Jardim da Lapa by Shiadu

Lovely, well presented and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff and pleasant breakfast. The infinity pool was a great feature and the gardens very relaxing and well maintained. The hotel is on a quiet street amongst a number of embassies and a regular bus service to central Lisbon operates from the end of the street. About 10 mins travel time.

The only thing that detracted slightly was the planes overhead which appear to operate all night long and which meant we needed to use AC overnight rather than open windows. However, I suspect the whole of Lisbon will have the same issue as the flight path to / from the airport seems to cross the city.

very good breakfast, more diverse than in other similar hotels. Lapa is our favorite area in Lisbon, so great location. it is a bit far from the very touristic city center, but the area is beautiful and well connected to the center.

we got a standard room and weren't very satisfied with the quality/price ratio: - there is a 2-3cm space under the entrance door, so we could hear anyone passing on the corridor, and the cold air was getting in - on top of that the window didn't close well, so there goes noise and temperature isolation - the floor was squicky, so each time someone walked in the room above, we would wake up - one of the towels we got had holes in it and was literally falling apart - walls have marks on them, that could be easily covered or washed. these last two thigs would be very easy to fix, so we felt a lack of respect toward the guests

Helpfulness off the staff, everyone tried to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and really seemed interested in us as guests. We were offered coffee/drinks on arrival and also early morning coffee one day we had to leave for an early tour before the kitchen was open for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was superb, such a variety and immaculately presented. Quiet residential/diplomatic area, no noisy tourists or traffic.

Being in a residential area, it would have been helpful for some more info on local restaurants etc. Perhaps the reception could consider adding this info to the local map.

The breakfast was excellent, with lots of options, and a very nice dining room or patio where one could eat it. The hotel is within a walled compound with nice grass and trees around it and plenty of space. The staff were very helpful in recommending what sites to visit, and even fixed a simple salad and toasted ham and cheese sandwich for me when I did not have time to go out for dinner. There was a very nicely landscaped courtyard with a beautiful pool with lounge chairs and grassy areas. My room was of moderate size, very comfortable bed, clean and modern. The neighborhood was quiet, outside of the main tourist area, in an area with several embassies, including the US embassy which was on the same block. There were not a lot of restaurants within the first 2 blocks, but walking a bit further got you to the Basilica where there were more restaurants and a very nice public park with big trees and many people enjoying it.

I loved everything so it’s hard to say! First of all, Joanna and Ugu (I am not sure of the spelling) we’re both AMAZING. Actually everyone was exceptionally nice and helpful to me and they were just wonderful people. Next I would say I loved the privacy and quiet and peace of the place , I felt very safe with the strong door. I loved the security, and the of course I would say I loved how beautiful and serene the pool and sunbathing areas were. I do wish the pool area was bigger but this was just such a cute place in reality, not just in pictures!

This hotel was a nice surprise. It's a little oasis in the middle Lisbon and once you're inside the gate, you can't tell you are in the city. The property is a former embassy compound and is charming. Our room was in the new building and had its own outside entrance, which was convenient. The room itself was a little smaller than we would have liked, but it was adequate and our friend who was staying in the building across the yard said his was considerably larger. The bathroom was large and well appointed. The breakfast it is outstanding! There was a large variety sweet and savory food and everything was very well prepared and presented. If we find ourselves in Lisbon again, we'll stay here again. The staff was friendly, helpful and informative.

Very nice property situated in a quiet area. Swimming pool is a great addition to refresh after time spent in the city. Nicely designed and decorated. We were in a triple room that was well equipped and right sized for us. Extremely helpful and nice staff. Breakfasts were really good with a proper selection of food. You can also grab some snacks during lunch time. Walking distance around 5-10 mins to tram or bus but you get the benefit of being in a quiet nice location. Overall highly recommended and planning to return

The outdoor area and pool are amazing. A little paradise in the midst of the city. The garden is very well taken care of. Breakfast was also great, fresh eggs, lots of variery and fresh fruit.

The room is very small and the way it is designed doesn't help. For example, there is no coat rack and also lack of hangers in the bathroom. There's a large vintage closet occupying the entrance and in general the room is a bit claustrophobic. But for summer it's great and you can spend all your time outside in the garden.

Lovely heated swimming pool. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, AC, kettle and a fridge. A lift upstairs if you're staying upstairs. Breakfast selection is very good and includes pastries, eggs, continental food, fruits etc. Staff are so friendly and attentive.

Location is a little far from restaurants and bars etc. but bolt/uber is so cheap (like 4 euros into city centre) and there is a shop a few mins walk so its perfect really. Nice quiet location with lovely surroundings and architecture.

The hotel is in a perfect quiet and safe but still fairly central location. Parking for our car was easily found on the street and updated by app. The pool was so tranquil and peaceful after the long days. Breakfast was varied and delicious

The rooms were a bit small and the designated smoking area was essentially in the middle of the common area which is a bummer
