Ahau Tulum

Gorgeous beach and easy access to chairs, staff went above and beyond, tons of restaurants and shops in walking distance.

Dog on premises barking very early one morning and no action taken. Front desk messed up scheduling both my massage and my covid test, though both were remedied.

5 nights in Ahau Tulum, from the entrance -beautiful property. Wooden houses combined in a great beach climate with a lot of flowers and palms around was just a pleasure for eyes whenever we were around there. Amazing, relaxing music in the background during breakfast and dinners (we loved it). Heros in the Ahau's staff - so nice, so smiled, so great people! Davis and Berna - I would like to thank for all chats, for great clues what to order and especially for amazing ideas what we could visit. With your recommendation we saw many of fantastic places that we hadn't planned and now we will never forget them. Monste - thanks so much for all help you gave me and for your daily smile which turns everyone in positive mood from early morning! I will definitely come back!;)

when ordering room service via WhatsApp (no menus which is a first for me!)!? The food is delivered but then it’s never taken away later! so cats (who fight and a scream!) and ants etc eat it all outside! one should always clear away room service food like any hotel! also no one mentioned the very loud “boom boom” night club two doors down - hell!!! for sleep esp with jet lag!

The room and especially the bed are amazing (how you would picture your honeymoon room to look like). We had an incredible ocean view from the balcony. The staff was very friendly. We also received fresh coffee and cookies in the morning. All we needed to do is to send a short message to the reception. The food (the risotto) is also very good. You can also do yoga classes in the morning.

Now to the down side: Although Ahau offers yoga classes, they are not for free. You have to pay USD 20 to participate. Given that the room prices are very high and that other hotels in the neighborhood offer yoga classes for free if you are a hotel guest, this was very unfortunate. Breakfast is also not included. The hotel is very clean and offers free access to the beach. However, there are other hotels in the neighborhood that offer the same service but are a lot cheapier.

Incredible location and proximity to the beach. Our beachfront villa was an absolute dream and I couldn't have asked for anything better. It definitely exceeded my expectations. We had the perfect view of the turquoise waters and our personal hammock was a great place to lay back and enjoy drinks or ice cream when the beach got a little crowded. The aloe vera and mosquito repellant included in the room were lifesavers when we went out at night! The staff and management was so friendly and responded right away to any questions we had. Raw Love cafe was our go-to for breakfast. Ziggy's, Ukami, Taboo, Rosa Negra, and Funky Geisha were a quick walk away so it was super convenient. Just FYI AC only works between 8pm-8am but honestly the fan does a good enough job to keep you cool.

The restaurant itself is just ok -- super friendly but watered-down guac and drinks. Not a big deal though because there are tons of other places to eat not far away.

We stayed in one of the beach front rooms with our two toddlers and were blown away from the second we stepped on the property. The room was flawless and so close to the beach that we did not even use the beach chairs most days. We were more than comfortable in the space and appreciated the indoor and outdoor showers as well as the large deck which made it easy for in-room dining and shaded beachfront naps for the children. The restaurant was excellent with the incredibly prompt beach bartenders. As for the beach, it was spectacular with (thankfully) no seaweed, unbelievable sunrises, and we were fortunate enough to witness dozens of baby sea turtles hatching at the base of our deck one evening. We loved Ahau’s staff, dedication to the environment and sustainability (no plastic, thoughtful stainless steel/paper toiletry packaging, etc.), as well as the perfect location and property and would eagerly return in a heartbeat!

I loved being able to get out of the room and the beach was steps away. The room was very comfortable. It didn’t have a tv but with the beach just a few feet away who needed it. Ac only turns on at night but we were early on the room. The service was awesome, food was delicious, and great location. The whole atmosphere was very relaxing, just what i needed to find my peace. Overall I feel in love with tulum and would definitely go back.

Bathrooms were outside of the room, nobody can see you but still disturbing.

The property is stunning, the perfect option for a laid-back beach retreat. We loved the casitas, the open-air lobby and fabulous restaurant, the gorgeous bohemian decor, and the setup of daybeds and loungers on the beach. Could not have asked for a more beautiful and comfortable hotel in Tulum.
