Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit Thonglor Bangkok

We were here for about 3 weeks (we've extended our stay after the initial Booking reservation) because we had someone sick in the nearby hospital, and the hotel was close for us to go there every day. So, the location was good for us, but it's not at all a touristy place. The rooms were big and clean and we found the kitchen very useful. The staff was also nice, but we found that most people we've met had some trouble speaking in English (even at the hospital...). But we've managed. There's a rooftop pool and gym, which we found nice.

The breakfast buffet is far from "fabulous" as they advertise. I was sick and tired of the same few things offered each morning and of the little space available for eating. We decided to eat at our room a lot of the times (there's a supermarket behind the hotel). The AC was very annoying: without it, it was super hot. When the AC was on, though, even on the lowest setting, it was freezing and very noisy. There was also too much light coming from the bedroom window (you'll need a sleeping mask).

The rooms are stylish, spacious and have all of the amenities you'd want. The staff is very pleasant and everything was quite clean! Location is great - it's right in the middle of the "Japanese town" of Bangkok, so there's many good japanese food places nearby. Also the BTS skytrain (main mode of transport when you're in Bangkok) is only 10-15min walk away. Oh and they have a bidet! I was so happy..

The ventilation/aircon system is... loud. Like, really loud. Also it's central, so we didn't just get unlucky - it's the same in every room. We'd turn it off for the night and then turn it back on in the morning at ~7a.m. when the sun started to heat up the room. Worked well, but still a bit annoying.

Big hike from BTS, or need to get taxi. Check in took a little while as needed to get confirmation of negative PCR result - would have been good to know and prepare in advance…

There was weird smell outside of the room, not a big deal though, the room itself was clean Not enough sunlight in the room, had to turn on lights during the day Small gym, but at least there is a gym

Staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful, going out of their way to assist our every request from getting beers, collecting vape and other takeaways which we ordered and they helped. Wish I could remember their names, but I would say all of them working during Songkran weekend were awesome.

charging us thb1k for a broken glass pot. Might have been a special brand, that's why so much.. I'm not sure..

- Nice and friendly staff. - Clean room and comfy bed. - Room facilities. - 24hr space area at the lobby with nice decoration. - Automatic toilet seat. - I will definitely come back and will request a room on a higher floor.

- Not a walking distance between BTS and the hotel. - Push button actived hair dryer with low response even the staff provided me the spare one but still did not work.

i stayed in 2 bedroom apt and it was very spacious and clean, big comfortable bed with 2 bathrooms in each room. staff are also very helpful and friendly. great location too

the bath towers are a bit dated. i guess it is due to Covid and less travelers for last 2 years. otherwise I would give a perfect score for this hotel.

I really liked everything except the internet connection. I only wished we had stayed more days at this hotel. It was super clean and comfortable.

I didn't like that I had 4 people in my party and we only were given 2 passwords. We had to constantly switch and try to accommodate each other that way. It was time consuming.

The best location in Thonglor. J Avenue is right at your doorstep, The Commons is two minutes away on foot. The staff were friendly and efficient, the pool on the rooftop was quiet and relaxing. You've got a washing machine (and a bit of detergent), a proper kitchen with all the utensils you would need, a coffee maker, and a wardrobe - it makes your stay really comfortable and homey :)

My only complaint was that the pillows were too high and hard.
