Newport Beach Hotel

We traveled to Newport Beach from San Diego for our 38-year anniversary. We were looking for a hotel at the beach when we arrived. We lucked upon the Newport Beach Hotel, as we were strolling by the restaurants and shops along the boardwalk. Our rate through Booking.com was better than what we were quoted in the lobby. So, we went with that. When talking with the front desk, they offered us two separate rooms and even allowed us to preview each one. We chose the Queen Spa Room, which has a large skylight over the tub/shower and a glass block wall. This brought in great natural light into the room and was really nice. The room was clean and comfortable and the bed was also very comfy. Nice Linens and 4 big fluffy pillows. They had bikes that we could borrow available in the lobby as well as beach chairs, towels and other amenities as well. This hotel is in a building that is over 100-years old. But they way they have utilized the space is very nice. The views in the available sitting areas at both the ground level and level 2 are amazing. Breakfast was also included with our stay. A healthy and selection of bagels, pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffee and many other items. This was an incredible stay for us. We are already trying to book for next year. If you are looking for a very nice boutique style hotel with amazing location and view, you won't be disappointed.

We had no complaints. This is an older hotel building. But they have maintained it very well. the water was being turned off the next day for repairs to piping. But it did not interrupt any of our stay.

The location is great and the staff is exceptionally friendly and always ready to help you any way they can.

If you are a light sleeper, there is almost constant (not loud!) low-frequency noise that comes through walls and floors. This is normal as older buildings never had very good sound-proofing. If this does not bother you, you will have a great stay.

Amazing staff and location. walk out of the Hotel and there is the beach/ocean. They offered complimentary bikes to ride, body boards, beach towels, sunscreen umbrellas almost everything you need for a day at the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!

the property is a little dated but nothing terrible.

The housekeepers were very helpful and amazing. My husband had a problem carrying things up the stairs and they jumped right in without asking. Haven’t seen help like that in a long while.

I have been there when they had much more choices for breakfast in the same price and I miss that.

Comfy rooms Staff very helpful and friendly Really comfy rooms and lovely bathrooms. Odd to enter the Sailor suite by main road but it was fine! Bike was great.

Bath was little deep for my elderly mom! No bottle opener in the Sailor suite! Breakfast was basic but lot of waste - know there is no kitchen but all disposable plates and cutlery and eggs in plastic.

Very comfortable room. Well laid out. Took advantage of the available space. Large and roomy shower. Bathroom had a skylight that let in lots of natural light. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They offer bikes for guests, but we brought our own beach cruisers. They allowed us to store our bikes with their bikes overnight, which was really appreciated.

Only negative with this room was there wasn't a window or a view.

The location at the beach is great. It makes it easy to navigate without parking. Liked the upstairs seating area for watching the sunset. Staff were freindly and very helpful.

The breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Fresher fruit and healthier non carb choices would improve the offering.

lots of lovely little touches. good toiletries. high quality grab and go breakfast. unlimited hot drinks to help yourself to. the view is to die for. and lovely staff.

it’s not cheap but you get what you pay for here. location is unbeatable. a window would have been nice.

Perfect location right near the beach. An intimate hotel with comfortable beds. The room with one queen bed was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated.

The bathroom with shower was small but nice. There was no fridge in the room.

I liked the size of the room and the kitchen that had everything of the comforts of being at home. Loved that it was near the beach and lots of restaurants to visit.

The parking was very tight, and the spaces said it was for small cars, but large SUVs were able to park inside.
