The Fives Downtown Hotel & Residences, Curio Collection by Hilton

Everything at this hotel was wonderful, so clean and so easy to walk everywhere. The terrace and pool are so beautiful and the food is incredible! We came for our anniversary. I booked by mistake at Hotel Boutique Kinta Kan that was closer to the beach that supposed to be a 4 stars hotel, and only stayed there the first 15 min and left. We lost our money but it was so worthy to just leave and book instead with this amazing hotel. I do not like to complaint but do not want other couples like us to have this bid disappointment, do not book Hotel Boutique Kinta Kan, everything was oxidized, the bathroom licking everywhere and not clean at all. We could not open the door to the room because it was all rusted.

Hotel and rooftop pool by far the best.

Staff. Everyone was nice except when they lied to me at front desk telling me breakfast was included showed me where and what times. Just to find out AFTER i ate that that was not true and i had to end up paying which i have no issue with my issue was the lying. They tried to give it to me for free IF i took a 90 minute presentation which i was absolutely not interested in as im in vacation. I would rather pay. I only ate breakfast there cause they told me it was included. If i would have known i was being lied to i would have gone out to the city to have breakfast not there in the hotel. It seems like it was done on purpose and I absolutely hate the way they made it work out not just the lying but the oh ok its free if you stay for a presentation. Yeah no thanks NEVER AGAIN!

Great convenient location

The change in pool policy day of departure we were told we had to pay for pool beds. They were nice and let us stay but asked to leave before 2 hours. It was the only reason we booked the room for the one night. For this reason we probably wouldn’t stay again.

Alejandra was wonderful. She was professional and made efforts to try and make our stay a better one. It was appreciated.

At 11:50PM and the staff is still moving furniture around the pool and bar area that was supposed to be closed at 10. Needless to stay, my family cannot sleep. Do not stay on the 4th floor no matter what they say the hours are. Also, when we checked in we were not greeted by a hotel worker but rather someone who sat us down for 15 minutes to sell us on a timeshare. After a 14hr travel day this is the last thing you want. I expected it but at least let us check in. When we were able to check in the only thing the person at the front desk did was try and sell us on an upgraded room. No welcome, no information on the hotel, the food, how anything works, etc.. just that we could pay extra for "the only room available for upgrade". Sorely disappointed.

Good restaurants in the hotel. it has its own activities inside. The ubicación is very good. You are a block away from the 5th Avenue.

We stay 1 week in the hotel. One elevator Is not working. you have to wait around 10-15 minutes to go down or up. I don’t know how a great hotel like this. That it’s not cheap wait so long to fix the elevator. Or probably they should make a discount to the guesses or give one free breakfast at least.

I especially enjoyed the stylish furnishings and lobby, fitness center, amazing rooftop. Breakfasts and staff serving breakfast in the Mercatto are absolutely amazing.

Staff could be a little bit too pushy, crossing limits with over friendliness beyond appropriate at times. I prefer to feel like a client rather than a pal and keep a certain distance and privacy. There were also issues with soundproof in our first room, however we were assisted with a successful change of room where the noises stopped being an issue.

The location is terrific!! It is a 3 minute walk to the ferry to Cozumel and it is right in the center of all things tourist in Playa. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The beds were as comfortable as any I have ever slept on. The roof top pool/bar was a fun place to go. But it can get crowded for loungers and umbrellas for shade. Beers are on the expensive side and cocktails are just a plain rip off expensive. Staff was fun and professional at the same time. If I needed any help at all it was easy and fun to interact with The Fives staff. Check in was a rough. There was a huge rush and influx of guests at the same time and our room was not ready for us to get into until 4pm. No big deal.....we left our luggage with the bell clerk and went down the street to have a beer and some chips.

I get a hotel is a business....but come on guys!!!! You have to take a second mortgage out to afford a cocktail at the roof bar.

The service in this hotel is the best I’ve ever had. Gorgeous rooftop pool... beautiful modern room. Great food but a bit pricey.nice

The staff pushed us into a membership sales presentation and that was an awful experience that almost sent me out of the hotel screaming. So pushy and it took way more time than the 90 minutes they promised.

I really enjoyed this hotel and the location! My room was extremely nice and very comfortable. The plunge pool was kinda loud but still very nice overlooking the downtown area. They did covid testing which was a plus didn't have to find a place out in town. The Mercado restaurant had really good breakfast! The rooftop was big and had a nice vibe, the potbelly tacos were probably the best I had compared to town. The spa was great to include their mini pool. And the staff really made me feel home traveling alone. I would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in playa as it was very convenient walking distance to almost everything you needed.

I honestly can't say anything was bad.

The location was in the heart of the venues. All I. Walking distance. Worked out well. I did not eat breakfast at the hotel

Floors in room were a little gritty, could have been a little cleaner. However, slippers on your feet prevented feeling the residue on bottom of feet.
