This old building was quaint and exactly what we'd hoped. The room was recently updated, huge, compared to most older buildings with a very large and updated bathroom, including a bathtub. The location was perfect for us, as we planned to just take walking tours of Bath. The recommended car park worked out great and was within an easy walk of the Inn. The location was close to all the sites we were interested in, plus the bus station, which was helpful, as we had luggage to haul after dropping off our rental car. Unfortunately, we arrived during a heat wave and found it hard to keep the room cool. This is expected in an old building without A/C and we knew going in that this could be the case. There was a good fan in our room and dark curtains we could draw against the afternoon sun, which helped. The breakfast was great and the people all were nothing but nice and helpful. It was fun to have a place to sit outside in the evening with a cool drink.

We enjoyed our stay at The Black Fox. The bedroom and bathroom were cute, clean and adequate for a 2 night stay. It's in a great location for walking around and it's extremely convenient to have a bar and dining so close.

We understand that air conditioning is not typical in older buildings and we knew that ahead of time. Despite having a fan and leaving the window open, the room stayed warm and it wasn't the best for sleeping. Just something to note for customers if this is a difficulty for you. We loved the bar downstairs and all of our gin choices but we found the prices to be a little high.

Located very centrally the black fox is a nice collection of rooms above a cool pub. You are within walking distance of both the train and bus station for easy arrival and additionally very close to all the attractions, The room was well designed and finished to an excellent level. The breakfasts were very good and helped to start the day off well. Staff were always polite and helpful when needed.

We enjoyed the stay so would recommend to anyone that asks so none of the following are deal breakers. The floor is uneven which makes you feel a little unstable and the windows are only single glazed so you can hear the street noise. Presumably these are limitations of an old building which is ultimately part of the charm of Bath anyway so no big problem.

The location was great, Breakfast was fab, room was lovely with good amenities and a Dyson fan. Nice TV with access to a few channels, and very close to a carpark which I think is the best you can expect in any city centre hotel! Would definitely recommend I think.:)

Our shower temperature dial was jammed so sadly we couldn't get anything less than super hot water. It was quite a warm day and being in the loft room it was incredibly warm even with the fan, it's also difficult to put lifts in buildings that old but we saw a couple of people struggling with the stairs. A slight musty smell in the bar on checkin but was gone by breakfast :)

The staff, (two lovely girls) were really amazing. The breakfast was great , the room was nice but quite difficult to access with 3 flights of stairs to climb with our luggage ! The tea & coffee facilities in the room were very welcome & a really nice touch was a full bottle of drinking water for the night. x

They should have more staff in the bar in the evening.. one lovely girl to cover .. check in .. the bar & the evening food service was just too much for one person to cope with in a very busy & popular pub .. even though she was amazing & managed really well .. The chef ran out of peas, the only green vegetable option with the fish & chips & as there was a supermarket close by it seemed a little disappointing They were turning away many expectant diners wanting to eat as the kitchen closed at 8o’clock which seemed pretty early !!!

Absolutely fabulous location, close to the railway station and right in the centre of Bath. Room was a lovely size even though we were on the top floor with a sloping roof, it didn't cause us any issues. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was really nice. The beers and the gins in the bar were well worth a visit if you're staying at the hotel.

I had a room on the third floor; the only negative is I'm 5"8 and had to stoop in the shower to be able to wash my hair, it just wasn't high enough; the shower was fixed to the wall so I couldn't move it up any further. The water pressure was on the low side and so it kept slowing down and dripping through which was a bit frustrating. This is the only reason I've marked the hotel down, however, it would not stop me from staying again.

The room and bathroom were both very spacious and exceptionally clean and in the main well appointed; all certainly punching well above expectations for a budget hotel. The Breakfast was in line what you would expect from a budget hotel.

Despite having a spacious room, there was nowhere to put clothing i.e. no shelves, drawers or cupboard; wasn't even a suitcase stand, so we spent 4 nights with clothes and cases on the floor. Lunch and evening food, sadly were very poor in both quality and menu selection. In a city with a plethora of eateries, I'm afraid the Black Fox needs to seriously up it's game.

Very central, we walked down from the Long Stay car park in Charlotte St., and our reason for visiting Bath was to see a play at the Theatre Royal, so the Black Fox was very convenient. Excellent breakfast, and evening meal, friendly efficient staff. Our quirky room was in the roof so it was a long climb up and down, but the pictures on the stairs were interesting, and there was a tiny duck! However, our room up there was quiet and we would definitely stay again!

There were only a couple of milk pots in our room, definitely need at least six per day!

The location of the property is ideal to visit the main tourist attractions of Bath and surrounding cities like Bristol since it's just a 5 minutes walk to the railway station and bus stop. There are numerous restaurants and shops nearby due to it being in the city centre. The breakfast options were many and they were prepared well. Rooms were cleaned daily and tasty snacks were provided for accompanying the coffee and tea. The bath was a lovely addition to the room and helped us relax and enjoy the stay even more.

The place is a bit pricey although it is justified!
