by the cleaness that was kept everywhere in the hotel. The breakfast was top notch! Excellent! Really a good buffet!!! Excellent service with a smile from the waitress!! And very well mannered!!! Really was worth every single euro we spent! Highly recommended !! Looking forward to come back sometime next year!!! Thank you all.

Location was perfect - very central. We had to circle around in the traffic after missing it the first time (you just pull up on the path, and as we had valet parking they will drive the car to the car park - much easier than dragging suitcases around the streets). We really wish we had longer in Trieste - we arrived later on and really only saw the city for the following morning - so we cannot really comment too much about the hotel experience except to say that it was good for one night flying visit. Staff were helpful, it has a good restaurant and cafe on the ground floor, and facilities were also good.

Really good check in/out experience, good recommendations for local area, nice clean rooms and common areas. Location was great, very close to the water, main squares and walking distance to most major sites in Trieste. Room was pretty quiet given it's on a busy street. Really good restaurants, bars and cafes surrounding the hotel.

Not much of an atmosphere at the restaurant on site, so we didn't end up using it at all during our stay. But given all the other local options nearby, we really were very unlikely to be using it anyway.

The Hotel is very modern in a very ancient building and the match is fascinating. Very nice, comfortable and well organised, I liked it. Rooms are well decorated and functional. I loved the magnets on the door for do not disturb/clean the room, very practical and innovative. Good breakfast. We parked in a nearby public parking and the Hotel gave us a discount voucher.

The only thing I didn't like was that I asked for a late check out (willing to pay for it, of course) and I was told it was not possible because the hotel was fully booked. But when I checked on Bookings there were still rooms available to book for that very same day.

A very cool hotel, the location is perfect, you can access everything on foot. If you are by car or in our case motorbike, there is vallet service available. Breakfast was great, and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. Soundproofing is amazing, you are right in the center, on a busy street but when you close the windows, poof, all gone, quiet. The bed was really comfy, and they also gave us a room upgrade

As I said the bed was comfy, but as is usually the case, if you are 1.9m, the feet stick out a bit 😬

Room 508 on the main street side with a little balcony was perfect for seeing everything was perfect for enjoying a little fresh air and when you open the balcony doors the air-conditioning or heat goes off which was excellent and was particularly perfect because it was incredibly quiet even though that’s a very noisy part of town. The staff or so helpful had great language skills so friendly and made it wonderful place to be. It was Covid but everyone seem to work through it. The only slight drawback was if there was a big crash at breakfast it took a little time, but that is to be expected. They called us cabs when we needed it they gave us great directions when we asked for it and made sure we had everything we needed. We have stayed at a lot of different hotels in Trieste over the years but we will definitely go back here
