Victoria Hotel Letterario

The hotel was like 15 min from the center, so if you are tired it's a bit of a walk and it's uphill. There are loads of buses, though. The hotel is on the fancy side, they use a parking near the hotel but is very small, we had to park in the middle of the "street". We paid for a Superior Double Room, they gave us a corner room right besides the lift (505) with a small window, that barely open overlooking the fire stairs. The room per we was big and comfortable, had a sofa, a fridge and the bed was big. The bathroom was big and had a spa tub, the problem is if you want to shower, there was no curtain so there was water everywhere. The breakfast was less than I was expecting for a hotel of this fanciness and what they charge.

The price, way to expensive (200€ for 1 night including the taxes) for the location and amenities.

Handy location outside of the main tourist area but within walking distance The suites we booked were great. Very stylish and a good size.Comfortable beds. Nice breakfast

The WiFi was too poor in our room (409) to connect, which we mentioned to reception but heard no more about what they might do. Because of location of room, mobile signal was also very limited. This was problematic for us. The shower water didn't always drain away (probably too many people at same time?) meaning had to cut shower short.

Good and comfortable rooms, good location. Employees were pleasant, but service of breakfast left us very dissapointed.

Service at breakfast was not good. We were asked day before (due the covid restrictions), what would we like for a breakfast. We filled the list and hour. In the morning the breakfast place was full. Hotel manager should : or put different hours for breakfast or put additiona hands on breakfast rush hour. First 10 minutes a small plate of salami came, after 25 minutes small basket of bread (we were 5 people), then we asked for juices, eggs came after 40 minutes of our arrival to table. This should not happened. I got my coffee with milk after 35 minutes, my wife did not get a coffee. Breakfast waitress were nervous, I understand this, but could not manage this. Hotel manager should care that this doesn’t happend again.

Breakfast were wonderful - staff worked hard to meet our breakfast needs - good food selections and quantity. Front desk very helpful as well. Parking lot right across the street.

In spite of their best efforts, our rooms were TERRIBLY HOT! Temperature was 85 F/30 C in our room. The desk attendant's response when I asked about it was "you Americans just complain about the heat. Europeans are used to these temperatures." The property manager tried to rectify the problem the next day, which but temperature only dropped 4-5 degrees, making it still impossible to sleep! If you want a comfortable room, better not book this hotel during hot weather.

We LOVED our stay in this hotel. In the style of an old grand hotel but freshly modernized. We had a corner room with 4 windows and the feeling of looking out over this beauiful city was truly marvelous. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want and the staff was super attentive. The location is close to everything and across the street from Armondo's where we had hand cut ham for lunch every day.

The hotel was well located in Trieste and only a 15 minute walk from the main squares and seafront. It was spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly and extremely helpful. There was a good selection for breakfast and again the staff were really friendly and welcoming.

There was nothing that I didn’t like about the hotel.

it is elegant, old-fashioned in an historical building, and cozy. staff were super kind. breakfast is colorful and tasty. we’ll come back for sure.

the parking is not really in site but something like 300 mt ahead and there was no way to stop in front of the hotel to get down of the car or leaving our luggages, because someone parked in their downloading space. room could benefit from a noticeable upgrade if they included a cattle to make you some tea, as the heating makes the air quite dry.

Very professional and helpful reception staff - gave us good local tips and info! Decor in room and hotel had charm and felt very comfortable. Excellent location for getting around the centre. A very good breakfast with lovely waiting staff.

Wifi did not work very well. The air conditioning is set on a higher temperature than we would have preferred, coming from the UK, but was still acceptable.

We booked 2 rooms, both supposed to be the same. One room had NO coffee machine & the other room had a machine but we had to request pods for the machine!! also breakfast was included but because we were leaving early they said breakfast wouldn’t be open, therefore I asked for breakfast to go. The reception then said they would organise staff for 6am for breakfast for us. I was very appreciative.

Great on room furnishings and fittings, bed quality and bathroom amenities. Yet the room felt like it was stuck at the bottom of an elevator shaft. No natural light nor the ability to really feel comfortable about opening the doors for fresh air. More a glorified cleaning cupboard space than a boutique hotel room Staff were great tho and it’s a mostly handy location
