It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of continental items at breakfast.

I don't know why they couldn't make a small private bathroom in your room. The toilet is in a cupboard, the sink is in your room and the shower is next to your bed with a see through door. It was fine for me as I was on my own, but two of my friends were sharing a room so this was awkward for them. The door to the shower looks frosted, but when water gets on it, it goes see through. I felt over £100 a night was a bit steep for this hotel. I think it should be between £75 and £90 a night at the most.

If you've never stayed in an Ibis Budget hotel before there are a few things you need to know ... firstly the rooms are not carpeted and even though you get a full size double bed (which was comfy) you do not get the usual "full" bathroom. I once heard these type of rooms described as a "wet-room with a bed in it" ... now - certainly they are very basic ... but that is a little mean ... you get a sink in your room, a shower that is only divided from the room by a shower door, and a toilet in it's own little room.... but imho these rooms are a good enough base only for a 1 or 2 night stay ... I don't think my fella and I would be comfortable in this type of room for a full week as there's no wardrobe, only a small hanging hook and there's no drawers... so nowhere to fully "un-pack" which I like to do in hotel rooms ... to make it a sort-of home from home ... the final gripe for me ... as a proper English lass, I like a cuppa in the morning... these rooms DO NOT HAVE TEA AND COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES... poor show ... the girls and boys on reception pointed this out on check-in ... then said we could get tea and coffee from the 24 hour reception at a cost of £1.50 per cup... boo... I like my tea in bed after waking in a hotel room ... not having to wear the sunglasses to go down to reception for a paltry small cup of tea... that said we are staying here again next year for the Rocking the Bowl festival in the Don Valley Bowl ... coz it's better than camping, but I'll be taking my camping kettle and tea-bags .. see you at the bar people ... at the festival, of course, not the hotel, there is no bar at the hotel ... xx

The floor of the rooms is the same as you'd get in a wet room ... NO TEA AND COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES...

Location: IBIS Budget Sheffield Arena, Sheffield, directly next to the English Institute of Sport. Room was very clean and though not the most modern or not having all the bells and whistles (because it was a budget hotel), it was fantastic value for the price., under £40. The important thing is to book it as early as possible otherwise the price can increase quite dramatically, especially when most hotel rooms are booked up in that area. The room was well organised, with all necessary amenities to hand, TV in corner, wash basin, Shower and toilet all separate. It also had a small TV in the corner. The room was spacious enough for two people although I was traveling alone at the time. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but as a budget hotel, I imagine this is standard. The shower cubicle was clean and the shower itself, simple to use and the shower head was effective. The staff on reception were professional and attentive. As I was staying after watching an event at the English Institute of Sport, this was unbelievably close by, and extremely close to Meadowhall with all its shops. I wouldn't hesitate to return there again... Well done IBIS...!

There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel. I think it was perfect as a budget room in a budget hotel, there was absolutely nothing to dislike about the room, staff, location. The important thing is to book it as early as possible otherwise the price can increase quite dramatically, especially when most hotel rooms are booked up in that area.

Very easy to get to on tram and close to IKEA & Meadowhall Shopping Centre on same. Comfy room perfectly adequate and good shower. Can buy little boxes of cereal if don't want the breakfast which looked good value and nicely cooked & presented although I didn't go for it as I breakfast light. There is a microwave - didn't ask if it was just for the Pot Noodles you can buy or for general customer use. Very friendly and obliging staff - always happy to help.

Decor a bit tired but it is fine. No kettles in room so have to go downstairs for hot water from machine or buy drinks from it (you get a free token for one) but manageable. I'm going to bring a cup with a lid next time to make it easier to port in lift. The route from the tram stop is a bit dark at night and it could be better signposted but that's not the hotel's job. If you are visiting the Arena it is very close.

Location is fab. Was very easy to get to what we needed. Having never been to Sheffield before I didn't find it difficult to navigate us to where we needed to be. Staff were friendly upon arrival.

