Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

The room was absolutely lovely and the spa facilities were great. The staff were friendly.

We had to request robes three times before we received them. The first time we asked for them we were told there were none available, only to leave our room and see another couple on our floor being given robes. We also used the swimming pool, sauna and steam room every night, entering the facilities at either 8pm or 9pm. The facilities were supposed to be open till 10pm and yet every night the sauna and steam room kept being turned off at 9-9:15pm, this was frustrating and a disappointment as there was no signage saying these would be turned off early. If you say your facilities are usable till 10pm they should be.

The Location of the hotel is very good..walking distance from the Royal Mile. it even has a direct access to the train station from the hotel Elevator. a brand new shopping mall is also walking distance from the hotel

the rooms are refurbished and the alleys of the room look very old

Clean, near the town, polite friendly staff, felt safe. Food mostly good. Amenities good. Asked for robes/slippers and they were delivered along with a wee surprise of chocolateson arrival.

Stayed for 4 days. Breakfast was ok, got ALOT of eggshells in my omelette on last morning, so left without eating much. Room clean, left out a "refresh my room" sign on second morning but staff didn't notice it. Unfortunately bed was not as comfy as I'd like. View from room was terrible...looking into other rooms, so felt I had to keep blinds down. Pool, sauna, steam room, gym good/clean. Booked a couples massage which itself was lovely but staff were late to the appointment and I had to ring reception. Overall stay was good it considering we paid nearly £2000 for 4 nights it's very overpriced

The property was perfect for our needs it was right next to train station, shopping centre and near all the attractions we wanted to visit. Our room was comfortable and the leisure facilities were easily accessible and we were pleased we no longer have to book a time slot to use the swimming pool. We booked breakfast and were truly impressed by the quality of food on offer for continental and the hot breakfast options. My son asked for a plain stack of pancakes while myself and my daughter went for a full breakfast.. our toast came out and it was still hot which rarely happens and each staff member we came across were attentive and friendly. The girls on reception were lovely and Danny was very helpful to us during our stay. We highly recommend and will be returning for another weekend stay very soon.

The location of the hotel is in an amazing place and you can walk to a lot of places very quickly i.e. the Royal Mile etc. The bathroom was massive and exceptionally clean. I loved the walk-in standing shower. The room I stayed in was very spacious and I was very thankful for the air conditioning during the heat wave in the UK. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast range on the menu was very good, it kept me full until lunch time. I didnt order room service but the menu looked good and fairly priced.

Our grandaughter absolutely loved the pool and gym. Breakfast was excellent, great choices on the menu. We also liked the relaxed vibe, people coming and going and the hotel has a fabulous location.

We really liked everything especially the super helpful staff at reception, although in the morning , a rude guest jumped the queue, which I didn't like, as it wasn't fair to everyone who was waiting. I know other countries don't bother queuing but I find it exceptionally rude to others when all everyone that was waiting patiently just wanted to do was check out, it wasn't even a long queue (2 people only!)

We’ve stayed at this property several times over the past five years. While we’re always tempted to try something new, we’ve always had positive experiences here so we return. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the location can’t be beat, just a short walk from both the main train terminal as well as an airport tram stop. It’s a five to thirty-minute walk to the major tourist sites in both the old and new parts of the city. The facilities are fairly modern, comfortable, and usually clean, though we did note a bit of mildew in the shower this time. We would definitely stay again.

No major issues other than the bathroom mildew noted above. We have NOT seen this during prior stays here.

fantastic location ( so close to station and town yet quiet and opposite hop on bus). staff really helpful and attentive (have to commend the barman who served us so many Kailua coffees and the waiter who served steak dinner). they made a real effort to do a happy birthday cake plate. flat iron steak was perfectly cooked. the pool and Saunas a perfect unwind to the day

A gripe about ALL hotels. breakfast is always understaffed and so plates and cups stack up on the table filling it. the salmon and scrambled egg was perfect and so much salmon. the fruit was a little disappointing.
