Distinction Te Anau Hotel & Villas

The hotel’s location is wonderful! Lots of activities nearby. The room has access to the lawn. There is an excellent children's playground within walking distance. The hotel staff is very friendly!

The hotel needs some cosmetic renovations inside and out. But that didn’t stop us from having a good time)

The location was great, being just a few minutes to walk into town. It is also opposite Lake Te Anau, which has a lovely walk along the lakefront. The hotel is spacious and our room was a good size with a lovely view of the lake. All the staff we met, were very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom is a bit on the small side but did have a bath. There was at least lots of space to put your toiletries. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly. On our third and last morning, we were very disappointed to find that we couldn't have a buffet breakfast because there weren't any tour groups in and it wasn't worth putting out a lot of food for the other guests. We had a choice from a set menu, so we didn't go hungry!

Excellent location and view of the lake. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice pool and easy to use laundry. Good breakfast. Sheets and towels very good. Very nice outdoor seating and tables with water view.

Would have liked a better mattress. Dinner good, but not exceptional. Like to see some upgrades to rooms.

The location here is great! If you have a view room you will be looking out at the beautiful lake with is right across the street. Rooms are big and have dishes, kettle, fridge, etc. Easy enough to have a bucket of ice delivered. Outdoor picnic tables are perfect for games, relaxing with friends, etc.

pool needed to be cleaned. breakfast a la carte took like 40 minutes (buffet is available)

Fantastic smorgasbord breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff. Gorgeous comfy beds and lovely and quiet.

The price of a glass of pinot noir!! My fault should have asked the price when deciding what pilot to have.

Beautiful view from the rooms that are in the main building and face the lake. The villas have nice extra space in their rooms. Everyone was happy.

The staff were so warm and welcoming and the hotel was much better than expected - can’t understand why it doesn’t have an overall higher rating.

Comfortable, warm and clean with lovely bathroom and generous sized lounge area. Laundry facilities available. Pretty garden with flowering shrubs. Villas were much better inside that the appearance on the outside.

TV had poor choice of channels.

Good location, walking distance from Te Anau center. Nice restaurant for dinner. Nice and large bathroom (family villa).

A bit noisy due to thin walls. Too few rooms have a lake view. Mattresses were too soft.

Friendly staff went the extra mile. Excellent food in the restuarant, amazing breakfast, great service.
