D Varee Residence Montara Thonglor 25

I did not expect much when I came there, but the room, slightly outdated but still perfectly fine. The biggest bonus was the balcony and washing machine and bathtub. Had small issues with the hot water but nothing major. I also really liked the shuttle that you could order and they would drive you wherever you want (within reason)

Well the hot water was a small issue but got that fixed, beside that it is not much not to like. Some people do not like the location but in my mind it was perfect quiet and they had a shuttle driving your on demand to Sukhumvit road so you could always get there easily. Then take motor taxi back for 40 bahts.

Breakfast comes with room and was served to our room. It's a nice breakfast, but it's the same every morning. The room size is great. I like the separate bedroom and the kitchenette is also a good size however we had to ask for extra dishes as there was really only enough to serve kne person. The fridge is full size and works great. The stove takes some work to get it to get hot and cook. We didn't try out the oven. Barely any cooking utensils or pots/pans. The washer works great, but no clothes drying gadget. Have to hang in shower. AC and hot water works great. There are two AC units, but the living room unit cools the entire unit. The staff is wonderful, but the language barrier can be a challenge. There is free shuttle to the BTS or places near by. The traffic is horrible so walking around can be dangerous as there are no sidewalks. Overall, this is not a bad place. We enjoy it.

Staff were all very helpful and friendly. The little coffeeshop downstairs was a great little place to sit for a bit in the morning. The parking/hotel guard was a great guy; always smiling, saluting and laughing. The room was very very clean, and the housemaids were always busy, keeping the room spotless and the free water filled. Even when I was in the room doing some work they'd come in and give it a quick sweep after asking. Atmosphere was relaxed with mostly families and couples. It's right down near the bottom of Thong Lor, so prepare for a good 25min uphill walk if you want to make it to the main street. Great area, though, with an insane amount of amazing food places (no surprise, it's Thailand); but there are some real gems tucked away. Burger Box is hidden in this trendy micro-mini complex a stones throw from the hotel, and 5mins further up there's a Thai restaurant called Joke. Go in and order the pork Hang Lay curry. Highly recommended

Location quite ok since it has shuttle service to Emquartier Mal which is code to Phrom Phong BTS station.

Bathroom flush and shower wasn't working properly.. washing machine wasn't working.

Stayed in the suite which was spacious and comfortable. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh water provided each day. Pool was very nice. Location was good - close to Baan Don pier which has a public transport boat running on the river which was very cheap (less than 20 baht) and boats arrived frequently. (Handy transport to get to touristy areas near Koh San Road). Overall pleased with the accomodation!

The suite has a kitchen but very few kitchen utensils. No dish soap or cloths to wipe the work tops, no brush etc. Didn't see any air con units in the gym so it was very warm, would have been very difficult to exercise in there.

- friendly and accommodating staff (I complained about my room being a bit too dark and I was immediately moved to a bright corner unit), - clean, practical apartment, with kitchenette, separate bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub, - nice, small gym and pool on the rooftop, - great location, - good value for money.

Wifi could be a tad better, but that's hardly a problem with ultra fast mobile internet available.

Everything met my expectations except two issues: 1. The water in the shower wasn’t hot, it barely got warm. 2. The couch was very uncomfortable and furniture needs to be updated.

The next building was under construction and it was a bit noisy for a few days. The kids pool was half full and the filters did not work
