Colony Inn

The location is at the edge of town, along the old highway. It was easy to access, and fairly quiet all night. Hwy 101 is very near, but not all that busy in the morning. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. Linens & towels were spotless. Keycard access to all interior hallways makes the place feel safe. Guests were nicely spread out throughout the facility. There is an elevator.

The verbal directions to our room failed to mention that the lobby/front entrance is on the 2nd floor, and the rear parking area is actually at the 1st floor. Very confusing and nowhere near our room. Atascadero charges a nightly "environmental fee" of $3.75, which isn't explained, though with eight pillows provided for two beds, I'm assuming some of that fee is for water use/laundry. How about an option to not have so many pillows in the room?

Safe parking lot, quiet location in wine country. Room was quite comfortable. Receptionist was very helpful in allowing me to print tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium at the desk as the business center was being updated over the holidays.

Laundry room was also being updated over the holidays without notice here on Booking.com which seems like an easy fix. Luckily, I intuitively did laundry the previous night at a big hotel at LAX during the midpoint of our West Coast journey even though I had planned for all three of us to do laundry here in this more relaxed venue. Hotel layout is a bit labyrinthian but key clues given by the receptionist helped in our successful quest to find our room during our late night check-in. No breakfast.

Clean and neat no need for repairs.

Was under the impression that a continental Breakfast we to be had one of the reasons we booked it. BUT no, they did nt hav any kind of breakfast set up.Marriott had bout Bewst Buy and pland to renovate this facility, which does not need it. So am concerned the prices will go up.

This was a business trip for me and my first time to California. Atascadero is not the most lively area, but it was pleasant. The location was great! I was able to catch the public bus, across the street, to my meeting location in Templeton. $1.75 and 15 minutes away. Full disclosure: I didn't expect much when I pulled up in the uBer. However, the room was better than most. My overall stay was acceptable, but my last day is what made me write a review, I flew into LAX, so I planned on taking Amtrack back to LAX. I booked an uBer and a Lyft beforehand .. b/c there aren't many in the area. My Amtrack bus/train reservation was for 3.45 AM at the CalPoly campus 20 minutes away. I'm standing outside at 2 AM waiting for one of the shareride services to arrive. Neither one ever does. The maintenance man saw me waiting and after I explained to him my situation he went to the front desk clerk and they arranged for him to take me to the campus. It's a small gesture, but it was overwhelming, b/c the week before I had a horrible hospitality experience at a much higher star rated hotel. The staff really exuded a family business aura in the best way possible. I will definitely be staying here again!

The breakfast could have been a little better! There were hot options and a Grab & Go option. I have a strict diet, so it probably would have been acceptable for most. I get it, but I had to write something in the 'don't like section' to complete the feedback ;-)

I liked the establishment its clean very well kept both interior and exterior with a nice pool side courtyard. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They're complimentary breakfast is satisfying, a nice touch. If you are commuting daily you'll be a short minute from the highway. Also in the vicinity, you get the choice of several gas stations. You have convenience markets. There is a good restaurant right around the corner, a must visit if your a fan of (double doubles). Take my word, this BW deserves a five star review. Dont overlook it, just book it.... Experience it for yourself, I know I preffer it.

I don't like it when I have to depart and travel back home. I like this central coast area...and between you and me I wish the best western was my home😁

The property was clean and well maintained. they we obviously in the process of upgrading the interior in the lobby.

The area at the back of the property had signs of vagrancy and damage associated w/ homelessness. There was also none guests hanging at the back of the property.

Had overnight stay In Atascadero and were very pleased with our stay. We arrived a little early and we were allowed to check in. Additionally, I was with my mother who has difficulty walking and a room that was close to an entrance was given to us. The beds were comfortable, the room had a microwave and small fridge along with a coffee maker. An overall good value for the price. My mother liked the hotel very much.

No breakfast at location, I thought it was going to be included. Staff was apologetic, we had to go get breakfast items the night we arrived as we were not going to have time to eat out.

The hot breakfast was good. It was cheerfully served by a hotel employee because of health precautions during the Covid outbreak. Breakfast area was clean and well maintained.

Had trouble unlocking the doors with my card key. It would sometimes take as many as five attempts. I could have gone and gotten another card key to see if it worked better but I didn’t. :)
