This was in a fantastic location - very central and on a pretty street in the Nine Streets area (obviously?!). Everything was extremely easy - the instructions were clear and we were able to find the apartment and let ourselves in with no problem. The room was a great size with everything we needed. Michel was super-enthusiastic and gave us a very warm welcome when we met him.

Nothing really that we didn't like. Just a couple of things that slightly surprised us that we thought could have been made clearer. And maybe I just didn't read the description properly? Apologies to Michel if so! The stairs were VERY steep and narrow - this may be the case everywhere in Amsterdam, but it was my first visit and I thought if either of us had been at all infirm (or drunk!) I may have struggled. And the other thing is that I was expecting something more like a hotel, or B&B, because of the name, but actually its a self-service bedroom with bathroom. Nothing wrong with any of this, so I'm probably just being picky, but just would have liked to have known in advance.

The location is fantastic, close to everything, and a 5-minute walk from Dam Square. An excellent coffee place below the apartment. The jumbo supermarket across the street is perfect. The apartment itself is cozy and just the right size. Michel the owner is super friendly and hosptiable. A Netflix user in the TV and the fridge were an excellent addition.

The narrow stairs (but this is regular in Amsterdam) There is no air conditioning nor a ceiling fan, so there was a typical stationary fan, but it's not helping with cooling the place. The windows don't open all the way and are very hard to lift, and there are no nets on the windows, making lots of mosquitos enter the room and bite us.

The location of Nine Streets Inn was absolutely fantastic. It was easy to find and super central to everything. Michel was an incredible host who went above and beyond for everything. He gave us an umbrella and his own personal raincoat when there was an unexpected rainstorm coming through as well as offering us advice and help with anything we needed. The trip was for my fiancees birthday and he also gifted us a bottle of fizz too!

The only downside was a local party going on until the early hours underneath us on the Friday night which was pretty loud in the room, however this was coming from a separate building so not much the host could have done.

Location was awesome! So close to everything! We were able to walk everywhere and if we were tired, we just jumped on a tram or the metro. Super easy to get around! Our hosts were sooo kind and friendly! They live below the rooms so if you needed anything, they were right there. The room was clean and bright! There is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags up (and down) two flights of steep stairs. I would recommend staying here for sure!

The only thing that bothered me was that the floor was not level! Although this is quiet common in canal houses, it threw me off for a day as I had to get used to it. So weird! It didn't bother my spouse at all but I have sensitive inner ears!

Excellent location close to canals and Anne Frank House, walkable to everything we wanted to do. Room was clean and comfortable with lots of natural light facing the street. Host was very friendly and helpful letting us store our bags before check in and after check out.

Steep stairs were fine with our carry on luggage but would be tricky for guests with limited mobility or large luggage. The neighborhood was a bit noisy in the evening but it quieted down later and didn’t affect our sleep. Room could use a few more surfaces and/or hooks to put items and bags on during the stay but we were able to make it work.

Perfect location - can't be beat! Directly in the 9 Streets and while its quiet enough to sleep in here, there is great activity and access to shops and sights. The host was so genuine and kind and it felt much more authentic than a hotel since you're truly walking up the staircase of a local home to your room (its a private stairwell). Mdee us feel like locals and we loved every minute of it. Room was more spacious than expected which was great and the bathroom was newly remodeled for all the amenities we could ask for, including a nespresso machine.

The only opportunity here was more/softer pillows but don't let that deter you from a perfect homebase in Amsterdam!

Michel was a wonderful host. The room was exceeded our expectations -- it was larger than anticipated and the view of the Street below was so charming and quintessential Amsterdam. The room was spotless and felt very safe. The building was accessible via keypad combination; as was our private room on the second floor. We are a family of five (5) and as we required a bit more comfortable sleeping arrangements than the separate 2 bedroom airbnb we booked, so this room at Nine Streets accommodated our eldest, adult son. He used the room to get away from us as well as to sleep at night. Our airbnb with family size, dine-in kitchen and lounging-room was located 100m down the street.

What can I say - we opted to stay in the Nine Streets area so we were prepared to pay for the luxury of having every thing at our fingertips -- grocery stores, coffee shops, & bars, interesting shops with museums and parks a mere walk. Other than transporting to and from the airport, we never used a uber or taxi! Nine Streets was an affordable option we found in the area we wanted to stay in!

Location was excellent, within walking distance to just about everywhere. The mattress was truly a positive surprise, not overly soft, as has been our experience in Amsterdam. Full points for that! Slept very well in this bed. The room was quite basic but pleasant and clean. It had big windows but no disturbing street noise. Heating worked well. All in all we were quite happy with the accommodation.

As there was only one chair in the room, one of us had to sit on the bed - not an ideal situation. Two small chairs and a table would make a huge difference...

We were surprised to arrive and find out that there was no lift to get our bags upstairs. On top of that there were almost 40 STEEP and winding stairs. Thank goodness we were able to handle them, but the stairs were treacherous to say the least. Also, even though I know it’s not unusual for Europe, there is no air conditioning. We visited in May so that wasn’t so much a problem except that our room overlooked a city street and it was extemely noisy. Michel was great!!!

The room was big and bright. The facilities were clean and very comfortable. The location was perfect; just outside of the busy touristy area, however still central to everything. Michel was absolutely lovely and incredibly welcoming.

The stairs are very steep, but as long as you expect it, it’s fine! I had a very heavy 23Kg suitcase and got up and down perfectly fine (with the help of my boyfriend)
