Les Jardins De La Médina

First hotel in the world where I didn’t have to specify I wanted my espresso in a large cup: they asked me for first! Just a small example of the care and attention they put in the service. I have been in various Riad and hotels in Morocco, mostly five stars and four stars. Gentleness and care are almost everywhere…here they have something more added: professionality. And cocktails are better done than in Mamounia where I had the worst negroni sbagliato of my life and the most expensive one. Breakfast is huge and various with salmon served, cheese selection and even local food in tajine. Something you cannot find easily elsewhere. Last plus: a cold beer in your fridge in the camera is the rarest thing you can find anywhere in Marrakech. Thank you to the manager! You did a great work.

Even in my worst mood I could not find anything that could be done in a better way in this hotel.

Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. There was an issue with the room initially but that was sorted quickly and with no real fuss.

It’s a nice hotel but it’s batting above it’s weight in how expensive it is. At close to €300 a night, they need to not be skrimping on things like cushions for the sun loungers. Its such a small and relatively inexpensive thing, but the lack of them really stood out and made lounging by the pool uncomfortable as the loungers are clearly designed to have them.

The lounging area for meals and relaxing by the pool are well done. Staff is attentive and very welcoming. Les Jardins de la Medina is a fantastic respite from the heat with the beautiful lush gardens with nearness to everything.

We had an issue with the air condition in our luxury room, which meant that we kept the AC running non-stop for the period to be sure the room would get cool (after a few days) and remain cool. The bathroom was still quite warm. It would be super to have vent fans in the bathroom as a way to also perhaps pull cooler air from the large room into the bathroom.

The location just inside the Medina makes this hotel perfect to explore everywhere, get taxis (and luggage) in and out easily and have peace and quiet in the beautiful, lush gardens. The restaurant inside and out has a great atmosphere. We visited in April and one evening ate indoors, the fire was lit and it was magical. The food is excellent and the barman made the best mojitos! Our room was large, with lots of character, a fireplace and a large terrace. There are lots of areas to sit and sunbathe or relax in shade or dappled light. The staff are very welcoming, kind and helpful, we feel lucky to have discovered this hotel.

This hotel was a great choice simply because it looks like an oasis in the middle of the Medina. You get easily tired of Marrakech.. it is messy, noisy, you need to walk a lot, under 40oC. Half a day walking was enough to us to go back to the hotel and stay in the pool. We stayed one night in a Riad to compare.. the main difference is that all hotels are old, but Les Jardins is renovated, and the pool is in the garden so you do not swim inside a building.

The food was not outstanding, for the price I would expect something better. It is not in the main area of the Medina, you need to walk a lot to get to the main sights and restaurants. But I have no doubt I would recommend this hotel to any friend.

The hotel is beautiful with lovely gardens. With the gardens comes great wildlife - it was so nice to sit in a small grove with birds, lizards and even a couple of tortoises just ambling nearby, within arm’s reach! it’s location is brilliantly convenient for all the attractions of central Marrakech. I walked everywhere. The staff were so attentive, helpful and polite - nothing was too much trouble. I’m very big on cleanliness and my room was spotless. The maid even sprayed perfume (of my choice) on my pillows each evening.

Having visited Marrakech annually for 25 years we feel well placed to compare LJ with other accommodation. We found the customer service was very good with smiling, helpful and professional staff who had clearly been well trained in the art of helpful yet relaxed customer service. Food was very good. Pool area and gardens charmingly atmospheric and a real bonus in the city area. Value for money was very good by comparison with other riad/hotels of this standard. The dining/bar is charming and traditionally yet beautifully decorated.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like specifically. However, as an Interior Designer I felt our room could have been decoratively improved with a few extra touches. Same goes for the reception area which doesn’t make the most of what could be a very interesting and stunning area which makes the first customer impression.

Superb oasis of comfort and serenity in a city of hustle & bustle. Food and service superb and the care offered by the staff was exceptional. Pool and area surrounding excellent as was the seperate sun bed area on the roof top terrace. Hamman was used for a body scrub and again the product supplied exceeded my expecations.

The Riad access is on a back street which is not what we would expect in western society. Don't be put off by the taxi driver pulling into ever narrowing road ways. It's worth the journey to get here.

Beautiful oasis in Marrakesh! As soon as you walk through the door, you are made comfortable in the garden with tea, nuts, fruit and cookies while you check in. The rooms are large, beautiful and stocked with treats from the cookies and water to the amazing bathroom, bed and birds singing outside in the garden. The staff couldn't be more helpful and pleasant. The bar, pool and restaurant are lovely with a fantastic breakfast in the garden and live music in the evening.
