Love the property and it was so close to the beach that my family loved it

Everything was excellent I wouldn’t change anything and the ladies at the front office were very courteous and friendly.

Love the location! Right downtown on the walkway by the water and many restaurants and shops! The bed was very comfortable and the whole 8 room hotel was very clean!

wish there were some drawers in the room and bathroom area. There were only table top nightstands and one long narrow table under the TV with 1 dining room style chair. No eating table. There was an outdoor area with a table and other seating but it was rather cold while we were there so the outside was not very inviting to sit w/o a heater. Also no refrigerator or microwave in the room. There was a kitchenette down the hallway with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, sink, and a bag of ice in the freezer.

This was the Perfect location, right in the central of all restaurants and shopping stores. The lady and her husband Steve who checked us in and out were extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and gave me and my friends the suites that were connected to each other so we can be close. They also gave us tips on things to do, and places to eat while we were there. During check out, they even offered to keep our luggage bags until we are ready to take the ferry back home so we didn’t have to carry it around all day with our kids. It was very sweet and generous of them to allow us to leave our bags with them. Highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely come back next time!

Everything was great and met our expectations and the wife was very helpful and sweet to us.

The facility did not have an elevator, but everything else was very good.

It is my sentiment an elevator needs to be installed due to the rooms on the 2nd floor.

Barbara, her daughter, and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful and responsive! The hotel itself is just lovely and so well cared for, and it was such a treat to stay at a place that had been in the same family for 100 years, and to hear some of that history. I know that most of the hotel rooms in Avalon are pretty small, but we thought our room had ample space.

Our stay happened to coincide with trash day and the early morning (7:00) banging of the large trash receptacles in the alley behind the hotel was rather jarring. The continental breakfast that was supposed to be offered was not, due to COVID, and we were given vouchers for a brewery, which had wonderful breakfast items, and to a donut shop for the one day the brewery was supposed to be closed. Unfortunately, the brewery was closed an additional day, unexpectedly, so we only had a donut that day as well. However, both of these issues were not really a reflection of the hotel itself, which was just lovely.

WOW! This is why you can't fully rely on reviews when picking a hotel. The reviews for the Edgewater were mixed. Thankfully, I went with my first mind and booked! I was impressed by the customer service via the chat function on Booking.com and the quick response. The location is perfect for the ferry, a small beach area, and the main shopping area. I was in room 6 and did not hear the Kareokee bar next door, as reported. The room was small but cute and clean! I mean super clean! What made it worth it was the shared kitchen space with a microwave and refrigerator for the small 10-room boutique hotel. There was also an outside sitting area in the back. I really enjoyed my stay!

This hotel is located right on the street facing the water. Perfect location to walk throughout Avalon. It is a boutique hotel with only 8 rooms. My only concern was the stairs leading up to the rooms, which were very steep. There is no elevator.

The Edgewater Hotel on Catalina Island is truly a hidden gem. Words cannot do justice to its beauty and charm. It far surpasses any expectations one might have. The hospitality provided by their host was extraordinary, making us feel welcome and valued. Their professionalism and kindness were truly world-class. Without a doubt, The Edgewater Hotel is the finest accommodation on Catalina Island.

We loved everything

This is a small family run hotel. You can tell they take a great deal of pride in their hotel as well as the cute store below. Their employee was absolutely adorable. She was so helpful to my husband and I.

The only complaint I had was the TV remotes batteries were dead. No big deal. Luckily I had extras in my camera bag. But some directions on how to use the remote would have been helpful. It wasn’t just a power button. Once we changed the batteries we were able to figure out how to use it, but it took looking it up online since it wasn’t simple.

The property was clean and has been recently remodeled. iI is simple but very functional in the best way. if you need lots of staff and amenities then this is not for you. But if you just want a nice, clean, well appointed room to serve as a base of operations for your stay on Catalina and you want to be in the thick of everything then it’s perfect.
