Hotel Refugio410

The overall feel of the hotel felt like you were tucked away in nature, so relaxing. Yet, it is in town so it was walking distance to a lot of shops and eateries. Breakfast was included which was convenient. The staff was friendly and very accommodating!!! Jesus at the front desk offered great recommendations. The ladies in the kitchen served up delicious breakfast. And our rooms got cleaned every day during our stay which we didn't expect.

I wished the room had coffee maker and microwave. There were two chairs and a small table but a tiny fridge sat on one of the chairs so only one person can sit. There were two low-hanging pendant lights near the table, level of my shoulder so they were in my face. These hanging lights need to be pulled up higher to avoid obstruction.

the hotel has a very good feeling about it (from the street, nice facade, beautiful lobby and an back garden where the room are, hence very quiet). Nicely decorated, large room, very clean well equiped and quiet air con Staff was helpful (explained where to find ATM, advised us on restaurant options on a sunday night...) Although the hotel does not have a parking lot, it was easy to park in the street and the neighbourhood is safe. A 24x7 convenience store 2 minutes away, city center, shops, restaurants within 10 minutes walk. A very pleasant surprise for a last minute booking Nice surprise also, Valladolid is worth the stop... Cannot rate the breakfast due to an early departure.

Although it turned out not to be an issue, we were worried about parking.

We had such a nice time at Hotel Refugio41, the whole place is hidden behind a door that you open to discover a few small houses in the middle of a very nice garden. The room was spacious and very well decorated. The pool was definitely a plus as the temperatures were quite high. The hotel is located in a more local part of Valladolid which is nice if you want to get away from the touristy activities and still be able to access it by foot. Jesus was very responsive and had really nice recommendations. The breakfast was very good but could be a bit more varied if you’re staying a bit longer.

we had an amazing stay - the property is comfortable and beautiful, with all the amenities you may need. It is well located and the staff are very kind, always there if you need help. Fresh drinking water was provided too, which was lovely. Sitting by the pool cooling off after a hot day of exploring Mayan ruins truly did feel amazing!

the only thing that could be improved would be the thickness of the curtains - we woke up early each morning because of the sun rising and the curtains doing little to block it. This was minimal however - I would rebook to come back in a heartbeat.

Friendly staff, especially Jesús who gave us good recommendations for cenotes and restaurants and was always willing to help. Room is spacious and the pool is nice if you want to cool down after a hot day.

The curtains are nearly covering the entire window and are very light, so if you have a room on ground floor (which we had) it did feel like you could look inside our room sometimes. Luckily, the hotel only has a few rooms so few guests, but still would be better to have other curtains. Also, our bathroom was not cleaned during our 3-night stay as we could see that the towel on the floor wasn’t replaced and the trash bin wasn’t emptied.

We got a very detailed welcome from the staff and lots of recommendations for dinner and local places to go. The room was spacious and there was also a pool (that we didn’t use). Breakfast was yum! Valladolid is a cute, safe and low key place to stay for a few days. We had a good time here.

The hotel is close to the old convent with good restaurants and bars. But if you wanted to stay close to the old town it’s a hot, sweaty 15-20 minute walk (in August). Not a problem for us but something to keep in mind.

Friendly host who gave us a lot of great recommendations (sights, restaurants). The hotel is located on the main street but it’s calm and secluded once you enter. The swimming pool was a plus with the hot weather. Center is easily walkable.

There were a lot of musquitos flying around, so much we weren’t able to sit on our private porch or at the pool. The door to the terrace didn’t close completely so the mosquitos could enter our room. The curtains didn’t close entirely to block the view for people outside.

Amazing stay from minute one. Jesús at the reception was really friendly and helpful with my requests and questions at all times. The hotel is beautifully decorated, so quite and cosy. Very cute room, spacious, clean, with a very comfy bed. Had my own little porch with a hammock to relax at any time in the day. Breakfast is simple but healthy and very yummy (that watermelon juice, omg!). Great location. 10' away walking from the bus station and 15' from the main church square. Shame I was there for only one night. I would have loved to stay longer. Gracias por todo!

Refugio 41 was a gorgeous place to stay. Beautiful colonial lobby and breakfast area, leading to a secluded garden and pool, clean and comfortable rooms with private patios and terraces. Very peaceful and relaxing vibe. The staff were lovely, especially the manager Jesus who was so helpful. Delicious breakfast included every morning. We would return tomorrow, top marks!

A little bit of noise at night from neighborhood dogs barking every now and then, but nothing too bad at all. A little fridge would have been helpful to keep cold drinks in the room, but apart from that, very functional and comfortable.

Wow! Hotel Refugio truly was a place of serenity and refuge during our stay in Valladolid. the highlight of our stay was not only waking up in the morning to the sweet Melodie’s of birds s chirping, or the cool sunsets swaying on the hammock overlooking the pool, or even our amazing host, Jesus, who greeting all three of us by name each morning and gave us the most amazing tips on things to see, eat and do in town, ORRRRRR the amazing breakfast they served in the mornings with a great cup of coffee and fresh juice! everything was so exceptional and felt like an oasis and home away from home! I LOVED IT! we SHALL RETURN in the near future! thank you for the great memories 😆
