ibis Rotorua

Love the location - close to restaurants, moments from the lake front, and short 10-minute walk to the centre of town. Hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. Housekeeping are fabulous, they made every day a comfortable one. for us. We spent a week at IBIS Rotorua and loved our stay.

The cooked breakfast items (bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, spaghetti, baked beans, etc) were on the buffet for at least 40 minutes before the restaurant opened. Would have been super delicious if hot. but it was not. Please revisit the timing of putting out food - it was more cold that warm on both days we ate.

Room was comfortable, though I did have to share my bed with the child so turns out not quite big enough to get a decent sleep, but bed was lovely and comfy. Would have been nice to have a bottle of fresh cold water in the room rather than using the bathroom tap for drinking & taking medication.

The air con filters could have been better, after all heap filters can filter out virus particles & sulphur particles are larger than virus ones. We know the smell of the geothermal is very strong but when we turned the air con down to where we were comfortable the stink factor shot up 20 fold.

Very comfortable beds. Plenty comfy pillows. Fresh clean linen. Excellent heating/cooling. Good shower pressure. Clean. Basic necessities.

Small cramped space, as to be expected for 2x double bed room. Wouldn't recommend if you plan to stay at hotel full time. Good room for sleeping only and spending most of your time out. Bathroom spacious but outdated. No hotel information regarding facilities, food availability, rule/requirements, etc in the room. Staff member checking us in was unfriendly, staff member checking out was pleasant and friendly. Entrance was a little confusing walking in main door no signs pointing to check in reception. On site car parking limited and awkward. Resorted to parking on road.

Good wifi included. The room and beds were comfortable. The hotel was a comfortable walk to several restaurants. An easy find and on a nice quiet street.

The one disabled parking space was not enforced and some parked there without a placard. The bathroom sink looked like it had a white mineral looking film around the drain it and didn't look very nice. The bathroom needed some upgrading. No soap is provided except for an all-in-one bottle in the shower stall. A removable handle in the shower would also be nice.

Our room was upgraded to a lake side view room with a king size bed instead of a city view with x2 queen size beds, for the same prize which was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. Thanks

There as only 1 flannel in the bathroom for 2 of us. Should have an option for soap in bathroom for guests who don't like or are allergic to gels. The tea and coffee were not well stocked. Otherwise e had a very pleasant stay in your facility. Thanks

The bed was extremely comfortable The lakeside view was tremendous The bedroom and shower were very clean The fridge was very useful On the second time of going down to reception and asking, I was brought a bottle of fresh milk by a very pleasant young staff member who asked if she could bring more tea bags etc. Appreciated

The entrance area and reception are sterile and decor is functional. They need brightening up with pictures, side tables and plants. The armchair in my room had a few tears in the cover and the foam stuffing was coming out making it look scruffy which was so at odds with the rest of the bedroom furniture and fittings One of the lifts was out of order for the whole of the 2 days I was there

Great location close to the venue we were attending , clean and comfortable. Staff were great at check in and check out, super friendly and chatty.

the lack of information about hotel amenities in the room and the hotel channel on the TV did not work or come with instructions how to access. Cleaners knocking on the door at 945am when check out was 11am . being told our room was to be cleaned ASAP for a VIP when the room next door was vacant and identical .

Great location, comfortable bed, and easy walking distance to the town centre.

At 3-4am the room would aircon would fill the room with strong smelling Sulphur laden air that had me almost throwing up for two nights in a row. I believe this is due to wind direction but they need to filter the air. Room service was not really room service due to staff shortages as the kitchen was closed so any food was walked across for the Novotel hotel next door and had to be collected from reception. much better off walking into town or ordering via Uber Eats. better food, better price.

Great location, Clean and tidy room, and nice and quiet Very handy walk to the Cat cafe!

Came from out of town for speedway so weren't coming home till late at night, I would've preferred to have it made clear on the booking.com that you cant be guaranteed a carpark as when I asked staff member at check-in she was very dismissive and said Oh no there won't be a carpark at that time of night you will have to park out on the road.

Fabulous location!! Comfortable beds, great aircon system, green view, very quiet no noise disturbances in our room, easy to work tv good connection, easy internal access to carpark. Decent size car park. Lovely staff member checked us out.

There was a huge stain on the carpet between the beds. A third towel wasn’t given for our daughter and there was no milk. The lady who checked us in wasn’t too friendly or patient.
