Room is well equipped, and free wine every evening between 6-7:30pm is an added bonus. Served the purpose of our stay for three nights. Shower/bath combo was great, very powerful shower and no issues with hot water. Area surrounding is nice and feels safer than some over areas in LA. There is a good donut shop (cash only) across the road that you can get cheap breakfast and coffee at for <$10 for two people. Also recommend trying Egg Tuck down the road which has vegan and meat options (although more pricey but very filling). We have actually rebooked this hotel for the second part of our trip because it feels safer for two female travellers to walk around at night. Close to bus and Metro links which can take you all over the city for ~$7 a day (recommend if not wanting to use a car).

One of the plug sockets was broken in room. Wifi can be intermittent, especially during busier evening times. Rooms aren't double glazed so if you're a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs (but this is usual in large cities). Road noise quietens down overnight.

The hotel lobby was absolutely gorgeous. Our room was small, but we were only there for one night, so we didn’t need too much room to move around. With the hotel being older (built in the 20s I think), walls and floors were a bit thinner, so we could hear allll the movements from the guests in the room above us and I’m sure the guests below us could say the same about us. Otherwise, there were plenty of useable outlets, water pressure was great, bed was clean and comfortable, and I love that in addition to offering single serve coffees in the room, they also offered tea. We didn’t get to take advantage of the wine happy hour, but I love that it’s offered.

I wish the coffee was made available in the lobby. The only option within the building (outside of our room) was the attached restaurant (Cassell’s), but they didn’t open until 11am. Although the walk was very short, we had to leave the property to get coffee. Not a deal breaker, but it was the biggest opportunity that stuck out for us.

Text service to speak with staff was awesome. I utilized that a lot, and they were very quick to respond. Building has a wonderful old school vibe, glassware provided was very cute too. Bed was very comfortable and shower was amazing!

No microwave, which I would've used. Curtains don't close all the way, so I used a chair to hold them together.

This is a classic older hotel. The lobby area is grand and has a historical feel. All the staff were upbeat, friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the shower was outstanding. We enjoyed having a meal at Cassel's Hamburger which is attached to the hotel. If you are visiting the Korea Town neighborhood this is a perfectly located hotel. The price of the hotel was fair for the location. Having a cup of coffee in the lobby in the morning was a great way to start your day in LA.

The rooms are a little small and the hallways are not very bright. We thought this added to the ambience but it might not appeal to some.

Beautiful interior in the lobby and room. This is the best value for money because it feels like a boutique hotel with the right amenities for reasonable price. Front desk staff have been great and we loved the everyday maid service. They provide coffee in the morning and wine reception in the afternoon. The hotel also gave us complimentary late checkout. Location is very good as we loved exploring koreatown and the many restaurants it has to offer. Would recommend this place to stay in LA.

The only downside is the noise. At night the street can be noisy and we found the soundproofing (especially from the floor above us) is not great. Light sleepers will need earplugs.

I love that they kept the integrity of the old architecture. It is so beautiful, the hardwoods, the spacious rooms, and very kind and helpful staff!!

The parking situation is challenging when you are traveling with people that are physically challenged. They have a lot and it is staffed with the kindest, most helpful people I have ever met!! The lot is kitty-corner to essentially you have to cross two lights, and when someone has physical limitations it is difficult because there is nowhere to have them wait to pick them up. It is stressful because you are battling traffic while trying to find an easy pickup and drop off point. I know the logistics of downtown LA, and I know parking is always a challenge....I just wish they had a better way of dealing with it.

The receptionists were most helpful. The lobby of the Normandie is very stately, but welcoming enough too sit on the sofas and arm chairs. Our mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. The white tiled bathrooms with old-fashioned sink and bath knobs were lovely. The evening wine tasting was a nice treat!

No breakfast was included with our room fees, only brewed coffee in the lobby or instant coffee/tea in our rooms. It was good to have a wA small brown bag breakfast of a muffin or pastry would have gone well with that coffee/tea.

The hotel is in a beautiful restored building. The lobby is really pretty. Our room was comfortable and clean. We were in LA for an appointment at a nearby consulate, so the location worked well for us, though it was far from most tourist attractions.

Unfortunately, we saw a cockroach when we opened the small closet containing the water and ice machine. We decided to only drink the bottled water offered at the front desk. I wish the sink in our bathroom wasn’t a pedestal. It was difficult to keep toiletries organized and get ready for an evening out. I wouldn’t have wanted to stay more than 1-2 nights.

Everything! The friendliest most helpful staff. From check in to check out and everything in between we had a fab time, the complimentary wine in the evening was such a nice touch and the hotel lobby was beautiful. We also loved the burger restaurant that was connected to the hotel, one of the best burgers we’ve had, the staff there were also brilliant. Rooms were comfortable & clean, Location was great for exploring Hollywood area and close to Universal, we also met friends in Santa Monica the Uber took around half hour so not bad at all. Special thanks to CJ & Patrick for making us feel so at home, already looking forward to our next visit sometime in the future! Great value for money.
