Porto City House

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and had the required facilities we needed. The room was cleaned daily, towels changed and bed made. The location was great we got to where we needed by walking, getting a quick bus ride or got cabs which were affordable.

When we initially got there the room wasn’t so clean and utensils, plates were dirty but after that the room was cleaned daily. It would be great if the property could have more than one iron, at times we needed to use it and had to wait for it. It would also be great if the property could put a notice on the mini bar on the site or tell them in person on arrival that it’s not included in the price. On booking.com it got a tick on the list of things provided to you at the property so it gives the impression that it’s included within the price. I also wasn’t informed there it’s not part of the bill and was charged extra when I left.

The room was spacious enough and clean, the bed was comfy. It had a small kitchenette with a sink, stove, fridge and cabinets that included cups, cutlery and plates. This was useful for prepping some meals in the room. The location of the hotel is nice, in a green neighbourhood with beautiful houses. The hotel is located at 40 min walking distance from the beach and 30 min by bus from the city center. The staff were beyond helpful and nice.

The bathroom was spacious but the shower cabin was very small, a bit claustrophobic and definitely not for overweight people. We had to slide and enter it from a diagonal angle. If you drop something inside the cabin there is no room to bend over and pick it up. The breakfast is always served cold, does not include hot dishes (ham, cheese and a small bun for a sandwich, 2 pastries baked every night by the reception staff and served each morning, orange juice and coffee). First two days we enjoyed it but it is definitely not something you can eat every morning for 5 days.

The room itself was spacious, as was the bathroom. Lovely shower. The tiny kitchen was sufficient for our needs. The location worked well for us as we hired a parking space for our car and so were easily able to get around. There are a number of restaurants and a good supermarket within around 6-7 minutes walk which was great. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. I have dairy allergy and they managed to accommodate that with breakfast which was appreciated. A big thank you to all the staff who worked there - made all the difference to our stay.

The property is close to a main road and could be a bit noisy at times as our room was at the front of the building - it didn't stop us from sleeping though! I think we would get a room at the back next time we stay as it would be much quieter.

The staff was great! They were all friendly and courteous. They were extremely helpful at all times. The room was clean for the most part. The view was nice.

The first night I kept smelling something sour and discovered it was the bed sheets. Apparently the bed linen had not been changed from the last guest but I had them change the bed linen and the smell was gone! The shower was made for a petite person which I am not and was not accustomed to having to literally squeeze in the shower. It was difficult to even bend over to wash my feet. Shower is much too small. I am a size 16. Also there are no grab bars so this is not the greatest for an older woman. Minimal toilet paper so I kept having to ask for another roll. Toilet paper rolls are extremely small.

The “kitchen” was just barely anything that could be called a “kitchen.” It was so small and poorly equipped that we didn’t even TRY to use it. (Instead, we left after only two nights, when we had originally booked for 7.). Worst part: the “kitchen” had no means for making coffee. The ONLY way to have a cup of coffee at this place is to buy it at the front deck, and if you want it before 7 am, you’re TOTALLY out of luck. Front desk staff don’t start until 7 am

Super friendly, helpful and efficient team on reception. Room was dark, quiet (for a city location) and the air conditioning worked well.

The beds are comfortable but the mattress is some kind of artificial foam so it is way too warm in hot weather. There needs to be a natural fabric mattress topper. Breakfast tray includes a plate with both ham and cheese, not great for veggies - these should be served separately or a pre-ordered on check in in the same way that the coffee / tea is done.

I had no breakfast included, but at reception I was told about a coffee shop quite close to the apartment with an excellent quality! Education level and friendliness at reception is wonderful.

I have no negative remarks about my stay and the installations.

We were visiting family and Porto City House was near them. There are several small restaurants and cafes nearby. It was nice and quiet. Parking possibility is a big plus as well.

There could be some fruit or yogurt with the breakfast. It would be nice to have a bar service (there was beer in the minibar, but I do not like beer.

Everything was fine. The location was perfect for me, but it's a bit far away from the city center. Breakfast was standard, but it was totally suitable for me. I guess for more than 3 days, this breakfast would be boring.

It was cold in the room. 15°C heat and I wasn't able to change it.

1) The kitchenette could be better equipped: e.g. coffee maker, wine glasses,... 2) The place is fairly close to a highway. Even if behind a wall, one can always hear the traffic. But we got used to it after one day.
