Typical pub hotel except for the fact that the staff (owner) was tremendous with nothing too much trouble for him. The breakfast was out of this world and far surpassed many 5-star hotels I have stayed in. There was copious amount of fruit and cereals ( best selection I have seen in a long time) - the cooked breakfast was excellent if perhaps a bit too much as after the cereal and fruit I did not have as much room left as I thought I had. The quality of the cooked breakfast was also first rate.

The room was a bit small and access for my wife ( who has slight mobility problems) was up steep winding stairs.

Absolutely wonderful hotel run by the most amazing couple that went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as it could be. My partner and I booked for a short break with both our mums to this fabulous hotel. We stayed DB&B with our 3 well behaved dogs, the 2 rooms were well laid out , tastefully decorated and immaculately clean with plenty of tea, coffee and some lovely biscuits. The food was absolutely outstanding and the starters, main courses and desserts were absolutely delicious with a special shout out for the homemade sticky pudding, which was the best we had ever tasted. I must also add that one of our party is vegan, and enjoyed the most wonderful homemade vegan chilli that was freshly prepared, added to the menu and she also enjoyed the best vegan cooked breakfast experienced in any hotel, including those with 5 stars. We were also given great advice on suitable local dog walks and even helped with our luggage to our 2 cars at the end of our stay. This really was an exception stay.

Nothing, as this is an outstanding hotel that went above and beyond our expectations.

The breakfast was gorgeous very fresh and hot loads of choice fruit, yoghurt, cereal toast and full cooked breakfast, just a shame that we left early for our train that we didn’t eat that morning. Also had a meal in the bar it was one of the best burgers I have had for a long time. Room and bathroom was clean Staff and the local people were lovely and good fun. A quick thanks to Davy for the taxi to New Cumnock and return.

Breakfast choices were brilliant and very good quality The couple couldn't have done enough for our party They went over and above what most other hoteliers would go . And we can't thank Martin enough for the two trips to the wedding venue . It was very much appreciated by us all . If we were ever your way again we wouldn't hesitate to book with you . Bed was unbelievably comfy. Nice welcome and helped up to our room with our cases. Very pleasant. Great price and perfect location for us. Will 💯 stay again. Great shower, brilliant water pressure. Spotless and super comfy full stop.

Although there was a shared bathroom this did not affect being able to access at all no complaints whatsoever.

The staff and also the locals in the pub are great company.

We didn’t check the details of the booking properly and didn’t realise that it was a shared bathroom. Totally our own fault and although not what we would normally book it wasn’t a problem. Bathroom and shower room to choose from which were nice and clean and lovely soft towels supplied.

Excellent hotel owners are amazing made very welcome. Bedrooms are very clean and tidy, homemade food is a amazing good for money . Lovely little village with trains going to Dumfries, Ayr and Glasgow and local taxi service. Will definitely be booking again next year had a lovely few days here .

I enjoyed a fantastic stay at the Queensberry. My room was comfortable and well appointed. Spotlessly clean throughout. Delicious home cooked food. The lovely owners couldn’t be more welcoming and attentive. I don’t drive and loved that it was less than a five minute stroll from the train station. Beautiful area. Wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend.

Nothing to dislike

A great value evening meal, and a fantastic breakfast! Very welcoming staff, and a characterful building with an interesting history. Comfortable and very clean bedroom, nice big bath and great showers.

Nothing really. No en-suite but two shower / bathrooms and a separate toilet, which seemed like plenty when we were there.

The breakfast was easily the best we've had from all the hotels we've been to.the personal service was 100 percent.

Only that it was shared toilets but we knew that before booking. We were told they only had one room that is ensuite and can book with prior notice and do so in the future.
