Barcelona City Hotel

It’s right in the middle of everything! 1 block away from Casa Batlló. Our room was nice and clean, looked exactly like the pictures. The beds were very comfy. A bit noisy but, what would you expect for a place downtown Barcelona??! The staff was very kind. We asked for references on where to eat local food and they gave us the best recommendations. The key system seems complicated but it isn’t once you use it, just make sure to have a cellphone with working internet. We can’t wait to stay there again next time we visit BCN!

The shower was VERY slippery: I fell in it, and it did not have anything to hold on to. It wasn’t serious, yet could’ve been. Maybe investing in anti slippery mat and/or a bar on the wall? Not a bad idea

The location is awesome! Really one of the best places in the city!💪 You are super close to Casa Batlló, there are numerous caffes and shops, smal 24h supermarkets. The building (I mean the whole one) is a bit oldish in its typically European classic way. But there were 2 elevators to reach the hotel's floor. The room is simple, but tidy and has everything: beds, hote water, WiFi, a wardrobe, hairdryer, and so on. Shampoo and shower gel included. The twin bed may be a little bit short for those who are higher than 180, but still cosy. Bedsheets and towels were clean, bathtub and toilet too. There is also the kitchen area, where u may have a cup of tea or coffee, cook some food, and so on. The stuff was really helpful and answered our messages in WhatsApp pretty fast. Btw, the self check-in system is deliberately helpful! Thank you for making our holiday so comfortable and "downtowned" 🤗!!

Perfect location ( in the heart of barcelona), The receptionist were nice and friendly, my room was perfectly tidy and clean , the keys system were very easy , the kitchen were very good, I felt very welcome ❤️

The shower support did not support the shower, I took a shower holding the shower. I confess that I didn't report it because I didn't want people entering the room to do maintenance because I had my valuables. So it was my choice to take an uncomfortable shower. But I believe that everything should be 100% due to the price of the place. The kitchen is used by the housekeepers to iron the sheets and next to it there was a washing machine so when I went to have a quick meal it was very noisy. I believe that it should be a separate environment or guests should be informed about the times that the kitchen is being occupied.

Ended up going to Barcelona last minute from Andorra as there wasn't much snow so book BCH lalast minute. The day before we arrived I received a whatsapp from BCH confirming all my check in details whoch I thought was really good and when I arrived it made it easy. The guys on reception couldn't have done a better job for our stay, very friendly and very helpful. I ended up staying for 4 nights (2 nights with friends and 2 by myself) and found for a budget hotel the price was amazing as its a 2 min walk to La Rambla and many places for coffee and food around. The room was nice and comfortable and the single bed I had was actual very nice and our room had a small balcony overlooking the street. Just want to say thanks again to the staff as they did an amazing job from start to finish

Nothing I could complain about

The room was just as described: a single bed with air conditioning and a private bathroom. Everything I wanted. the staff was very friendly and quick to provide anything I needed. The building is secure and used an app-based door lock (make sure your phone has enough charge to get home and get in). Common room with water and I think coffee, though I didn't really use. Wifi was fast enough for me to do homework. Location was great, rent a bike or scooter and it's a short hop to the Gothic Quarter, Sagrada Familia, and two of Gaudi's buildings. The Egyptian Museum is also close by. The bus is a short walk away.

The walls were a bit thin, but it's an old building in the middle of Barcelona, so that was to be expected.

The staff at reception were excellent and very helpful. Our room was very clean and tidy. The air conditioning worked well and was very quiet. There is a shared kitchen room with a freezer and fridge available with cutlery and plates etc...this was very useful.

The wi-fi in our room (the second level of the hotel) was very patchy at times. The strength of the signal should be increased.

Central placement

- room is too small - there is no place for the luggage - bed is too short or you should be hobbit - very noisy. There is no sound insulation, you just hear everything and if your neighbors speaking at night it sounds like they do it in your room - 3 days towels were not changed - there is no physical key so if you haven't internet on your phone, you will need to buy a local sim

Staff were friendly. The rooms bathroom was nice. Perfect location, we walked everywhere. The doors works with either pincode or phone link. The best hairdryer I've ever used.

The walls were thin as paper, we could hear the other room having an argument, and if someone was walking in the corridors, slamming a door, talking, etc. To us this was more of a hostel than a hotel. Stairs to elevator was a minus with heavy bags, luckily we were two to get them up.

Great location, great stuff. For a one star hotel is great one. You can't expect 4, 3 or even 2 star hotel. Its clean and stuff is 5star.

I didnt like that I booked one star hotel at 130 euros per night. But, this was the cheapest hotel in center of Barcelona. So, there is nothing what i didn't like actually. Because of stuff, price and great location i would maybe book again.

The room was really clean and soundproofed. The balcony was on a very noisy street but we couldn't hear a thing. The location is AMAZING. Not even 10 min from Placa Catalanya and La Rambla. Casa Battlo and casa Milla is really close. There is a metro station only 2 min away, L3 passes from there which is the most convenient line for all tourist attractions. The guys were really kind.

The only thing that created us some trouble is the fact that there's no-one at the hotel after 6PM and since we arrived later than this, we had to walk with our luggages to take the keys for our room from another location. It wasn't that far away, maybe 5-7 min of walking, but still, not the most convenient situation.
