Malmaison Birmingham

Fantastic hotel, right at the heart of Birmingham. The room was spacious and my wife recons the bed was the comfiest bed she has slept in, in a hotel It was quiet in the evening, no noise from other rooms.

At breakfast we where shown to our table in the lovely restaurant, feeling very relaxed from a good night's sleep, to be put next too the noisiest family ever. The parents did not keep 1 of there children quiet, it screamed and shorted all the time, with a 2nd child screaming every now and then. Our breakfast was spoilt, at no point did any staff consider other diners and say something to the family, This TOTALLY spoilt breakfast.

LOVED the service in the restaurant. Sunny and Warren were consumate professionals who took very good care of us - we are a difficult pair with various allergies and they were funny, friendly and professional. I even tried to tip them and they said it was unnecessary! Don't let those two employees ever leave!

Reception - the welcome was poor, we waited ages and the guy on reception didn't seem to care to help us when we asked about the arena which we later learned was five minutes away. He told us he had never heard of it. Later that night he told us he had ordered us a cab. It never arrived, which might be the cabs fault of course, but my daughter and I didn't see him call one - he just said he had - we were stood at the desk the entire time. Basically, it came across as he just could not be bothered and we must have been interrupting his break or something. It was the worst service at a reception desk I have had in decades. The worst part was that we missed the satrt of our concert because of him and his non cab calling behaviour.

Location is amazing. Really cool hotel, always stay here when going to gigs in Bham, right by train station and academy, Brindley place, icc and arena. AC was second! The shower was fab - hot water straight away at perfect temp, no waiting for it to warm up, nice and powerful.

Bit annoyed that the bedsheets weren’t tucked in properly and when I did it myself I found a used black paper straw down the side! The breakfast was good flavour-wise but hot food arrived cold and they ran out of pastries by 9.30am - we had to ask for more to be put out - think staff should be more attentive about this.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Malmaison, and it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment we stepped foot into the hotel, Comfy Beds: The moment we sank into the plush and luxurious bed, We knew we were in for a comfortable night's sleep. The mattress was heavenly, providing just the right firmness and support. The bedding was soft and cosy, creating a haven of relaxation after a long day. We woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to take on the day. Fantastic Facilities: Malmaison boasts impressive facilities that add an extra touch of luxury to your stay. The hotel's attention to detail is evident in the thoughtfully designed amenities. The spa and wellness centre offered a tranquil retreat where we could unwind and indulge in pampering treatments. Malmaison has gone above and beyond to create a comfortable and enjoyable guest experience. Friendly Staff: The staff at Malmaison truly stood out with their exceptional service and genuine warmth. When we arrived, We were greeted with smiles and a genuine desire to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Overall, our stay at Malmaison exceeded all expectations. The incredibly comfortable beds, top-notch facilities, and genuinely friendly staff made for a truly memorable experience. We would highly recommend Malmaison to anyone seeking a luxurious and welcoming stay.

The location is great and the facilities were good.

We were contacted about a discounted upgrade. upon arrival we found out that the suite we applied for wasn’t available, this wasn’t an issue as I then opted to go for the club upgrade instead, I paid the difference in price from my already booked room and was checked in. We headed to our room and it wasn’t an upgraded room. We were then moved to the correct room but soon realised that there wasn’t much of a difference, definitely not worth the extra £134, especially not when I checked the price of the upgraded rooms later that day, I realised it would have been cheaper to have just booked those rooms that day instead of our standard rooms in advance so definitely check the price differences before taking the “discounted upgrades”.

As expected from Malmaison, stylish room with everything you could need including of course a very comfortable bed.

Long queue to check in around 7pm but maybe I was just unlucky. Unwelcoming checkin because receptionist never smiles (second time I have been checked in by him). Room generally clean but a previous guest had written “MURDER” in the condensation on the bathroom mirror which was a bit discomforting. Cooked breakfast smaller than I would have liked and missing some items listed on menu and fried eggs had dried up yolk and came out so fast it clearly hadn’t been cooked to order.

We have stayed at the Malmaison many times and it never disappoints. The location is excellent with restaurants easily accessible in The Mailbox complex as well as the on site restaurant. In addition, it's only a 10 minute walk into the city centre if you want to go further afield. The room, as always, was clean, comfortable, roomy and quiet with all the facilities required. Staff are friendly and ready to help - and having a Starbucks on the premises is always a plus for us! Parking is easy and not unreasonably priced for city centre parking.

All the staff at the hotel were very welcoming towards my family. The reception staff Kenda and Manager Emma were really helpful and very professional. Even before we arrived at the hotel as I sent emails and called up to finalise our stay! It was lovely put a face to the names! Sorry I did not get the names of the other reception staff but you all did a wonderful job in entertaining my very chatting girls. The house keeping staff are very polite and said hello each morning and greeted us with a smile! The restaurant staff especially Amelia were so lovely. The food was great and chef’s on shift did a splendid job accommodating our needs. No waiting times at Breakfast, lunch or dinner. We were seated right away, even though we did not book prior reservations. We arrived at the end of the scheduled lunch time on our first day and the chef said he would still cook for us. Thank you for this! The food was amazing and presented well! The room was very clean and really comfortable. The hotel atmosphere was calm, very organised and flowed really well considering it was busy with guests. I would really like to thank all the staff for making our stay a very pleasurable experience. My daughter’s really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Thank you again to all the Receptionist staff for entertaining my daughters when they came up to your desk and asked you questions. I also would like to say thank you for adhering to our special requests for our daughters to make their experience a special one. E.g. addressing the card key envelope with their names! We Definitely will be back! 5 stars for Customer service at this establishment.

Unfortunately we have no complaints from our end! Everything was perfect! Well Done to all!

Room was really good, the F&B staff were really friendly and polite, reception were friendly but a bit scripted. The breakfast continental was really good as was the large breakfast, staff at breakfast were excellent. Cocktails were amazing in the bar, probably one of the best pornstar martinis I've ever had. Great central location, rooms were fab.

Disappointed that when we went to order another cocktail at midnight they said they weren't doing cocktails anymore. I felt £18pp was quite a lot for breakfast. Bacon sandwich was toasted - and the toast was burnt but turned in so you couldn't see until you opened the sandwich

staff were very good especially Shay in the restaurant . room was very large (701) Havanna room with lots of comfy seating

It was a shame the hot tap was broken only came out at a trickle couldnt fill sink for a shave . dressing table was about to collapse in the bedroom I think the leg was broken . An anniversary card for the previous couple was displayed on the table and some makeup from them was left so cleaning needs to be looked at . There was only 2 t. bags lemon and ginger !!! I had to ask for some was told only did english breakfast but there were every kind imaginable at breakfast . Earl grey and green tea are usually standard in hotels of this calibre and especially when you book the most expensive suite .
