La Posada del Sol Boutique Hotel Tulum

The property was exactly what you’d hope to get if you are looking for authentic and not commercialized as the common resorts. The beautiful Spanish style hacienda was set in one of the main areas of Tulum. Restaurants and unique shops are within walking distance. The area is a bit rustic. If you want the true feel of Tulum’s culture, this is a great place. Also, we had a full, wonderful breakfast. For dinner, I suggest the pizza place across the street. They have amazing coffee too. The room (Luna was it's name) was beautifully decorated and the sunrises are gorgeous. The shower is good and hot but the first time you use it you need to wait a bit for the hot water to reach the shower. It's the handle on the left. LOL I’ve been to Tulum twice now. I have stayed at a really nice resort and I’ve stayed here now. I would recommend this little Inn. Hands down! By the way go see the ruins and cenotes. You’ll enjoy it

The beach water isn’t clear. obviously they can’t control that. So I just want to say, there’s a beach by the ruins that has a restaurant, parking is free and the food is great but pricey. But their beach is crystal clear. Really that’s it. There isn’t anything that I don’t like. I guess if I had a small request, a couple of more towels.

The facility was a step away from the beach which was really nice. Very clean and the ladies in breakfast area were friendly.

The room was really dark hard to see during the night. The shower area is very easy to slip and fall. The shower area is open to the sink and toilet area so when you shower everything gets wet including the toilet area. That makes it hard when you get up at night even if you wipe down the toilet area the shower area is still wet so we had to lay rugs and towels over so we didn't slip.

Amazing breakfast and friendly kitchen staff. Amazing views. Clean room. All facilities working. Hot water etc. No bugs. V clean. Trusted cleaning staff. Fresh towels for shower and also beach daily. Staff provided extra hangers. V slow going easy environment. No bustling tourists. Private beach. Access to infinity pool next door and beach beds and swings above the hotel and trees up high on site and next door. Clean beach. Ice available. Coffee available daily. Great food. Fresh. Made to order. Door locks from inside and out be advised to request extra key. Hotel provided 2nd key at request. No mosquitoes. Sealed windows and doors in cielo suite master room. Clean water in room for drinking. No rain inside during storm. Good discount for direct booking. Walking distance to papaya playa. Easy front cab taxi access with some negotiations for pricing into tulum strip or into the city center. Welcoming staff each day coming home. Great exchange rate for cash next door also best rate ever seen in mexico. Spacious. Stable building. Beautiful cielo. Sound proof from neighbors . quiet water supply. Fresh ocean but not too salty. Very hot water. Very particular guests were very comfortable and happy .

Sketchy late night security 2 nights/6. After midnight security v sketchy. Harassing. Intimidating/threatening. Front coffee shop charged us for breakfast daily even though it was included in our stay pricing and reservation. No menus or pricing provided. Extra charge for smoothie vs juice and charge for shrimp in omelets. Seemed short staffed. Server was new and quit the 2nd day. Hotel on azulik side less friendly. Not accessible.

great location on the beach, with a good private beach room was very spacious staff was very nice and helpful we always got a parking stop

very annoying that you can only have the AC on from 9 to 9 and it’s not because we were “on the jungle”, since you can get it 24h if you pay 10USD per day we also saw a raccoon regularly at night and many cockroaches in the garden, which I guess is “normal” for the location no blinders so the light would get in the room super early in the morning overall a bit overpriced, as is everything in tulum beach

Everything was excellent!

We stayed in room Cielo (which is the one with all windows and the amazing view) and I can't even explain how amazing the room is. The pictures don't do it justice at all. Everything was so cozy and comfortable, it was amazing. We slept with the sliding doors open, just to hear the ocean. The breakfast is good (one day fruit & toast, the other day eggs & toast). I might be a little biased regarding this location, because I actually got engaged in this room. The room, the surroundings in that moment....it couldn't have been any more perfect!

Only two things I would add to the room to make it extra amazing: - a towel rack or hooks in the bathroom, so your towels can dry somewhere; - curtains on the left of the room, so your neighbors can't look in.

We love the ambiance. We rented the regular room upstairs on the other side of the road, but there's beach front room options. We had a big bed, big bathroom, big balcony with beautiful greens and flowers. Rooms/balcony have a hammock. Consider that some rooms have open-concept bathrooms so no door. The beach was more private and the size was decent for a walk and swim, sand bottom not rocky. Nice view and beach sitting areas. The room was big with nice design, very tropical. Dim light, so when we needed to upload our passport for online checkin in the evning the light wasn't enough. There's candle for more romantic feel. If you forgot to close the windows/doors, theres mosquito net and repellent. This property has rooms on the beach side and on the other side of the road. If you book regular rooms or non-beach front, you'll just have to cross the street to accress the beach through the property. Free purified drinking water enough for 2 days or maybe more. Rental bike was cash only non negotiable price that time. But there are other options in the area. AC worked great but has limited timings 9pm-9am. Their soap, shampoo etc are organic. Highly recommended.

Good location with private beach. Perfect for chill out in a boutique style, only few rooms, but only in the building at the beach. There are 2 another buildings on the other side of the road, with no view, no access to the beach etc. Very helpful staff. Good option for breakfast, although the are plenty of other options on the street nearby. Great beach terrace with beautiful sea view. Clean and nice lobby.

Open bathroom. It happens in Mexico, that you have a room with open toilet and shower. I need some privacy while in the toilet... Rooms are rather dark, with small windows, but it may benefit in the hottest weeks. Very few parking places.

This was a great hotel. The location is in center of strip where you’ll find several hotels and restaurants as well as bike rentals. The breakfast is different everyday and delicious. The rooms are very hot so I recommend paying for AC to be kept on for additional $10 a day

The hotel was lovely. We ended up upgrading to the partial ocean view room with a plunge pool. it had floor to ceiling windows and a large room and bathroom- featuring a door in between! The garden room originally booked didn’t have any natural light or a bathroom door. Being located right on the beach was beautiful, although this beach is not great for swimming.

The location is great for a day or two as you’ll need to have transportation to get to the true hotel zone or public beach.
