Excellent location , friendly staff, convenient parking for car. Really enjoyed our stay here.

I would have liked a few more vegetarian options for the cooked breakfast.

We booked a twin room - it was spacious and laid out very well. The amenities were better than other leading hotel chains - we had an ironing board, and iron, a hairdryer, a suitcase stand, plenty of hangers and the air conditioning worked (contrary to most places that only seem to have it as decoration!!). The desk was facing the window, which is great for getting ready and doing make up. The room was really clean. The staff at the reception were fantastic, so helpful and friendly. We primarily chose this hotel because it is so close to the Area and it has a carpark (cannot face parking at the arena, it's a nightmare!), so were really pleased how good the hotel was.

Nothing!

Hotel is well located, the city centre is a 5 - 10 minute walk away (and there's a pleasant pub - The Shakespeare - virtually next door to it). Room was comfortable and spacious, and breakfast choices ran from cereal, toast, fruit and cold meats and cheeses to a hot buffet. Also the draught pint of Camden Hells from the lobby bar went down well on a very hot day!

It's a minor thing, but some complimentary biscuits with the tea and coffee making facilities in the room would've been good and also mugs instead of cups.

The bed was extremely comfortable, very soft, which some people may mind too soft. The staff were very polite, and more than happy for me to store my bag with them for as long as I liked after checkout so that I could continue exploring the city for a few hours. The staff provided good recommendations for places to eat, and even provided a discount voucher for a nearby restaurant!

Although the staff were very kind and polite, when I asked them what they would recommend for things to see and do, they had no suggestions, which was strange. I understand that there was a huge amount of construction happening around the city at the time, and some attractions were closed (art gallery/museum, mostly cathedral) at the time, but they could have offered at least one suggestion! You need to promote your city, Birmingham!

Loved we could check in 30 mins early without penalty. After a long drive this was very welcome as was the 24hr tea/coffee machine in reception. Also when we checked in we were asked if we were going to a nearby concert (which we were). Reception then let us know the bar would be open until late if we wanted to come back for a drink. Again very welcome as we would have gone to another place for an after concert drink to wind down. Instead we came back to the hotel and joined others from the concert and had a good chat with people. All in all exactly what we needed and location was great.

The location was convenient for exploring the city centre. The underground, safe parking was good but expensive. The room was fine, the breakfast was good and the staff very helpful and polite and friendly.

There could have been some information in the room, explaining the air conditioning, heating and extractor fan system for the bathroom. The bathroom got totally steamed up with condensation after the first person had a shower because there didn't appear to be an extractor fan. The room therefore felt a little damp when we returned to it. There could also have been a central light as the room was quite poorly lit. But these are minor quibbles as generally we were very happy with the room.

Lovely big room, very comfy bed, everything you could possibly need provided including an iron and ironing board, lovely bathroom with bath and shower and toiletries. We had a high floor so had amazing views over the City rooftops. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the City Centre and Train Station and there is a locals very friendly pub next door to the hotel which does food, real ales and is reasonably priced. Breakfast at the hotel is served buffet style with plenty of choice of both hot and cold food. The area around the hotel is quiet so a good nights sleep was enjoyed.

Room very clean. Everything was working in room, good shower, very quiet. Breakfast pretty basic and tables not cleared (I had no choice to sit at a table which had not been cleared). Staff were good and seemed happy.

I needed car parking at the hotel (which was assured would be ok) but turned away at the entrance by a (rude) man on the gate who said I should park on the street, I asked where else should I park for 24 hours but got no answer. Not from the area I didn’t know where to park. The parking on the street was for four hours only, I was staying overnight. I eventually (after a lot of driving around) found another car park but it cost me £27. I understand this is not the hotels fault but it was how it was handled and the attitude of the guy on the gate was not informative. Next time I will consider not to stay there if bringing a car.

Very warm greeting from the staff, who provided a helpful map of the city centre so we could find our way around. It was refreshing to be able to pay cash for the car park, rather than be forced to use a card. Drinks machines were on free vend, to provide a welcome drink when we returned from our evening out. Our room was comfortable, and we slept well.

Though there's air con, I prefer to open a window at night, which wasn't possible, Maybe I'm fussy, but I struggled with breakfast despite the choice: no muesli or yoghurts, as I prefer a light breakfast, but this was only a minor niggle. Husband tucked in to a cooked breakfast.

location was great. the staff were very welcoming, friendly and engaging with us. It was trendy decoration, clean and tidy. Breakfast was just enough. everything there we could want and I even got a decent cup of coffee which is a massive bonus for me. I drink nut milks so I can’t normally get them.

The bed. super uncomfortable, was very hard despite having a mattress topper on it and my husband kept rolling into the middle as there was a dip. God I sound like Goldilocks lol. Also the pillows were awful. one too big and hard the other super lumpy, like it had gone through the wash and was all broken up inside. Didn’t call reception as only noticed at bedtime 12am. The room was also super hot even with the cool fan on. We removed the duvet and slept with the cover. So didn’t have the best night. but the room was nice. Very clean.
