Hotel V Fizeaustraat

The hotel is located just out of the main tourist area but super simple by train to get to. It was quiet and lovely location, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and lovely. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Amsterdam.

The exterior of the building is unassuming, but then it’s a surprise when inside

Decor and atmosphere are amazing, the place is so chilled and relaxed perfect for when you get back from a long day/night in the central Amsterdam. The bar is stocked with top shelf drinks and the food is great. Staff are so warm and welcoming more than happy to help with anything. Rooms are spacious have everything you need from a comfy bed to hot shower and TV. It’s surrounded with places to eat and supermarkets and it’s not even a five minute walk from the station and you can get 3 different metros and be in the city in 10 minutes. A weeks pass is 26 euro from the station and the last one back is 00:20. Can’t rate and recommend this hotel any higher my description does not do it justice.

Only issue was the double bed was two singles pushed together which I wouldn’t even care to mention just if you’re staying with your gf or wife etc it’s not the most comfortable or ideal.

Looked great! Big rooms! Was able to ask for a robe and I love that! Friendly staff. Super nice bar restaurant downstairs. Lovely cocktails and food. The cheeseboard was fantastic! Nice selection of design books dotted around rooms and facilities. Quite ideal to relax at the hotel. Also films selection on the television in the rooms. Cosy.

Our room didn’t get cleaned first time as we asked for it. We had to ask again. But then they did the cleaning that same evening as we were going out. Also the shower soap bottle is too small and we only got one for two persons for 3 nights. Had to ask for more. These bottles are like samples soap. Feels like there is better refill solutions for hotels. Especially who wants to be sustainable.

The thoughtful details in the room, such as free minibar and robes and slippers are not reflected by the low price. I’ve stayed on n expensive hotels that don’t even have this attention to detail. The decor, the staff, the whole vibe of the hotel was chilled out and fabulous. The food in the lobby bar is also lovely, we didn’t eat at the restaurant or have breakfast onsite so I can’t go in to detail on the food, but what we did have was very tasty. The staff really make the place though, attentive, friendly and helpful without being overbearing

The beds were quite hard and the pillows small and square which meant when you turn over in bed your head falls off the pillow. Only a small niggle and didn’t affect an overall wonderful stay. It would have been an easy 10/10 if not for this.

We stayed here two years ago so we are returning customers. I like the atmosphere, the lobby is very nice and cozy,staff very helpful. Actually the lobby was one of the reasons to return. We had a complimentary glass of champagne when arrived, daily apples and water on the house - small but considerate gestures. The location is also convenient, 8 minutes of pleasant walk to the metro station Amstelveen.

Comparing with my memories, the cleanliness could have been better - the carpet in the hall has stains and looked un-swept. Even in the room I wasn't sure if the floor was cleaned properly and there were undusted portions on the furniture. One thing I disliked for sure was the fact that slippers and bathrobes were apparently offered by request, but this was stated in the book in the room that guests may or may not consult to that level of depth.

From the pictures, I chose this hotel based on its modern decor and up market feel. When my boyfriend and I arrived, we immediately felt at home and comfortable, especially in the hotel lobby which features ambient lighting and relaxing music. The staff were so friendly and the rooms were incredible. Considering we booked two days before New Years, we were so happy that we were able to stay at Hotel V. Would 100% come back next time I’m in Amsterdam!

The only thing that could be improved would be a gym / spa facilities, however the lack of these didn’t impact our stay in the slightest.

Hotel is beautiful, and super tastefully decorated. The ambience of the place is just superb. Staff were super nice and helpful, and room service was fast! The attention to detail was magnificent (waters, apples, coffee, and tea). Restaurant served delicious breakfast. Location is great to get in and out of Amsterdam center.

The bed was extremely hard for us, but this was swiftly solved when we told the staff (with mattress topper). On some nights we were awaken repeatedly by banging doors and people shouting in the hotel (this, of course does not reflect on the hotel or staff, but rather other guests).

It was such a nice place. It was clean, extremely comfortable, and it was located quite close to the airport. and if you wanted to get to Amsterdam Central, it wasn’t too difficult.

My only complaint (and it’s purely personal) is that the food in the restaurant seems to be very “high class” I would say. It doesn’t seem to be a family friendly menu or a menu that has simple foods. This is an issue for me as someone who struggles with food. When you come back from exploring for the day, you might want a simple bowl of pasta with a sauce but, it seemed like that wasn’t an option from the menu. This might not be an issue for most, but for me, this was quite a big thing.