I travelled with my child. On the booking it stated she wasn't charged to stay. At £89 for one night for a very basic hotel with a very basic room I found it very steep. I have never stayed in an ibis before and probably should have researched. It seems that this price was heavily inflated compared to searches for other dates so I'm not sure why that seems to be the case. Definitely wouldn't pay that price to stay again, but would stay again if I was paying the lower prices next time.

rooms are ok, double bed, with a bunk bed above, small table and stool. shower and toilet were ok. Heating in the room, was slow to heat up so I asked for an extra heater from reception and was given one without any problems.

the front rooms are quite noisy with cars passing at rush hour times, rest of the times, the road noise is not to bad I was not aware at time of booking that you have to pay extra for parking your car £6.00 a night, so no biggie. the breakfast is very very basic, so dont wake up in the morning expecting a full breakfast, toast and cereal only, to be honest, Id save your money on this and grab a breakfast somewhere else.

Everything! This is one of the best budget hotels I have stayed in. Compact rooms with a cute extra bunk bed above the main double bed. Clean & comfortable with a nice cool room temperature. Staff were lovely. Tea, coffee & snacks are available at reception, as is continental breakfast. It is right beside the Sheffield Arena. Centertainment Park is right behind the hotel with lots of eateries & a big cinema. The tram also stops there.

There is no kettle in the room, so bring your own. Car parking fills up quickly, so get there early! There can be some traffic noise but it was fine. Mind your head on the bunk bed above you!

As usual, room was clean and well presented. All fixtures and fittings secure and working. Bed was comfy, pillows were of a decent thickness and duvet was also. We were given complimentary parking as the lift was out of action from the ground to first floor and as I walk with crutches, they offered the free parking due to me having to use the stairs to access the lift at the first floor. For me, the stairs were manageable and having banisters on either side, did give me more confidence also. Great customer service from the staff again. They're always polite, friendly and approachable. We tried the pizza, that was offered 24/7 and only cost £8.95. We weren't expecting much, but wow, hot, freshly cooked (oven not microwave) 10" pizza, that smelt and tasted amazing, easily as good as my local dominoes. I would definitely recommend that to people who want a quick takeout meal, but either don't want to venture out or order from a random takeaway. There is also toasties available and other snack items, as well as soft drinks or wine. Although there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room, there is free tea/plain coffee in the lobby. Or you can buy tokens from the desk to get latte/cappuccino/mocha etc from the coffee machine. The hotel is cashless, so ensure you have debit/credit to pay for food/coffee tokens and your room (if not pre-booked).

Apart from having to use the stairs rather than the lift for getting upstairs, which I felt was a very minor inconvenience. I had no negatives about my stay. I wouldn't even say the stairs were a negative point as the staff did say, if I couldn't manage the stairs, they would sort a way of getting me up to the first floor. At the end of the day, the hotel needs to undertake repairs, renovations etc, so it's understandable that at some point, there will be some works going on. Again this isn't a negative point, as what works have been done here look amazing and very fresh.

We had to stay over unexpectedly and chose to use this hotel again as the last two stays had been perfect for what we needed. The rooms are spacious enough, the beds also, plus being very comfortable as we're the pillows. The bathroom facilities were clean and in good order, water was a good temp at various times of the day. The reception staff were brilliant in giving advice and information about the area and the hotel. They were also friendly and polite on all three visits.

Again, there were no complaints. I've stayed in what I felt were lower quality hotels that have charged much more per night.

Perfect location for Arena, friendly helpful staff, clean and comfortable room and plenty of choice with continental breakfast and choice of hot drinks. The negative feedback off people saying no kettle in the room is not a problem as you can have unlimited tea and coffee from reception to take to your room or sit in reception. Let's face it you go arena or theatre and look for hotel near by as you don't live in area or late finishing and need a bed this hotel is perfect I told Marco I will definitely stay again shame didn't stay another night to explore Sheffield but we stayed to watch Strictly but had to get back home for work in afternoon next day. People haven't got money these days stay in 5* hotels I really couldn't fault Ibis budget hotel.
