NH City Centre Amsterdam

Lovely and helpful staff at the reception. Although our room was small (think bed that only has space on one side for a bedside table) the view was over the canal which was amazing - we could enjoy the early morning sun shining on the canal houses from the bed while sipping a cup of tea. The location is fantastic - you’ve got the cafes and shops of the 9 Straatjes on your doorstep and the museums are 15 mins walk away. Also really easy to get the tram to the central station (with direct trains for the airport).

Although the breakfast is nice (extensive buffet) it’s a bit pricey at €20pp (€17 if you book in advance). With so many lovely cafes just outside I would recommend going for those instead of the hotel breakfast.

Very clean and everything still looks new. Beds were comfortable. There was a small self-service kiosk for snacks and drinks in the lobby.

The room was quite small. There were no AC plugs next to the bed so we needed to charge phones overnight on the desk instead

The hotel enjoys an exceptionally good, central location, allowing access on foot to most attractions within 20 minutes. The room was very spacious, although the opposite was the case when we stayed on a previous occasion. The breakfasting room is bright and airy, and attractively layed out. The staff, especially Siri, who manages the excellent breakfast service, are very helpful and welcoming.

A steep flight of stairs up to the entrance can be somewhat challenging with a case. Also the corridor leading to our room had a very awkward rise with narrow steps, no doubt resulting from some feature of the original design of the building from which the hotel has been created.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel, and I must say that every aspect of my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the attentive staff. The hotel's impeccable cleanliness and attention to detail immediately caught my eye. The rooms were not only spacious and comfortable but also tastefully decorated, creating a cozy atmosphere that felt like a home away from home. Every aspect of this hotel is great. The delicious cuisine offered a great breakfast . The picturesque views of Amsterdam from my room were breathtaking, and the location couldn't have been more convenient for exploring the local attractions. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable and memorable. Their genuine hospitality and willingness to accommodate any request made me feel truly valued as a guest.

The location is perfect; staff is professional; canal view in room 327 (2 large windows)! Nice initiative of promoting 'green stay' with drink vouchers.

Feels like a 3-star rather than a 4-star hotel - challenging value for money. Rooms & furniture look very simple (not even a single picture/art on the wall) & not very well maintained (in both rooms the walls had luggage "scratches", in one room main light did not work, etc.). Room 329 was 'strange' in structure (only 1 window) so not really "good canal view" room. Throughout our weekend stay - one (of 2) elevators was out of order (and at some time even - that one was broken and guests were climbing steep Amsterdam stairs with luggage).

The temperature in room, was wonderful, and so the sound isolation. The breakfast was very nice, and worth it. The Wi-Fi was excellent, and the staff helpful. Location - excellent, less than 10 minutes from the dam square (by foot), and lot of things around.

The room was a bit small, most of the time we spend outside in the city/country, so it wasn't too bad. But for example it was hard to find place to open both of our suitcases. But we managed and really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel and hotel room was really clean and very comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!

Wish the room had been a little warmer.

Fabulous breakfast. First room we had the air conditioning did not work and went to request to change rooms. So very disappointed that it occurred. They moved us to another room and the air conditioning worked very well and also had a much better view. So very relieved. We also had a late check out till 4 pm for a small additional fee. So loved that as our flight was not till very late that evening. Location awesome, close to all the main areas.

Room was very small. Price was very expensive compared to other hotels we stayed in throughout Europe that were just as good if not better.

Staff unbelievably helpful and patient on check-in. Gave us a choice of rooms and showed us the rooms so that we could choose. Lovely staff at breakfast. Excellent choice of foods for breakfast and very high quality. Location of hotel was perfect for us - next to quieter section of canal but bustling corners one minute walk away. Ten minute walk from museums, restaurants and main square. Walking distance from station, even with cases. Quietest and most effective air-con we have ever had in a hotel room. Free drink voucher if you didn't want you room cleaned every day. Both lifts always working.

Drinks available at night but no real bar area meant having to drink in breakfast room or in reception area.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful although not over friendly. Location was superb! The hotel provided a parking arrangement which was great although it was tight and hard to maneuver inside. But given the fact that we were smack in the middle of Amsterdam, it was to be expected as Amsterdam as a city doesn’t really cater to cars.

We were traveling as a family so we booked two rooms. The larger room had a city view and was very spacious. The smaller room had a windows looking into the shaft of the building and other hotel rooms letting in almost no light. In addition the room was very small which contributed the underwhelming experience of that room.
