Hotel Hulku

Location was convenient, staff were nice, the vibe was cozy with lots of trees. Water dispensers to refill your water bottles, bicycles complimentary use for 2 hours. Free parking. Walking distance to the beach. Loved the balcony / outdoor area. The kitchenette room had 2 balconies and a hammock, overlooking the pool, that was really nice. Free breakfast - simple fruit and yogurt, toast, coffee. Amazing staff.

We were on the top floor and there were 1-2 clubs right across, playing extremely loud music until 1:30am onwards. It was the opposite of relaxing. I asked to change rooms but they were fully booked. I think the other rooms didn't have it as bad, though but we were at 403. The bicycles could only be rented 2 hours and returned by 5pm - they should let you have it for longer if nobody else is using the bikes, and 3-5pm is super hot to bike actually so they should let you return the bikes until 7 or 8pm! Wifi was pretty slow in the room.

Nice small hotel, family friendly. 5 minute walk to the beach and 5ta Avenida. Very close, walking distance to the ADO buses which are a good transportation to and from Cancun Airport, and other places like Tulum, etc. The continental breakfast was good, fresh ingredients. We stayed in a suite which had a small kitchen, good working fridge. Pool area only has 3 lounge chairs, but even on a busy spring break week kids enjoyed it. Free parking. We enjoyed the outdoor space, all the nature that is in the middle of Playa DC. We have been to Playa many times and stayed at other places, overall this is a great value and location.

This place was a great stay in playa if you're not trying to spend an arm and a leg on accommodations. What we most liked about Hulku was the beautiful landscaping, the pool, and the kindess of the staff. We weren't there much and basically just needed the room to sleep in- which it worked just fine for that. We had a room with 2 beds, a nice working AC and TV. It could be decorated a little more and is more bland than i'm used to, but that's the only thing I really noticed. The outside really made up for the standard and older interior of our room. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Great location (not directly on 5th avenue, but quite close). Easy to walk to the beach in about 5 min. Possibility to rent bikes (2 hours included for hotel guests). Breakfast was great and included coffee, different juices per day, yogurt with fruit and granola, toast with butter and jam as well as a piece of carrot cake. Rooms and the entire hotel area were clean. We loved the „jungle“ with tons of plants and hammocks and other seating options in the inner courtyard.

Two hostels are around the hotel, which means that it is super loud. Weekends are worse than weekdays, but it’s loud any day. We recommend bringing earplugs for sleeping. If you are very sensible for high volume music, maybe better choose another hotel. Staff worked rather slow (might be the Mexican mentality?).

The hotel area is very calming with all the plants and the hammocks. The breakfast was good and I liked that it was served to tables. The air-con worked very well and the room was lovely and clean. Some issues with towels and wifi were solved very fast! The pool was small but it was not crowded so it worked just fine.

Some little hiccups with the time of check-in, not clean towels and wifi, but all very swiftly solved. The kitchen had an induction stove top and only 1 pan out of 6 worked on it. Water pressure could have been better in the shower. Loud noice from nearby at nights, but this was expected in Playa.

The location-quietness ratio was amazing, and for the price, we would definitely stay again in this hotel. We also liked the free breakfast, the jungle atmosphere, kids playground, the swings and hammocks, free parking garage.

There was no wifi reception in the room, except only when standing close to the door. The facilities are basic, but for the price, it was what we expected.

Geat location, near to the beach and to the main shopping street. Wallmart is 5min by walk. Super comfortable beds! The size of the room is sufficient. The kitchen is well equipped. The garden is just like a jungle,pretty cool.

Continental breakfast was inclueded but we could not order anything else because the waiters don't speak English at all.. The roof top bar just right next to the hotel is noisy, there is party every night.. The wifi doesn't work properly in the room at the 2. floor.

Everything. The property is so beautiful with lots of hanging plants, trees, water features, hammocks, swings etc. As a solo traveller I felt very safe as they lock the front door and you need to ring a bell to gain access and it all felt very private as it was hidden by big trees. It’s only about a 5-10 minute walk to the centre/fifth avenue so the location is perfect. I looked forward to breakfast each morning as you had a lovely selection of fruit bowls, as well as toast, cake, tea, coffee, orange juice etc. I actually ended up extending a couple of times as I loved the hotel so much and the staff were really kind and understanding. I would definitely stay here again and couldn’t recommend it enough - it’s a calm, peaceful hidden gem within the hustle and bustle of Playa Del Carmen.

The hotel was really nice and safe, the breakfast was really good, the swimming pool with the small waterfall was just beautiful and refreshing. everything was super clean and I didn’t have to ask for anything. The hammock on the terrace was a great addition

staff told me my room isn’t ready and to wait a couple of minutes. After one hour the room still wasn’t ready. Next time just tell me that it’s going to take one hour to get the room ready so I don’t have to lose one hour waiting in the lobby…

Very small bathroom - practically no place to put your personal items or hang out the towels It might be loud in the late evening, but at night was ok
