Elephant Rock Hotel

Loved the decor, bed linens were spotless and all obviously high quality. Loved the walk-in shower instead of bath. Didn’t dine in the restaurant on this occasion, but breakfast was excellent. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Great location, parking was close and convenient.

Our room was very warm, but probably as much our own fault as we didn’t attempt to check out how the air conditioning unit worked until the next morning before we were leaving, although the radiator seemed to be stuck at number three, so we couldn’t turn it off either. We were in room 12 and I found it a bit strange that the windows did not open and would have preferred it if even one of them had. Not faults as such, just personal preferences, as our stay in general was very pleasant.

The choices for breakfast were very good and the food was excellent. Location of the hotel is also spot on and the hotel decor was great.

I know space for breakfast is limited but we did feel the tables against the wall were too close together, we felt abit in each other's personnel space.

Nothing really, however, breakfast service was quite slow and fruit/yoghurt/granola forgotten about. Staff seemed quite new at breakfast, however, overall we found staff to be super friendly and efficient.

Accommodation, food and drink are a bit over priced but everything was so lovely that didnt mind paying for treat.

Rooms were beautiful, bed and pillows among the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. Bathroom was clean, well sized and provided products were excellent quality and locally sourced which we felt was fabulous. The amenities provided, tea/coffee machine/hot chocolate and wee biscuits were first class also. Hotel provided a little book with all the information you could need including information on the town/taxis/further hotel information which was extremely helpful. We had breakfast and dinner in house and the food was absolutely fantastic. We will be raving about it for some time!

The view at the hotel was fantastic! they even have a front patio to sit and enjoy outside. there was a bar area in back that had indoor and outdoor seating. Very clean room and the beds were SO comfortable (soft)!! Liked the tea and espresso machine in room. Toiletries were a great addition! The room came with robes and slippers -nice touch but didn’t realize they were there until we were leaving. We stayed on a Sunday so was pretty quiet at night. Staff were very helpful and food and bar was very good. We enjoyed our stay!!

Many if the buildings around need renovation but did feel safe. Also the shower is a corner one in room which I prefer larger.

William the Head receptionist was absolutely brilliant, he sorted everything for put room, looked after our bags and was extremely helpful. The staff In the restaurant and bar were top notch. Scott looked after us and the food was 10 out of 10. Perfect location for travelling and we never needed to leave for food or drink.

Shame some of the buildings around it have been let go badly. But the area was safe and the on street parking was fine too.

Breakfast super.Liked that was cooked to order. If I am picky I ordered Scrambled egg without the smoked salmon and asked for mushroom instead. I got one mushroom which did not seem like a fair swap. Also asked for some toasted wheaten and it came almost burnt. Apart from that Breakfast was one of the highlights.Cocktails night before were average. Location is nice overlooking sea but area generally is a bit rundown. There was quite a lot of banging doors and bottle bins collection next morning- not that quiet of a room. No view from room. Daughter (21 and 24) on ground floor was very average - window looking out to reception (our room however was very nice and bathroom amazing). Overall would recommend to stay

Lack of any view from either room.Bathroom in my daughters room not well finished - piping all visible. There was a distinct odour from the stairwell of fish? Cocktails expensive for the level of quality/visual appeal.
