The reception staff on the first day were totally unwelcoming and unhelpful . However the staff for the rest of our stay were absolutely wonderful, so helpful and friendly.

The rooms are quite small and some of them look across into other rooms, so one has to keep the curtains closed.

the staff are so professional but friendly. the extra touches in the lobby area, free tea and coffee, patisseries and sweets. fresh water in the room fridge every day. room cleaned every day

stayed here eight years ago and the only downside now is the coffee machine in the lobby has paper cups-for such a top class hotel would expect a proper cup.

Stunning hotel. The lobby is beautiful, with drinks and cookies available all day. Staff is very pleasant and helpful, and the location is superb. Our room was incredibly comfortable, with spotless facilities and a coffee machine. We liked the way the bathroom was a separate room from the shower and further from the bed. The lighting in the room is great. The gym is pretty small but functional.

Warm welcoming and one of the best hotels in town. We opted for a Deluxe room and cannot complain about anything. You can also relax and enjoy refreshments offered by the hotel in the lobby area. Breakfast is also exceptional. I highly recommend this hotel because it's worth every cent!

Breakfast quality is good though the variaties are limited. Very good and polite staff and really helpful to all clients although most of the time they are very busy. Location is absolutely very good . Building is beatifull and historical. Wifi connection moderate. Free tea or coffee and cookies are excellent.

Toilet was very small and disappointing though bath room was quite enjoyable and large.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in - this was my third stay and my sister’s first and we were both blown away by the gorgeous interior design, happy and friendly staff and attention to detail. The hotel is clearly run by people who are passionate about what they do and go the extra mile to give their guests a memorable stay. From the minute we arrived to such a lovely welcome (much needed after a horrendous journey) including a welcome gift for my sister’s birthday and being advised that breakfast would be free as I was a returning guest, to the minute we left we were delighted with every aspect of our stay. The breakfast was amazing, we couldn’t have asked for more. The free drinks, cakes and biscuits available throughout the day in the stunning lounge area are a welcome touch. Our room was beautiful too - spotlessly clean with everything we needed including robes and slippers, coffee machine, fresh chilled bottles of water each day and a gorgeous room spray. The bathroom was large with a separate powerful shower and a jacuzzi bath. The central areas are stunning and the hotel’s cats are delightful! It is a pricey hotel but well worth it. We will be back!

Having to leave!

A good hotel in a very good location within the canal region of Amsterdam. Right on the "Nine Streets" and close to the flower market, main shopping areas, canals, it enables easy walking to a large part of what Amsterdam has to offer, and decent access to things further afield, whether by walking a bit further or by tram, metro or taxi. 20 minutes walk North to the red light district or 30 minutes walk South to the museums, for example. The hotel itself was reasonable value for a city like Amsterdam - not too cheap and not as expensive as some. Room size was okay of not quite what I expected (our separate toilet, while being good for not being in the main bathroom, was tiny - more like a plane or train loo than a hotel!). The bar was good, with a decent range of starter type foods, a decent range of drinks and reasonable prices for wines and beers. Breakfast was pretty good, though as ever in these hotels, the hot was never hot enough! At 20 euros we at first felt it was a bit expensive, but after eating in the cafes (which don't open until 9am in Amsterdam!) it was actually pretty reasonable bearing gin mind the selection. You have to book for breakfast the day before, every day, and it is served from 7 until (i think) 10) The front desk staff were all fantastic, helpful, attentive and engaging. All round, good, and i would recommend a stay here.

Deluxe room seemed smaller than I expected, toilet was ridiculously small. Unless i missed it there was no restaurant other than the bar food and breakfast, but the location helped in this regard with several great places very close by - Gollem bar for beers, The 5 Flies and Casa di David for restaurants, as well as multiple others behind and along the Singel road/canal area.

A friend recommended this boutique hotel to us, and we're still friends as it was great. Our room wasn't large but still had room with 2 chairs and room for our luggage. Our room was quiet. The safe was at a good height (we've had rooms where it was on the floor!). The bathroom was a bit narrow but had all the necessary amenities, nice towels, good water pressure in the shower/tub combo. I usually ask for a twin room as sometimes they're just a bit larger than a room w/a larger bed, plus we're never sure that a large bed actually means an American king sz. The fabrics were lovely. Throughout the main lobby area, including an area where cookies, flavored watered, coffee, etc., were available all day, was very comfortable and attractive, as was the bar/breakfast area. Our room rate didn't include breakfast, but we decided to go for it as the selection was lovely. And we love a hotel with a bar. The front desk folks, especially Priscella and Jamy, were exceptional as they assisted in finding a near-by barber, an excellent Italian restaurant, a facility where we could get a Covid test which was required prior to our river cruise and then once I rec'd the results by email, assisted in helping me to send it to reception for them to print the results. Everyone we had contact with was great. The area has several restaurants, bars, shops galore. There's a tram stop not far away (which we discovered on our last day). The hotel is also within walking distance of Dam Square and the surrounding area which has loads of restaurants, shops, etc.

I don't blame this on the hotel at all, but according to my GPS, it showed the hotel as being an 8 min. walk from the train station. It certainly isn't, especially when you're a Senior!! lugging a 25" suitcase and a carryon each! Took us almost 45 min as my poor hubby had to stop and rest several times. If you arrive by train, take a taxi!!

Loved the location, vibe and overall experience; everywhere you look, there is something to be amazed by. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread was also just great; and they have little treats out at all other times. Just a fabulous stay!

Unfortunately we had a noisy night time visitor that woke us up: a mouse found its way into a sealed(!) bag of crisps, inside a backpack that was left on the floor.

Everything, nice friendly staff, beautiful hotel, brilliant quiet location but perfect for visiting all sights, comfy bed and pillows (if just a normal double) free tea & coffee, cake and biscuits all day in hotel lobby, absolutely fabulous breakfast.

I wouldn’t want this to put anyone off going to this fabulous hotel because it’s probably one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in, and we’ve done dozens in all sorts of towns, cities and countries. However, and this depends on each couple, but the toilet and shower was next to the bed behind frosted glass doors and privacy ends there, so if you’re like me and need your wife/partner to go out the room or wear headphones while you go to the loo then this could be something to consider!?
