The Waverley Inn

Staff were great, we had an early check out but they arranged breakfast for us. Location is very good, although we did not get to explore the town. Lots of parking space. All the facilities are there, the room was big enough, soft carpet and beds were comfy. The best value for money so far!!

While this was the lowest price I've seen in Scotland, the bed sheets contained some stains. They seemed to be washed, however, visually it gets you off when you see stains. Also, it was only soap in bathroom, but none of these shortcomings did not spoil the stay, I'd surely be back!

First time staying at a hotel with our dog and I was quite apprehensive about how it would be. I need not have worried as it was a great experience from start to finish. Hotel in great location in the centre of town. Room was clean and well decorated. Nice continental breakfast included in price. Lovely friendly staff who went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable and our dog was given loads of attention (and treats). We were made to feel really welcome and will definitely be back if we are in the area again. Would highly recommend

very close to the high street and the football ground, convenient location. freshly painted throughout so a clean fresh look. The lady at reception was very helpful and it soon became evident she was a master of all trades, from her warm welcome when we arrived to her carrying out DIY in the hallway putting pictures on the walls, cleaning the rooms doing the washing/ironing and breakfast preparation and then the clearing up. She is an asset to the Waverley inn

The room was clean but could do with a little attention to some basic maintenance. Toilet roll holder was missing, the shower head didn’t flow right (scaled up maybe) a shower mat for when you step out could be a welcome addition as water finds it way out onto the tiles and an elderly person could slip as the exit the shower. The base of the bed was broken which should be noticed when the bed is stripped and remade with new sheets, (room 6). My sleep was fine but the would has been damaged for some time.

The rooms had just been revamped and ours was spacious, clean and ideal. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very good; a great shower. There was a plentiful supply for breakfast and even a fridge for guests to keep anything that required to be kept cold.

Having someone in attendance at breakfast would have been good to keep the coffee coming. That seems to be a common comment in the reviews and it's an easy one to fix. TV reception could have been better.

Good location, comfortable bed, staff friendly and prompt to slive a problem. Breakfast room lovely, clean and good selection to choose from for breakfast.

Room could have been cleaner tea/coffee splashes on skirting boards, bin in bathroom not emptied(dirty sanitary products in). I had to wash radiator before l could put towels on it. First impressions of hotel was that it looked scruffy.

We had to live somewhere close to home during major house renovations. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. The rooms had everything we needed. We booked a family room and a single room - although got a twin room in the end for the latter. Continental breakfast was enough for us to get on with the day. WiFi never cut out. Dog friendly and no extra charge !

The family room felt quite cold at night.( The twin room felt very toasty in comparison. ) In the hallway it smelled of sigarette smoke.

I wasn't clear on room cleaning/linen changing policy. When asked, was told I'd just have to request this service. Staff, some of whom came in limited days, tried their best to help. Close to town center and lots of amenities, such as high street shops, churches, bakeries, cafes, restaurants, pubs, butchers, community centers, charity shops, discount & regular grocery stores, bus and train, take outs, the river, walking trails, library, ...

This was a perfect place for exploring Highlands, room was huge, with all the necessities you might need. Parking was just in front, and the location is in the city centre-shops and all you might need is near. Bathroom was great, they even left a heater in the room, which was really helpful at night. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, enough to start a day. All in all, great value for money.

Friendly and helpful staff. The owner stayed late to check me in at 11pm which was great. V good value for money, especially including breakfast (which was also a great spread). Spacious room and clean. TV and kettle with tea/coffee provided. Free car parking. Better than the listing.

Unfortunately not sound proof but not bad (definitely had worse, and would expect it of an older building) (heard some partygoers return down the corridors and also the pipes made noise so when someone in another room turned on a tap I could hear it). Would be great to have some shampoo on offer in the rooms.

Staff especially, cleanliness, layout of hotel, dog friendly is a big plus Overall very happy and will return again. 8/10 😀

Freeview in room had terrible signal. Was unwatchable The shower was missing the door and the shower took a while to warm up. Would be handy to get another electricical socket installed also
