Beautiful setting, nice views and gardens. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful.

The food needs improvement. The sole was not fresh, and was not presented well with a bean dish. The wait staff were not personable or helpful. They seemed new and unknowledgeable. There was a mix up about our rooms, whether or not to change between bookings, and it would gave been more relaxing for us if we had not been told to pack up and leave our luggage outside our door the first morning, only to be told that we were to stay in the same room.

Breakfast and dining area both excellent, staff were excellent, very friendly

Dining area very chilly in the evening. Not too much choice for main course from A La Carte, not really advised to order some extras to go with the lemon sole which was a fairly small portion. First choice of fillet steak not available. Partners peppercorn sauce for his ribeye steak never arrived, was offered half way through the meal, so a bit disappointed. Was for 60th birthday and just a bit disappointed however the Soufflé made up for the main course!!

Location ideal for Eden Court theatre. Excellent welcome from hotel reception staff, guided to parking space, cases carried in, shown to seat in reception area and given a complimentary glass of champagne while check in being done. Shown to room and breakfast timing explained. Rooms were excellent, extremely comfy bed, shower and bath and complimentary toilitries.

Turned up for breakfast to be told we would have to be seated in the bar area. Given a table and menus handed to us. Order taken for coffee, tea and toast. Explained it was self service for continental. Most juices were in short supply, fruit bowls were empty or half empty. Ordered cooked breakfast. The Ness breakfast was nice but rather small, the eggs benedict was nice. The smoked haddock with poached egg was inedible as haddock was so tough it would not cut. Had to request more coffee and hot water to be given a pot of tea instead of coffee. Had to clear our own plates as no staff came near us after hot breakfast was served. Head waitress gave the opinion she would rather not be there as was quite grumpy. At no time did anyone ask if our breakfast was ok?

Lovely, elegant building overlooking the Ness river and surrounded by beautiful grounds. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated. Bed was a very confortable king size. Lighting was warm and refined Lots of well distributed lamps.. Excellent linens in the bathroom including plush robes and slippers. Excellent toiletry products that were gentle on the skin. We enjoyed a cup of quality Illy caffè, the daily water bottles, in house made fudges, and short bread cookies. Shower was very good. Breakfast offered both a buffet and some cooked options. In both cases all the products were of quality. I loved their berries!!! The best I have had in years!!! All in all a perfect stay .

Like in may hotels in Scotland there was no plug for the hairdryer in the bathroom. I find this a poor idea... We had dinner at the Torridon, the hotel restaurant, both nights of our stay. The Menu didn't offer a large selection of dishes. But first night the crab, the beef, and the sole convinced us to return. On the second night the chicken dish wasn't as good. Service both at breakfast and dinner can use some improvements in order not to be do slow ad at times cahotic. Servers were kind and amiable. Valerio the sommelier was also very knowledgeable and Francesca, the dinner acting maître, extremely available and gentle. But overall the service was a bit scattered, not always efficient. I was a bit shocked that the parking on the property was an extra charge.

The hotel is easily accessible with a short walk from the City Centre besides the beautiful river Ness. The grounds are elegant and the interior finished in a clean, stylish and welcoming manner. The staff team were superb: always 'on hand' without being overbearing, friendly and polite, smart and 'solution focussed' - it is very evident that they work well together to make the hotel a welcoming place. Breakfast was as good as the best that could be expected, with very flexible hours (we eat early and very late!). The dinner in the Torrish restaurant was superb, and the bar area comfortable and welcoming 'before and after'. Our room was modern, clean and well-serviced: we did not have to ask for anything as our needs were anticipated. An excellent three night stay with plenty to do in the City, not least with the Eden Court theatre on hand.

[Our only - very very minor - reservation: we would have liked coat hooks in the room for when we returned out of the rain (you don't want to put your wet coat on a hanger into the wardrobe or over a chair!) and, in the same way, hooks in the bathroom for the hotel-provided bathrobes would have made a lot of sense! But if that is our only grumble, it is clear that this is an impressive place to stay!]

The location was excellent. My wife thought the bed was really comfy but I was not so sure. The hotel is very nicely finished and the room was very clean and fresh looking. Shower was excellent and we liked haveing the option of a bath and seperate shower. Staff and very friendly and helpful. All in this is a very very nice hotel. I would have given it a 9.5 score but that doesn't seem to be an option.

In my opinion the bed could have been more comfortable and I didn't like the fact they charge £20 per night for parking. I think, given the price of the rooms, this is too much. The cooked breakfast could have been bigger. My wife ended up having continental but ordering the cooked breakfast for me :)

Great location, quality of service from the attentive staff, good breakfast. Comfortable room and in particular the bed with the range of toiletries and robes you would expect in a hotel of that standard. Remote operation of blinds was a nice touch Champagne on arrival and the welcome from the young lady were both very welcome and delivered professionally. One of our party was celebrating his 50th and the hotel gave him a gift to celebrate, a nice touch and makes you feel more than a number. The Hogmanay entertainment, a trio, were excellent and highly entertaining.

The lighting in the bedroom had a strange logic as you could not switch the bedside lights off from the bed without having the vestibule light on all the time. Also there was an unfortunate issue with the shower not being hot in the evening one night however the staff were quickly on the case to remedy the issue. The on-site parking was too exciting although an alternative was suggested by the staff. Also as we were there for the Hogmanay celebrations we were told that there would be a piper. There was but he didn't come into the River Room as expected and had we known we would have happily gone into the bar area to see him but as we didn't know we missed him.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with a very high standard of service from all staff, seemless genuine service from check-in throughout our stay and to check out, the hotel has a lovely atmosphere, the staff work hard and work as a great team which shows in the atmosphere of the hotel, breakfast was lovely the bar and cocktails lovely the room and facilities were perfect and the hotel well maintained. a shout-out to our favourite staff Monica, what a lovely lady who was very professional and knowledgeable and also to the Fabulous Concierge Chibo(apologies for incorrect name spelling) What an absolute gentleman! Just the friendliest, happy most professional warm people, we loved every minute that we spent in the Ness Walk Hotel, it is indeed the staff that set it apart from other hotels, thankyou!

Good clean recently refurbished feel. Quality furnishings and bedding. I liked having a separate loo and bathroom too. Very pleasant but nothing to blow you away.

Lack of facilities, like a gym and reception was too small we couldn’t sit together as a family of 4 Seemed a little lacking in atmosphere. In other hotels we were offered a free upgrade as it was winter season and pretty quiet. it was also my birthday when we stayed at Ness Walk but the upgrades offered were an additional charge of either 60 or 150 pounds which caused an awkward feeling.

The pre planning, greeting and welcome is beautiful. The rooms spotless, comfortable and well equipped. The food is without doubt both delicious and beautifully presented, have met a chef in the garden picking herbs and flowers. Friendly and obliging staff in all areas. Incredible flower bouquet arranged for us by asking ahead of arrival, in the room. Thank you for another memorable stay. Till next time…

Batteries in tv were flat. Couldn’t isolate the lights, all or nothing, should probably have asked for help.
